A sweet cottage ideal for a couple but spacious enough for 5 nestled in the foothills of the Cambrian Mountains. The cottage lies cradled in the side of the valley in Pontrhydygroes; the doorstep of the historic Hafod Estate with its restored gardens, waterfalls and numerous forest walks. There are several local nature reserves. It is 20 minutes drive from the Elan Valley, and the same inland from the beautiful Cardigan coast. Ramblers will enjoy the myriad of paths in the area, bird watchers can spot red kites (amongst many other species), and cycle route 81, reputed to be one of the best in Wales, passes through the village. Fishing permits are available in the local pub and there is a restaurant in Devils Bridge just 3 miles away. This traditional cottage with a quirky twist makes a great base for a wonderful holiday.
What an amazing place! The former St Cwnlle's church has just been converted with great sensitivity, imagination and flair retaining many original features and creating new out of old. As well as combining every modern comfort, it is also ecologically sound. The historic University town of Lampeter is about 8 miles away and has a good selection of shops and eateries. Aberaeron, a very colourful Georgian seaside town, is also about 8 miles away and makes a good day trip as do Aberystwyth and Devil's Bridge.

Surrounded by rolling countryside and with spectacular views of the Plynlimon Mountains the cottage stands alone in 2 acres of fenced land. Devil's Bridge is famous for its three arched bridges one on top of the other, where you can walk down the "Jacobs ladder" steps and into the Rheidol valley to see the 300 foot world famous waterfalls of the Mynach falls. Red kites and wildlife can be seen in the pasture land adjacent to the cottage and the nearby Nant yr Arian visitor centre gives a close up view of the Red Kites being fed every day of the year. The Rheidol stream railway leaves Devils Bridge on a return trip and snakes its way to though the stunning Rheidol valley to Aberystwyth 12 miles away. This cottage is ideal if you want an escape away from it all, with breathtaking walks, fishing, mountain biking and horse riding all within a short walking distance of the cottage. A trip to the nearby fishing villages of Cardigan Bay with boat trips to see the dolphins and seals is a must for all the family. This delightful 18th century stone cottage is situated in the hamlet of Parc y Rhos, close to Lampeter, a vibrant and cosmopolitan university town and a hub of Welsh culture and heritage with a great selection of individual shops, restaurants, pubs and galleries. The town stands on the river Teifi and you can follow it from its source in the Cambrian Mountains past the ruins of Strata Florida Abbey, through Devil's Bridge all the way to Poppit Sands in Pembrokeshire. The closest beaches are Aberaeron and New Quay, just half an hour away. There is a pub 5 minutes drive away which serves good food. This is an excellent area for mountain biking.
