Ceibwr Bay

Dramatic cliffs shelter Ceibwr from the worst Atlantic storms and made it popular as a safe landing beach - for smugglers!
(Read Operation Seal Bay by Pat Molloy).

Ceibwr is well worth a visit in the early spring, when the cliffs turn to soft pink as the thrift blossoms and carpets the area. The cove at Ceibwr is often used by Atlantic grey seals as a place to shelter with their young cubs. Ceibwr is well mapped and documented and a favourite with many authors - Wynford Vaughan Thomas had his own hide away cottage just above the beach.
