The location is ideal for exploring Pembrokeshire with an abundance of beaches and coves within driving distance. Llys y Fran Country Park offers fishing, boating, walking and cycling. Nearby in Maenclochog is a massive stone-circle over 70 feet in diameter. The cottage is also within walking distance of the traditional Tafarn Sinc pub and restaurant, with a warm Welsh welcome, and another good restaurant at the Old Post Office.

The cottage overlooks the village green, the pond and the very pretty church. There are walks directly from the cottages (2 miles) to Llys y Fran Country Park and Reservoir which has a 6.5 mile perimeter and offers the chance to hire mountain bikes for a ride or a loch style boat for a fishing trip; you can even bring your own sailing boat if you wish. The Preseli Hills are nearby and offer some of Pembrokeshire's most beautiful and dramatic walking and scenery. Broad Haven beach is approx 12 miles and Newport is 12 miles, there are numerous other Blue Flag beaches within easy driving distance of the cottages. The County Town of Haverfordwest is just a 10 minute drive.

The cottage is surrounded by open rolling countryside and yet it is a short drive to Haverfordwest, Newgale and Broad Haven. Scolton Manor is close by and offers a great day out for all the family. Llys y Fran Country Park, Preseli Hills, Oakwood and, of course, the beaches and Pembrokeshire Coastal Path are all within a half hour drive of the cottage. There is a choice of several pubs approximately one and a half miles away. The surrounding lanes have a labyrinth of very well signposted footpaths.

This log cabin retreat is idyllically situated overlooking a lake on a rare breeds farm, close to the Preseli Hills. The owners keep prize winning sheep and Irish moiled cattle as well as a large collection of ornamental wildfowl on the lake and a few turkeys rescued from Christmas dinner several years ago! If you can tear yourself away from the cabin, the farm is on the edge of the National Park and offers an ideal location for touring Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire with easy access to the coast, villages and the larger towns.
