This tiny village of Mathry is ideally placed near the North Pembrokeshire coast, in fact just two miles from the beach at Abercastle. The beach is popular for safe bathing and boating. In summer it is a picturesque scene, with the variety of fishing boats casting their reflections on the tranquil water. Solva is a charming village set around a cosy harbour and with direct access to the Coastal Path. There are several pubs in the village (all of which serve food), a village store an excellent craft shop and galleries. In 1848 there was a passenger service from Solva Harbour to New York which could take up to 17 weeks and cost £3! St Davids (3m) is Britain's smallest city and well worth a visit to see the magnificent cathedral nesting in the valley. Newgale (4m) is an excellent surfing beach as is Whitesands beach (4m). The coastal bus service runs past the end of the road, making it a perfect base for walkers.

Situated just 300 yards from the beach, this tiny cottage was once the village bakery. Its original owner chose the site hoping that the delicious smell of baking bread would help him entice the lady next door into becoming his wife. Little Haven no longer boasts a village baker, however it does have an excellent choice of eating places and pubs all within a few minutes walk.
