Details

A delightful detached stone cottage situated on the Carmarthen/Cardiganshire border close to Newcastle Emlyn and within 20 minutes of Tresaith, New Quay and Penbryn beaches. There are numerous attractions close-by including the Teifi Valley Railway and the National Coracle centre at Cenarth Falls. There are a couple of pubs and restaurants which serve food within a 10 minute drive of the cottage. Newcastle Emlyn has a good range of shops and pubs as does Cardigan. The River Teifi offers excellent fishing.

Accommodation

Entrance is into the rear hallway with storage room for coats and holiday paraphernalia as well as a desk with computer and broadband connection. The quarry tiled hall leads through to the lovely cottage kitchen and dining room painted a mellow yellow. The kitchen area has a range of handmade cream kitchen cupboards with solid maple worktops, butler sink, a large cream oil-fired Aga cooker with 2 ovens and 2 hotplates, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave oven, slow cooker and grill machine. The dining area has French windows leading to a patio area within the garden; there is a large pine dresser and an antique pine dining table (doubles as a table tennis table!) with seating for 10. The sitting room has two windows overlooking the garden and a vista of the hills beyond, it has a large stone fireplace at one end with a multifuel stove, 2 large sofas, coffee table filled with games and puzzles, colour TV, DVD and Digibox; CD / radio, and a range of books and videos. There is a shower/utility room downstairs with a large shower cubicle & power shower, WC & wash hand basin as well as a washing machine. Stairs lead from the sitting room to the 3 bedrooms and bathroom, all of which overlook the garden. The master bedroom has a kingsize bed, chest of drawers and bedside cabinets. Bedroom 2 has a double bed with access from 1 side only, chest of drawers and hanging space in the built-in wardrobe on the landing. Bedroom 3 has a small 4' double bed (cosy for 2, spacious for 1) with access from one side only, bedside shelves, under-bed storage, cot and hanging space in the built-in wardrobe on the landing. All the beds have duvets and will be made up with fresh linen for your arrival. The family bathroom has a sloping ceiling with a suite of bath, WC and wash hand basin, heated towel rail and airing cupboard. Towels included in the rental. A standard cot, highchair and two fitted stair gates are provided. Up to 2 pets are welcome. No smoking. There are electric heaters, an Aga and a woodburning stove, fuel is included in the rental from May to September & charged for at a flat rate of £30 per week (payable to owner) at all other times. There is off road parking for 3 or 4 cars. There is a lovely large garden with one acre of mown area and a further acre field with lovely views of the Preseli Hills. There is garden furniture, a barbecue, a trampoline (used strictly at your own risk) and children's garden toys. The field is available for equine use by separate negotiation. There is a 15ft above ground round pool. Visitors are welcome to use. Children must be supervised at all times. Use of the pool (strictly at your own risk.)
