Situated in the village of Furnace, close to the Furnace falls, Ynys Hir Nature Reserve, the Dovey Estuary and the scenic Artists Valley, this large former village smithy grade 2 listed building makes a fabulous holiday base. The thriving market town of Machynlleth is 6 miles north and Aberystwyth is 12 miles south. Aberdovey is a half hour drive with stunning scenery along the way. Borth, 6 miles away, boasts one of Ceredigion's longest and most golden of beaches - stretching over two miles to Ynyslas and the Dyfi National Nature Reserve. There is a pub within 2 miles and a fine dining restaurant 10 minutes walk away. This really is a beautiful part of the world and well worth exploring.
Entrance is into the utility hallway with an American style fridge/freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer and coat/shoe space. The contemporary kitchen and breakfast room with slate walls and oak and aubergine kitchen units incorporates a halogen hob, double oven, microwave oven, dishwasher and an antique pine table with chairs. A welcome hamper of Welsh produce awaits you. The extremely spacious sitting and dining room has high open beamed ceilings and a stone fireplace with a gas "woodburner" type stove, it is furnished with a large sofa, corner sofa, comfy chairs, large TV with DVD, video and a selection of DVDs and videos, CD player with iPod docking station and a dining table and 8 chairs. There are 4 bedrooms. Family bedroom 1 accessed via its own staircase and has exposed A frame ships timber beams and colour washed walls, it is furnished with a king sized bed and a 4' bed suitable for one, a pine dressing table with drawers and a built in wardrobe. Bedrooms 2 and 3 area accessed via two slate steps form the lounge. Bedroom 2 has a double bed, bedside tables, wardrobe and a dressing table. Bedroom 3 has twin beds, bedside table, dressing table and a wardrobe. Bedroom 4 is accessed from the hallway between the kitchen and the lounge and is a family room. It has a double bed and a single bed, a large wardrobe, pine box with mirror and bedside tables. All the beds are made up with fresh linen for your arrival. There is a bathroom and a shower room on the ground floor. The bathroom has a suite of bath, WC and wash hand basin. The shower room has a shower cubicle, WC and wash hand basin. Towels may be hired at £3 per guest. A travel cot, highchair and stairgate are available. No pets. No smoking in the property. Heating is by night storage haters and gas fire, all fuel is charged for by meter reading; please pay the owner at the end of your holiday. There is parking for up to 5 cars behind the property. There are two patio areas, one to the fore of the property in a three sided sunny courtyard by the roadside or one at the back of the house, again in a sunny spot. Table, chairs and a gas barbecue are provided for your use.
