Details

Idyllically situated in the heart of the countryside, this striking barn conversion was once an old Granary and has now been renovated into an ideal retreat for couples wanting to get away from it all. The Granary is an ideal location for touring the surrounding countryside, visiting the Botanic Gardens of Wales with its immense glass house, Dylan Thomas Boat house in Laugharne and many places of historical interest. Within easy driving distance from the cottage there are a selection of sandy beaches to visit along this spectacular coastline of South Pembrokeshire.

Accommodation

The owners, who live nearby, have taken care to keep as many of the original features as possible and have decorated and furnished the cottage to a high standard. The entrance opens into kitchen/dining room, full of character with extensive exposed stone walls and slate flag stone floors throughout. The kitchen is fitted with pine units, electric cooker, microwave oven, fridge freezer and an automatic washing machine. The dining area contains a pine table with matching chairs. The conservatory leads off the kitchen enjoying a panoramic view of the surrounding countryside and overlooks the old waterfalls where wildlife abounds. The conservatory is furnished with a comfortable sofa, easy chair, colour TV with Freeview, a CD/tape/radio system, coffee table and items of occasional furniture. The double doors open off the conservatory lounge onto a lawned garden, which has a decked area, which overlooks the millpond, waterfall and stream, where one can sit and relax, with a glass of wine, as this is an ideal suntrap. The ground floor shower room contains a shower cubicle with electric shower, wash hand basin and WC. The old beams and trusses set high up in the ceiling are still visible and a spiral staircase leads from the dining area to the gallery bedroom above. The bedroom has a wooden floor with colourful rugs, solid wood double bed, wardrobe and dressing table with colour TV with Freeview. Pretty bedlinen and a duvet are provided for the bed. There is mains water, full oil central heating throughout the property and all water, electricity and oil is charged for at a flat rate of £15 per week (not applicable for weeks in July and August) payable to the owner in cash on arrival. There is ample parking in the courtyard. Regrettably no pets. No smoking inside the property please. Towels are included in the rental.
