Almost on top of the hill overlooking Fishguard Bay and Dinas Island, this lovely barn conversion is situated on a 127 acre working farmstead. The owner has a passion for Highland Ponies (stallions, mares and foals), rare breed Silver Dun Galloway cattle, Black and Badger Face Welsh Mountain sheep as well as free- range geese, ducks and chickens. Guests and their well-behaved pets are offered the freedom of the farm providing the countryside code is strictly adhered to - remember to bring your wellies! The barn is situated close to the stables and in the midst of the farm activity, stables are available for guests' horses if required. The Coastal Path is only a mile away as is the beautiful little beach of Aberbach. The village of Dinas which has a couple of general stores and several pubs is one and a half miles distant. The village of Llanychaer with pub, post office and church is half a mile down the lane.

Accommodation

The barn has been converted to provide "upside down living". Entrance is into a very spacious hallway with quarry tiled floor with space for boots, coats etc and a games table providing seven games, there is also a full size ping pong table in one of the outbuildings. The spacious bedrooms are on the ground floor and have whitewashed stone walls and carpet. Bedroom 1 has a kingsize iron bedstead, wardrobe, dressing table, bedside tables and a chair. Bedroom 2 has twin beds, chest of drawers, bedside table and a wardrobe. Bedlinen and towels are included in the rental. The bathroom has a white suite of roll top slipper bath, separate shower cubicle, WC and wash hand basin. Upstairs is one large open-plan room with attractive local paintings and artwork. This spectacular room has exposed A-frame beams, stone walls, wooden floorboards with rugs and low windows with sea and mountain views. The cosy sitting area is at one end of the room and has a woodburning stove on a tiled hearth, two comfortable sofas and an armchair, coffee table, small colour TV with DVD. The dining area is in the centre of the room and has an old farmhouse pine dining table with 6 chairs. The kitchen is at the other end of the room and has a Shaker style kitchen and island unit with a large electric range cooker which has two ovens and a ceramic hob, a Belfast sink, dishwasher and fridge. There is freezer space available in one of the outbuildings. The owner is hoping to offer home cooked meals from the freezer, please enquire at the time of booking if you are interested. A travel cot, highchair and stair gate are available on request. Up to two dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a lead when outside and remain either in the tiled hallway or they can use a large kennel and run available on the farm. Heating is included as is the first basket of logs - there are more available from the owner at cost. Ample parking space. No smoking in the barn. There is a stock-fenced garden area to the rear of the property which enjoys the stunning sea views and has garden furniture and a barbecue. You may use the owner's washing machine or she will do your washing for you. A babysitting service is available.
