Golden Grove village with its historic mansion and deer park is about 1 mile from the cottages and Llandeilo, the ancient market town, is about three and a half miles.Llandeilo is situated in the heart of the Towy Valley and has an interesting selection of individual shops, galleries and eateries.You can also enjoy a fabulous woodland walk straight from the front door or explore one of the many castles in the area.
Carmarthenshire is known as the Garden of Wales and the National Botanic Garden of Wales and Aberglasney (a garden lost in time) are just over 2 miles away.There is superb fishing in the area too with the river Towy providing excellent Salmon and Sewin (sea trout) fishing, whilst for those more active the cottages are located between several excellent mountain bike trails.
For nature lovers, the area abounds with wildlife, with red kites, owls, badgers and deer regularly seen from the barns.The Gower Peninsular has some wonderful beaches with great surfing, including Three Cliffs Bay which is less than 25 miles away.The Black Mountain and Brecon Beacons National Park (which is viewable from the gardens) make an excellent day trip.

A fabulous romantic setting overlooking Abercastle beach with sunsets visible from the upstairs lounge windows over the bay. The waters edge is ony 80 yards from the cottage, as is the coastal path, which has amazing walks in both directions.
From the beach visitors can see the local fishermen going out to sea for their daily catch and their boats add a splash of colour and interest to the sandy bottom harbour.
