At low tide you can walk across the Estuary to the Traeth Mawr (big beach) with its extensive silver sands and patrolled swimming areas. A favourite pursuit with local children is to catch crabs from the sea wall at high tide using a string and bacon as bait.

The beach has golden sands, its own waterfall and is flanked by dramatic cliffs. A coastal walk leads you to more sandy beaches at Aberporth, Llangrannog and Penbryn. The village provides an Inn which serves food, a village shop, beach stores.

There is lots of boating activity for you to enjoy right from the comfort of this home from home or you can take a stroll along the promenade to the Marina where there is a pleasant cafe bar. There are some glorious beaches such as Musselwick and Marloes, Dale and Freshwater East within easy driving distance. Boat and diving trips can be taken from the Marina and there is a boat club and public slipway and pontoon 5 minutes walk away.
Black Rock Boathouse enjoys a wonderful location right on the water front at Dale beach. Dale is famous for it's watersports with sailing and windsurfing being very popular here. At the end of the bay is St Anne's Head with a lighthouse that guides shipping into Milford Haven Waterway. Marloes beach is close by and you can take a boat trip from Martins Haven to the bird islands of Skomer, Skokholm and Grassholm where you will see numerous breeds including Puffins, Gannets, Shearwaters and Choughs. Pembrokeshire Coastal Path is accessed right outside the property and begs to be walked. The Griffin pub in the village serves good food. MONDAY changeover.
