Llangollen is a Town on the A5 southwest of Wrexham. Popular with canoeists due to the Dee River here containing some challenging sections – especially after some good rainfall.
There’s plenty to keep you occupied at Llangollen even if you don’t enjoy canoeing. Within walking distance of the Town centre are Plas Newydd House and Gardens, the Pavilion, Llangollen Museum and a lovely section of the Shropshire Union Canal (Llangollen Branch). A short drive out of Town will take you to the Llangollen Motor Museum – which is well worth the trip.
There are a good selection of shops to browse through and Llangollen also has a number of pubs and restaurants to keep you well fed.
