It\u2019s a popular spot with watersports enthusiasts, offering plenty of opportunities to try your hand at jet-skiing, snorkelling, and swimming. Lifeguards patrol the beach during the summer months.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For those bringing their four-legged friends along for the adventure, Lydstep beach is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.welsh-cottages.co.uk\/blog\/dog-friendly-beaches-in-pembrokeshire\">dog-friendly beach in Pembrokeshire<\/a>. Dogs are allowed year-round on the southern section of the beach. You\u2019ll find an onsite cafe and toilets, but the amenities of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.welsh-cottages.co.uk\/newport-holiday-cottages.html\">Newport<\/a> are just a short walk away.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For golf fans, an 18 hole course backs onto the beach. The beach is a popular <a href=\"https:\/\/www.welsh-cottages.co.uk\/blog\/surfing-beaches-in-wales\">surfing beach in Pembrokeshire<\/a>, producing smaller waves which are ideal for less experienced surfers. It stretches from Laugharne Sands to Gilman Point but gets its name from the small village of\u00a0 Pendine which can be found close by.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The beach has a unique history &#8211; while you might associate the coast with surfing, swimming, and sailing, Pendine Sands was actually a racing hub for cars and motorbikes! The flat sand along the shores lets visitors drive a car over without the worry of getting stuck.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Nearest place to eat:<\/strong> As the name suggests, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/teabytheseapendine\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tea By The Sea<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> serves up indulgent afternoon teas along the seafront. A lovely (and well-deserved) treat after a good walk along the beach!<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>2. Cefn Sidan Beach<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2358\" src=\"https:\/\/www.welsh-cottages.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2021\/08\/resized-image-Promo-2021-08-24T120428.223.jpeg\" alt=\"Cefn Sidan Beach\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Set within the picturesque Pembrey County Park, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.welsh-cottages.co.uk\/blog\/cefn-sidan-beach\">Cefn Sidan Beach<\/a> was the first in Wales to receive the Blue Flag award and is one of our favourite beaches in West Wales. With over eight miles of soft, golden sand to discover, there\u2019s plenty of room for everyone &#8211; even in the busy summer months. Given its size, you\u2019ll find a variety of amenities and facilities along its shores, including a beach kiosk, toilets, and lifeguard patrols between May and September.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The lovely thing about the beach is that you\u2019ll also be close to all the scenic walking routes through the park and the nearby woodlands. Visitors can also take part in a whole host of activities, from toboggan rides to laser tag and even ski lessons!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Nearest place to eat:<\/strong> For homecooked food made from fresh, Welsh produce, head over to the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.shipagroundpembrey.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ship Aground Pembrey<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Less than a ten-minute drive from the park, this friendly offers a great menu and an excellent selection of local ales and gins.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><b>3. Ferryside Beach<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2359\" src=\"https:\/\/www.welsh-cottages.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2021\/08\/resized-image-Promo-2021-08-24T120610.279.jpeg\" alt=\"Ferryside Beach\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A narrow, sandy beach tucked away at the mouth of the River Tywi, Ferryside Beach is the perfect choice for those who prefer escaping the crowds and finding their own private paradise! A lovely spot to sit and watch the boats sail by or even have a picnic, it\u2019s no wonder that the bay is part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.welsh-cottages.co.uk\/blog\/explore-wales-coast-path\">Wales Coast Path<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once a popular spot for cockle gathering, you\u2019ll find a number of rock pools along the shore &#8211; a great way to keep the kids entertained as they search for signs of marine line within them!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Nearest place to eat: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/TheFerryCabin\/?locale=en_GB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ferry Cabin Cafe<\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in Ferryside serves a mouthwatering array of dishes, from fresh fish and chips to tasty burgers, perfect after enjoying a sunset stroll along the beach.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><b>Planning on visiting one of these West Wales beaches?
