“We enjoyed our stay at Pinner cottage and found it comfortable and in a great location, close to the starting points for some lovely walks.”

“It's probably not suitable for anyone with mobility issues , like me.”

The stairs are very narrow and steep, which with the toilet downstairs makes it awkward in the evenings. The road is noisy until 7pm and being terraced has some noise from the adjoining properties. Good bedroom's, nice kitchen . Knighton centre is close and very good hospitality from locals. Offas dyke also close.

“Lovely clean comfortable cottage opposite Offa's Dyke Centre.”

Number of artisan shops, local pubs & top chippy in this friendly, traditional old market town with rail station on scenic Heart of Wales line. We will definitely return to this cottage.

“Generally a very comfortable stay, with a lovely vase of roses and small welcome pack to greet us - a nice touch.”

Things which we thought were lacking and easily fixed - no cafetière or similar for making coffee, and only a J cloth for the dishes, inadequate when there was no dishwasher. We bought a small washing up brush in the village.

Terraced outside area would benefit from a couple of chairs,a hairdryer and a cafetiere in kitchen.Those less mobile need to be aware of step from lounge to kitchen,kitchen to downstairs bathroom and steps to access outside space. Very prompt response from property owner regarding a query we had and location fantastic for Offas Dyke.Great WiFi

“Ideally located with parking opposite.”

Everything you need to have a breakaway. All facilities in good order. Reservations as to whether anyone with mobility issues would be able to access all areas. Steep staircase. High step lounge to kitchen. Shower controls. Overall a nice place to stay with local facilities and transport links.

“Lovely cozy cottage.”

Amazingly comfy beds, well equipped, very clean and tidy, good supply of towels, a very generous welcome pack to start you off, smart TV, internet was brilliant, lovely log burner for cozy evenings after time out walking. Try the Offa's Dyke Trail, you can plant your feet in both Wales and England at the same time :) and it's a lovely walk along the river. Mostly everyone you meet says hello, it's a very friendly town. Lovely neighbor, not intrusive but happy to pass the time of day if you bump into him. Lot's of places to eat, we ate at The Banc for a birthday celebration and went back on a weekday evening (Specials on Monday and Tuesday, mains for £10), really friendly. A compliment for Claire (sorry if it is mis-spelled) at the Horse & Jockey, lovely and friendly and very informative. Watsons Real Ale House, you can buy a chippy tea from next door and take it in with you to sample the ales. The Little Black Sheep Café, very cozy and friendly, lovely staff/owner, although there are lots of Cafes to eat at and all look lovely and welcoming. All eating/shopping places withing a few minutes walk away, Costcutter, the butchers in town serves all your needs and very friendly too, lots of lovely little shops. The Co-op is a little further away but also easily walkable for anyone mobile, although I would suggest you take the car as, although the entrance is small, it opens up like a Tardis, you could buy practically anything here. We have loved our time here and would definitely visit again.

“We had a great holiday.”

Pinners Cottage is ideally situated with great walks from the door, and yet has shops, cafes and pubs very close by. Cosy and comfortable too, and flowers and basket of goodies made us feel very welcome. There are steep steps at this property and take a cafetiere with you if you like real coffee.

It was confortable and well located The welcome pact being an appreciated bonus. We loved that we could start so many walks in the such beautiful countryside from just outside the cottage. Knighton itself is very friendly with good options to eat and drink. We plan to return to Pinner Cottage and Knighton.

“Knighton is an ideal place for walking holidays and the location and facilities of this cottage suit us very well.”

So much so that we are thinking of booking for a third stay. Standard of cleanliness is great, and although quite small it has everything we require for a comfortable stay. There is a step down from the kitchen to the sitting room which could take one by surprise, but not a significant issue.

“A lovely, cosy cottage.”

Very clean and bright. Bed is very comfy. Could maybe do with a small table and chair set/ bench of some sort to enjoy the garden more. It is requested to leave the property 'as you find it' so maybe a broom/ small hoover to enable better cleaning?! There was just a small brush and pan! I would like to point out the step from lounge to kitchen is quite high, i suffer arthritis in hips and legs so did find it a little difficult but not too much of a problem. Overall we had a lovely relaxing stay, thank you. Mrs Russell

Great location for walking. The stairs would be challenging for anyone with any mobility issues, although we appreciated the floor light on the stairs that came on with movement.

It was so clean and there was everything we needed there. Very comfy, quiet and welcoming. I'm looking to come back in November. The location was perfect, such a lovely town. We had a fantastic meal at The Banc. There's a co-op which has everything you need. It's a great place if you want a quiet break.

“It was evident that this was a new venture for this property.”

Exceptionally clean and beautifully decorated, very warm, and the facility to change the heating, no mention that the unit to do this was free standing and separate from the boiler. Lots of storage in the kitchen. Advertised as having internet connection which was not the case, we had both intended to do some work whilst away which was very inconvenient. You would need to be steady on your feet, many steps, some very deep within the property and stairs were a little difficult if not sure footed. Some explanation into what we assume was a shared gate to access terrace at rear, a chair or seat of some kind would have been nice at the top of the garden. We were only two, I can imagine four adults would have been very cosy. We could have used a broom to keep floors swept. The table was untreated wood and we were concerned to keep it clean, a wipeable tablecloth might be a consideration before it gets more marked. The owners telephone number on the top of the cottage information has a digit missing. Somewhere obvious to hang wet coats would have been good. Very minor, a towel for the downstairs bathroom would have been nice. I think probably only comments that need sharing are its cleanliness, there is no internet, there are a lot of steps within the property probably not suitable for elderly and that it was ideal for 2 or 3, however 4 adults would be cosy.

“It was a beautiful cottage in beautiful surroundings.”

Lovely touch of flowers and welcome basket, especially as celebrating my mom and dad's Golden Anniversary. We all Thoroughly enjoyed our break..Not one to complain but the shower in the cottage was not at it's best...only a trickle of water came out, and temperature kept changing from very Hot to cold..just thought I would mention it for improvement.However, Thank you Sykes cottages.

“This lovely little cottage is right opposite the tourist information centre, a short walk from several pubs and restaurants and two national footpaths (not to mention numerous other rights of way).”

We would highly recommend it for the location and comfort, although it would be a squeeze for four people. Bear in mind there was no wifi but we did get 4G signal and phone signal.

The charming market town of Knighton nestles amidst lovely countryside on the banks of the River Teme, which straddles the English/Welsh border.
