    “This cottage could be really special but unfortunately it felt a bit neglected to us and there were various aspects which impacted our stay.”

    The kitchen was tricky, no door shelves for the fridge, trying to stack a week's worth of food shopping when there's nowhere to put any bottles was challenging. Had to rearrange the kitchen cupboards as there was no free space to put any food away. None of the knives were sharp, very difficult to cut an onion. Washing machine cupboard broken. An odd selection of glasses available, one real wine glass. Lounge, new sofas were lovely and comfortable, however the arm is falling off one of them, ...

We were unable to get TV signal all week. There is a dvd player but no dvds. Fortunately there is also a HDMI to usb c connector so we could mirror a streaming service from our phone but not ideal. The bathroom had mould and and is very tired looking. Bed is big and fairly comfortable. Odd to not have any hanging space for clothes at all. There's a nook in the corner which could easily accommodate a hanging rail/tallboy as the room is a lovely big size. We primarily booked this cottage for the outside space and it is a beautiful, peaceful place. Again it just needs maintenance. The secure fencing at the top back had all fallen down so we propped this back up but had to watch our dogs closely. Gate coming off hinges. Deck chairs shown in photos are rotten and couldn't see any cushions for them. We went and bought a couple camping chairs from Tesco to use if we didn't want to sit at the picnic bench. Hot tub lovely and seemed well maintained. I'm sorry to leave a negative review as the cottage itself is very charming, the area is remote and peaceful. I just wanted to mention the things which personally impacted our stay as an honest review as hopefully a lot of this could be easily rectified. We are not particularly fussy and we stay in a lot of older properties so understand there will always be quirks and damp. It just felt a little difficult to live in this cottage which is not what you want from a holiday.

A cute semi-detached cottage attached to a church, full of character nestled in the little valley hamlet of Llaithddu, situated a short drive from the village of Llanbadarn Fynydd with its popular pub.

The cottage is a perfect place for couples or a small family to relax in peaceful surroundings and explore the fantastic local scenery or simply relax in the luxurious hot tub.

Set over two floors, there is a real feeling of stepping back in time as you enter this quaint cottage which also offers all the mod cons.

Inside, you will find two comfy bedrooms and a family bathroom set over the first floor.

There is a well-equipped, modern, galley style kitchen with intimate dining area and a comfortable sitting room with a large sofa to sink into in front of the woodburning stove after a day spent exploring the fabulous local countryside.

Outside, you can sit on the raised patio and enjoy a BBQ or just while away some time whilst relaxing in the hot tub as the evening draws in and planning your future day’s adventures.

Being surrounded by delightful countryside opens up fabulous walking in the undulating landscape of the Welsh Marches.

The Shropshire Hills AONB is just a 10 mile drive away which offers pretty villages and towns with black and white houses surrounding picture perfect squares.

The area offers numerous outdoor activities such as fabulous walks, a variety of cycle trails, fantastic wildlife spotting opportunities at local reserves or the Elan Valley lakes, including the impressive red kites.

For something a little different, perhaps take a pony trek into the mountains, a round of golf or a more sedate activity such as fishing on the River Wye.

Slightly further afield, to the north you will find the magnificent National Trust’s Powis Castle, 23 miles, a stunning property surrounded by manicured gardens, Italianate gardens and terraces or perhaps pop for an afternoon tea at the picturesque Glansevern Gardens, 18 miles.

A thirty minute drive south will take you to the Victorian spa town of Llandrindod Wells, a popular base for cyclists or a little further on is Builth Wells, home of the Royal Welsh Showground and its associated events calendar.

A perfect retreat in a quaint hamlet with a superb hot tub to relax in as the sun goes down.
