Brickfield Cottage

We were very happy with the house.

Location to the town so convenient. We know this area very well, but are always travelling through, so good to get to know the town better and made to feel so welcome. Thank you.

A very cosy and comfortable cottage in a great location.

It was very clean and had everything that we needed for a great stay.

The cottage was in a good quiet location with a designated parking space opposite.

The accommodation was spacious, well appointed and welcoming. The location of the property was excellent for using the local train service to visit towns such as Aberystwyth and Barmouth. The owner was friendly and helpful. My husband is disabled and we did point out a couple of things to make the property more disabled friendly.

It’s in a great location within easy access of the railway station, buses and only two minutes from the lovely town centre. Wonderful!

Brickfield Cottage is a lovely modernised property, very clean and well equipped with private parking (always a bonus!

) The location is excellent, being tucked away in a little cul-de-sac overlooking fields at the back containing the owner's ponies and chickens yet less than 5 minutes walk to the town centre. The little patio is a real suntrap in good weather. Machynlleth is a great base for outings to the north and the south of the great river Dyfi estuary. There are lots of places to visit to suit all tastes. We had a great week there.

A great place to stay and explore the area just of the high street with everything you need to hand but still very quiet first class cottage great parking and coast and hills very accessible just a great break

An excellent property, so warm, quiet, comfortable and clean.

The cottage is also very well situated. However, it has become customary practice for holiday cottages to provide butter knives for holiday makers to chop their vegetables and to slice their bread, Brickfield Cottage is top of the list. A knife block taking up space on limited surfaces with at least four large and impressive knives of the chocolate tea pot variety. One small veg knife in the cutlery drawer that made my meal prep an utterly miserable experience.

Excellent cottage, clean, comfortable and well maintained.

Off street parking and ideal for local transport. Convenient for local shops but a quiet area. Would recommend! All in all a lovely holiday, thank you!

The holiday cottage was very clean, warm and comfortable.

The owner was very nice and wanted to make sure that we were happy in the cottage. Machynlleth is a great market town and an excellent train station for trips up or down the coast.

Very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Easy to walk in to town and good links to other areas, Barmouth, Aberystwyth and mach loop not far away. Lots of beautiful scenery around.

Quiet are of the town but handy for local shops, cafe and restaurants.. A good location to visit many of the local attractions and surrounded by lovely countryside. Well positioned on the Cambrian railway line to provide days out without using the car.

Cottage was amazing it had everything you could ever need, the location great for days out and lovely to be able to walk into the town, we had some lovely food in the local pub the white lion so overall we had a really nice break

Enjoyed our week at Brickfield Cottage which had everything needed for our stay.

The cottage was very clean and well maintained, parking was easy right opposite the cottage. The view across the fields from the rear of the property was lovely and it was nice to see the ponies and chickens each morning. The location is very convenient for visiting local attractions and just a couple of minutes walk from shops and pubs. The owners who live next to the property were very helpful and welcoming without being intrusive. There is a public footpath next to the property which takes you through the fields and to the river which made for a very nice early evening walk.

In a quiet corner in Machynlleth. The cottage was very warm and cosy.The owners were nice and advised us on places to go/visit. It’s 2-3 minutes to pubs and restaurants.

Lovely cottage which has been recently refurbished.

Cottage looks out onto fields and the hills beyond. Nicely equipped with everything you need, which if you are like us, and do a lot of your own cooking, is very important. Outdoor area for eating and drinking while taking in the surroundings.Positioned close to the town, a large Co-op is only 10 minutes away. The town has a veggie/ vegan cafe as well as a gluten free cafe. All the surrounding attractions are within easy driving distance. Even though we stopped in August we found the whole area to be very quiet, no issues with parking. Plus the local district council charge sensible parking charges. The valleys are particularly beautiful with some lovely walks. Nice beach between Aberdyfi and Tywyn which we swam off. If you want shops then Aberystwyth is about 30 minutes drive but obviously busy and more difficult to park. You can take the train though.

The cottage was lovely and the location was really convenient for walking into the town and for visiting beaches and attractions nearby.

A 1st class cosy, clean,comfortable, cottage in a central, quiet and convenient location.

Easy and safe parking very near and opposite the cottage. The patio area is a sun trap. We appreciated the welcome pack and the friendliness of Patricia, the owner.

Comfortable and peaceful, with lovely walks, shops, restaurants and public transport just a short walk from the front door.

Very nice clean small cottage.

Good views of horses in the field and the hills from the rear windows, but unfortunately the fence is too high to see them when sitting at the table on the small patio.

This is a lovely cottage in an excellent location for exploring mid Wales.

The cottage is extremely well furnished and equipped and, though in the middle of town, very quiet. The owner, who lives next door, was very helpful with a problem we had with noisy central heating and immediately called a plumber who cured it.

It is a lovely cottage, if you want to get away to relax.

Such a cosy, welcoming cottage, quietly tucked away 2 minutes from all the amenities in the High Street.

The property was immaculate, warm and comfortable and very well equipped for self catering. Machynlleth was a perfect base for walking the Wales Coast Path, with excellent public transport of trains and buses. We could happily live there!

The cottage is very well equipped and everything you would usually have at home was present. The owner who lives next door was very welcoming without being intrusive. We would definitely stay here again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the cottage had everything we needed and more, we will surely return again and recommended it to others.

We had visited before so knew what to expect and we were not disappointed.

We did find that the bathroom had a drain type smell. We did inform the owners at the time. We did not get on very well with the coffee machine as the filter container would not stay closed. Other than that we were very happy and comfortable and are quite likely to visit again.

This lovely cottage was cosy and provided all the facilities you could want.

Plenty of space and a really comfy bed. WiFi was upgraded during our stay and did improve our signal. We received a warm welcome and the recommendation to go to Barmouth made for a super day. Just 10 mins walk to the station (using shortcut through Brickfield St). We went to Aberystwyth and Barmouth on the train which worked really well. Drove to Aberdovey and Borth. All trips were excellent. Must recommend Myrddins Tap in Barmouth for beer and food, Kanes Bar in Aberystwyth for cider. Excellent lamb shank in White Lion and brisket roast in Red Lion, both Machynlleth. Market day was busy with some great buys. We were very lucky having glorious weather so holiday couldn't have been better.

It was a beautifully clean welcoming cottage.

The owners were friendly and very helpful. We had a problem with the bed which had been broken previously and was very uncomfortable but they replaced it the next day. No problem at all. Lovely area outside to sit and admire the view, sheltered and sunny For most of our stay. Easy walk up into town, private parking by the cottage too. Easy to go either to the beaches or up the hills for a day out. Very good holiday.

Fabulous place to stay, place as been refurbished and is like new, kitchen as everything you need to cook if you don’t fancy eating out, hosts made us feel really welcome and even gave us toys for our children to play with.

Great location as can walk to shops bubs etc and good place to visit lots of wonderful places in wales.

Brickfield Cottage is a beautifully presented cottage with everything supplied for a great holiday.

The owners were friendly and welcoming and full of useful information about the locality. The location is superb with beautiful views out to the hills while being only a couple of hundred yards form the centre of this lovely little market town. The main street has a wide choice of independent shops, restaurants an tea shops. A perfect centre for a walking holiday and for exploring the towns and villages of the nearby coast. We shall definitely return.
