Lovely accommodation and location- views were stunning and constantly changing!

Comfortable beds and plenty of space. Appreciated the additional crockery/glasses provided in response to previous reviews. Location is great and easy to visit many places in the Gower. Stunning local beaches and walks. Hot tub was a welcome bonus and we enjoyed using it- brief instructions on operation would have been useful. Very much enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend.

Burry House is in a stunning location with fabulous views from the main bedroom, dining room and garden.

It was spotlessly clean and very spacious. We spent enjoyable evenings in the hot tub, loving the beautiful sunsets and the stars. Although the kitchen was large with a great deal of cupboard space, we did not feel it was well equipped. The cooker was small and old and tripped the electrics when in full swing. It was not adequate for the number of people the house could accommodate. There was an air fryer which helped to a degree. There was a lovely large freezer but one large fridge would have been useful. One of the two small fridges (also with freezer compartments) was full of water in the bottom and no vegetable compartment. As someone who cooks from scratch, I found the kitchen a bit of a struggle. The bedrooms were lovely and large with plenty of cupboard space and drawers. The beds were on the soft side. The dining room and sitting room, with large wall mounted TV, were very comfortable.

We had a wonderful week at Burry House and would love to come back!

The house is comfortable and spacious, with lovely views from the rear windows which perfectly frame the gorgeous sunsets. The hot tub is great. We all slept well in very comfortable beds. The dogs enjoyed the garden. The house is within easy reach of delightful beaches and countryside. Oxwich Bay was our favourite for ease of access. Sadly, we had the same issues as previous reviewers have mentioned: difficulty finding the property on the first day from the postcode given, difficulty locking the back door, the electricity tripping when using the cooker. The recycling bags did not seem to accept plastic? We used the garden storage to place bin bags as there are no dustbins. All of these were sorted quickly but caused frustration at the time. I think a new cooker would greatly improve the kitchen. Also, more small kitchen knives and a metal sieve. The slimline dishwasher is too small for the size of property and number of guests, which means a lot of time at the sink doing washing up. Overall, the property is a really lovely holiday home. I hope this review does not read too negatively, as we will happily return!!

The property is in a beautiful location and the house makes the most of the amazing views- particular from the master bedroom.

All beds seemed comfy and the sofas were comfortable too. Sadly, the kitchen really lets this property down. Only 1 small fridge, a slimline dishwasher (this property sleeps 8), no microwave, chipped crockery from around 3 different sets, mugs that had family pictures and happy Mother’s Day on them, not enough tumbler glasses, no oven gloves and the dryer doesn’t work. It felt like the kitchen had been thrown together from a charity shop. A number of items had to be washed before they could be used (oven trays and cutlery) Considering there’s such a huge utility room, many of these issues could be rectified by utilising this. There’s no welcome book which means you don’t know what to do with the rubbish/recycling or any info on the property. Communication with the owners was good, but this could be lessened with a welcome book. No clue how to work the heating so we ended up opening the windows as the heating kept coming on when it was warm. Also agree with the previous holidaymakers - the back door is difficult to lock. The property has such potential and the furniture in all the other rooms seemed well chosen- the kitchen was like the forgotten part of the property.

We were pleased to hear you enjoyed the location, the outstanding views are a consistent highlight of all our guest reviews. Following your visit, we carefully reviewed every point raised and carried out a full winter upgrade programme to the property. We have now addressed each of the issues you mentioned and the upgraded property is ready to welcome guests for the 2026 season. • Kitchen equipment & appliances. The kitchen has been full restocked and upgraded. We have installed a larger fridge and freezer, added a microwave, increased glassware and crockery so it comfortably caters for 8 guests, and replaced all mixed/chipped items with a matching new set. • Utensils & cleanliness – All trays, cutlery and cooking equipment have been replaced and a new inventory checklist is now part of our housekeeping process to ensure everything is ready to use on arrival. • Oven gloves – Provided and included in the kitchen pack. • Utility room use – The utility area is now organised for guest use with clear storage and additional supplies. • Welcome information – We have created a comprehensive printed welcome guide which now explains heating controls, appliance use, rubbish/recycling, local recommendations and property information. • Heating controls – The heating system has been adjusted and instructions are included in the welcome guide so guests can easily control temperature. • Back door lock – The lock mechanism has been serviced and replaced to ensure smooth and secure locking. • Kitchen presentation – The kitchen has been refreshed and re-equipped so it now reflects the standard of the rest of the home. We truly took this feedback on board and used it constructively. The property has benefited significantly from guest suggestions and we continue to make improvements each season.

We found Burry house very spacious, the beds were really comfortable and the sea views were amazing.

Our dogs loved the large garden which was fully secure. Unfortunately there were maintenance issues which we discovered early on in the week. The master bedroom- panel at the bottom of the bed was broken. Double bedroom- headboard broken. Upstairs shower- huge amount of mould all around the bottom seal. Back door wouldn't lock. Tumble dryer didn't work. No welcome pack/guide which is very odd. No outside bins (had to call to ask where to put rubbish bags) Kitchen- doesn't have an extractor fan above the cooker so kept setting the smoke alarm off. Also, theres an oil filled boiler in the kitchen and the fumes each day were very strong. I think if all these points were addressed then I'd be giving 5 stars. The house would also benefit from dusting as there's alot if cobwebs. We still had a lovely week, it's a shame that there were alot of house maintenance issues, this should all be checked upon the previous customers leaving.

Following your stay, we carried out a comprehensive maintenance review of the property and addressed each of the points you raised. The home has since undergone a significant programme of repairs, upgrades and improved housekeeping procedures. We have now completed the following: • Master bedroom bed panel has been Repaired and reinforced. • Double bedroom headboard has been Replaced. • Upstairs shower seal has been Fully treated, resealed and deep cleaned. • Back door lock has been Repaired and new locking mechanism installed. • Welcome information in the form of a detailed printed welcome guide has been created, covering appliances, heating, house information and local guidance. • Bins & rubbish information have been upgraded with External bins clearly provided and full waste/recycling instructions included in the welcome guide. • Boiler has been Serviced and checked by engineers; operating safely and correctly. • Cleaning standards are now carried out to a higher standard and we introduced a new professional housekeeping checklist, deep cleans between stays and regular inspection visits to prevent cobwebs and ensure presentation standards are maintained. We genuinely appreciate constructive feedback as it helps us improve the guest experience. Many of the upgrades carried out during the winter period came directly from guest suggestions, and the property is now presented to a significantly higher standard.
