The property

Fishguard 5.9 miles. Overlooking the Gwaun Valley, Sycamore House is a picture-perfect, detached, three-storey cottage in Pontfaen near Fishguard, Pembrokeshire.

The cottage makes for a wonderful family holiday, with plenty of space for all guests to sit together watching TV, or have some quiet time alone, plus five bedrooms, two of which have en-suite shower rooms.

Sycamore House boasts beautiful stone walls, a red door and windows, and the interior retains original architecture, art by local artists and pretty additions in each room; the hallway welcomes you with its original quarry tiled flooring, leading to the open-plan kitchen, dining and sitting area.

This is a beautiful, rustic setting and well-equipped for seating all guests, preparing a morning fry-up to start the day, or watching TV on the sofa whilst you wait for dinner to cook.

Enjoy a big family meal in the lovely dining room, featuring a large period dining table and chairs, before retiring to the sitting room for a movie night by the wood burning stove; the snug just next door has more sofas and another TV to settle any movie disagreements.

The ground-floor also has a utility room with a washing machine, iron, ironing board and a large fridge/freezer to stock up on local delicacies.

Sycamore House contains five beautiful bedrooms with storage space to keep your belongings and make yourself at home; one king-size bedroom is above the kitchen on a separate floor, whilst the second is in the third-floor attic, both with an en-suite shower room, and a homely double room and two twins rooms can be found on the first-floor sharing a large family bathroom.

There is an enclosed side garden with furniture at the front of the cottage where you can sit and enjoy the views of the valley, or wander a few doors down to Dyffryn Arms, fondly known as 'Bessie's'.

Up to two, well behaved pets are welcome.

A short journey away lies Fishguard where you will find shops, restaurants, pubs and tea rooms on the spectacular Pembrokeshire coast, which can be enjoyed via the coastal path.

Cardigan sits to the north of Sycamore House, one of Wales' most historic towns, with stunning landscapes, cafés, bakeries and the Cardigan Guildhall Market and Theatre Mwldan.

In the west lies St. Davids, the smallest city in Britain, with the impressive St. Davids Cathedral, Oriel y Parc Gallery and the gothic ruins of the Bishop's Palace, alongside a variety of cafés and boat trips for a family day out.

Near to the picturesque Pembrokeshire coast and sitting in a serene valley, Sycamore House offers a warm welcome and an unforgettable holiday in west Wales.
