  • “Very well equiped and nicely decorated making it comfortable and cosy.”

Bread, milk, butter and cake made us feel welcome. The smart TV was a great bonus to catch up with our favourite programs. A pub and a tea room in the village make eating choices very agreeable. Less than 2 miles away, as well as the coastal path, are quiet beaches, no need to drive but plenty to explore if you want to. Good shower but could do with a bit of TLC to avoid leaking, an easy bemol to overcome with an extra towel on the floor.

The property

This cosy terrace cottage overlooks Mathry's village church and is a couple of minutes walk from the local pub The Farmers, which serves meals.

There is also Siop Fach Tea Rooms, serving breakfast and lunches, with an interesting selection of collectables for sale.

It is just two miles from Abercastle beach which is popular for bathing and boating.

In summer it is a picturesque scene, with colourful fishing boats and walkers enjoying the coastal path.

The tiny village of Mathry is ideally placed between Fishguard and St Davids (both less than 15 minutes drive) in the renowned Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. St Davids is Britain's smallest cathedral city and has numerous galleries, eateries, individual shops and pubs.

You can also book a boat trip around Ramsey Island to see the seals, birds, caves and even porpoise.

If you need more of an adrenaline rush try a coasteering adventure.
