Barcud Cottage is one of three beautiful converted barns enjoying an idyllic and peaceful location on a hillside with stunning views over the valley and Carmarthenshire countryside beyond.
Carmarthenshire is known as the Garden of Wales and the National Botanic Garden of Wales and Aberglasney (a garden lost in time) are both just over 2 miles away.
There is superb fishing in the area too with the river Towy providing excellent salmon and sewin (sea trout) fishing, nearby are also several excellent mountain bike trails.
For nature lovers, the area abounds in wildlife, with red kites, owls, badgers and deer regularly seen from the barns.
The Gower Peninsula has some wonderful beaches with great surfing, including Three Cliffs Bay which is less than 25 miles away.
The Black Mountain and Brecon Beacons National Park (which is viewable from the gardens) make an excellent day trip.
Golden Grove village is about 1 mile from the cottages along narrow lanes and Llandeilo, the ancient market town, is about three miles.
Llandeilo is situated in the heart of the Towy Valley and has an interesting selection of individual shops, galleries, pubs, delicatessens and eateries.
You can also enjoy a fabulous woodland walk straight from the front door or explore one of the many castles in the area.
The owners keep rare breeds sheep on the surrounding farmland.
This really is a great location for exploring mid and West Wales and these charming, well appointed holiday cottages make an ideal base.
