“The property was lovely and warm, cosy and comfy and in very easy reach of the shops and cafes of Narberth.”

It's a great spot for exploring the Pembrokeshire coast - we had trips to Tenby, Amroth and Saundersfoot. Lovely sofa big enough for a family of four, and great TV to collapse in front of. We can't really fault the property, so the following are a bit picky, but; parking is a slight drawback as we had to park over at the other end of town a couple of times - not a problem for us but I imagine it might be if you had small kids or mobility issues (we parked on the double yellows for a short time ...

We can't really fault the property, so the following are a bit picky, but; parking is a slight drawback as we had to park over at the other end of town a couple of times - not a problem for us but I imagine it might be if you had small kids or mobility issues (we parked on the double yellows for a short time to unload when we arrived); the loo seat was very loose (reported to Sykes and not a major issue); we couldn't get the hoover to work; a few more cooking dishes/salad bowls would be useful. All in all we would recommend 2 Castle Street, the wonderful little town of Narberth and Sykes Cottages.

“The property was not Covid clean, the rooms may have been hoovered but as for anything else it was not cleaned, the dust on certain items had not been touched, the under toilet seat was filthy the back yard was covered with leaves and seeds there was no brush to clean it, there was food in the waste bin that had been there for some considerable time and really smelled preventing us from sitting out, when we went to use the hoover to clean after us it was full.”

Recommend a micro wave be installed.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you felt the property wasn’t cleaned to the standards you expected. We have spoken to the cleaning company, and they acknowledge that the hoover wasn’t emptied, however a manager checked over the property and signed it off as being done. It’s unfortunate that you didn’t contact Sykes upon arrival or first noticing the issues nor having any photographs we can use to show the cleaners, as we may have been able to do something and get the issues resolved for your stay, as opposed to first hearing about them in your poor review. We have removed the bins in the courtyard and now have arranged for a yard brush to be left, although we’d like to point out that a dustpan and brush are available under the kitchen sink and that the leaves and seeds are something we can’t control but are part of being so close to the wonderful Narberth Castle and it’s trees. We have worked hard to present a bolthole in a wonderful town and obviously want people to enjoy their stay at Castle Street, so when people don’t, we do try and take on board any constructive feedback. Maybe in future you give the owners an opportunity to remedy any issues at the time by contacting your booking agent, as laid out in your booking documents, before leaving feedback on something that the owners know nothing about. “The house was lovely just a bit disappointed with the court yard.”

It was described as a place where you could sit out and enjoy a gin and tonic. That wasn't the case really, to small and rubbish bins.

The bathroom lacked a toilet brush and a microwave would have been good. The accomodation was spotless and comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We would stay here again

“Beautifully furnished cottage.”

Ideal location for exploring the Pembrokeshire coastline and lovely beaches close by. Narberth village has plenty of restaurants which I would highly recommend. Accommodation had everything you could possibly need on a holiday. 5 stars.
