“We consider Newport our second home (we’ve been visiting for many, many years) and have stayed in many of the local cottages.”

We would definitely be happy to stay at Cartrefle again. The only convenience it could do with is a downstairs loo!

We would definitely be happy to stay at Cartrefle again. The only convenience it could do with is a downstairs loo! Very well decorated and furnished. We felt at home here. Great beds - something many forget about - a poor nights sleep can ruin a holiday. Please pass on our thanks to the owners, we’d love to stay again.

The property

This stylish house in the heart of Newport offers period charm with contemporary style and the modern comfort and conveniences we all enjoy.

Newport nestles at the foot of Carningli, the Mount of Angels, from where you can enjoy superb views over the sea all the way to Ireland on a clear day!

The town has a great selection of eateries to suit every taste and pocket, individual and traditional shops, galleries and friendly pubs, as well as a weekly (Monday) local producer's market.

Parrog beach and Nevern estuary are both just a few minutes' walk from the house and the joining point for the coast path, which offers 186 miles of spectacular walking and scenery.

A walk to the larger beach at Newport Sands will take about 30 minutes and there is a golf club, too.

This really is a lovely home from which to explore the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and the Preseli Hills.

In fact, you could park your car on arrival and not use it again all week!
