    “A fantastic location in an exceptional area.”

    The host was friendly and helpful. Accommodation was good but would benefit from some upgrading. Later check in times are unacceptable to older guests particularly during the winter season. Emails from Sykes are officious and unwelcoming rather than helpful.

Gorwelfa is an idyllic stone-fronted bungalow resting alongside Carningli Mountain in the parish of Nevern near Newport, Pembrokeshire.

The property can sleep up to eight guests and is all-ground-floor, ideal for those with limited mobility.

It has a large enclosed garden where you can enjoy the stunning views of Dinas Head and Newport Bay.

Park right outside the property, before unloading your bags and discarding any coats and shoes in the hallway.

Look forward to snuggling up in one of two sitting rooms, where you can enjoy playing board games with loved ones, or a glass of wine with your feet up whilst watching your favourite TV show.

Prepare a delicious feast in the large and fully-equipped kitchen, as your guests open a bottle of fizz and lay the generous farmhouse table.

After a day at the beach, pop sandy clothes in for a spin in the handy washing machine in the utility room and wash away the day with a revitalising shower.

Pack up your towels, buckets and spades, and favourite book and head to the vast sandy beach of Newport Sands, where you can enjoy beachcombing the shore, building sandcastles or a bite to eat at the nearby café.

For those who have brought their clubs, there is an 18-hole golf course with impressive views of Newport Bay, perfect for brushing up on your game.

Visit the incredible, nearby Pentre Ifan Neolithic Burial Chamber and embark on a hike up Caningli Mountain - The Mount of Angels - where you can expect to see a variety of local wildlife, including wild ponies, and at its peak, take in magnificent, panoramic views across Pembrokeshire.

Just a little further is the coastal town of Fishguard, where you can enjoy a leisurely stroll along the Marine Walk, visit the Ocean Lab in Goodwick where you can meet some of the local marine life and learn more about marine conservation.

Or visit picturesque Lower Town, the location for filming Under Milk Wood starring Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor.
