“We have stayed at various times in Sykes cottages…Garden Cottage in Ludlow several times and Tudor House in Montacute once, each time the property has been immaculately presented and very clean.”

We have also rented in Aldeburgh many times and each time, except once, the properties have been excellent…..and the one that wasn’t so good was still clean. Penmorfa inside is well worn and superficially cleanish, it needs to be redecorated. The kitchen equipment was good. The furniture in the main room is well worn. The bedroom was OK, but we don’t like brown sheets too much and when the bed was stripped at the end of our stay we didn’t like the stained undercover at all! Outside is work in progress! We left on Thursday afternoon ….. it was not tempting to say longer. The village and the surrounding area, the walks, the views and the bird life are wonderful and we would return, just not to Penmorfa!

The property

This lovely colonial house has great sea views, contemporary features and enjoys a quiet location up a lane just 150 yards from the beach. There are views of both Newport & Fishguard bays from the property!

Cwm yr Eglwys takes its name from the ruins of a tiny church beside the lovely little beach which is set at one end of Dinas Head between Newport and Fishguard. It is a perfect spot for children to play and explore and for walking the Pembrokeshire coast path. From the property, you can take a walk around Dinas Head which has been voted AA walk of the year or you can take a woodland walk behind the headland to Pwllgwaelod, just half a mile away, where there is another little beach and The Old Sailors pub and restaurant where you can get good food and a drink.Dinas has 2 pubs, shops, tearoom and fish and chip shop.Newport is just a couple of country miles away and has a fabulous selection of eateries, small shops and a weekly farmers market.
