“We had the most wonderful stay at Ty Owen.”

We were unaware when we arrived that it was a complete new build. The property blew us away! Absolutely everything was brand-new. The facilities/equipment were all high end and the owners had thought of absolutely everything. The property is in a perfect location for amenities in Newport, shops and pubs. It is only a 10 minute walk to the beach and coastal path which is absolutely stunning. Newport is in ideal location for exploring nearby towns and villages of Pembrokeshire. Spot-on for what we were after! As regular uses of Sykes cottages, this holiday lived up to one of the best! Thanks for a great visit. Will be back and will most definitely recommend!

The property

Ty Owen, a contemporary two-bedroom bungalow in Pembrokeshire, sits on the outskirts of Newport.

Pembrokeshire's Coastal National Park is right on the doorstep, making Ty Owen an ideal home for a couple or a family of four seeking their next coastal getaway.

Leave your vehicle on the driveway with space for two cars, before unloading your bags with ease to begin your holiday.

Step into the light-filled open-plan living area, where you can prepare delectable meals in the well-equipped kitchen, which includes a washing machine and dishwasher for your convenience.

As you tuck into your meal, open a bottle of wine, and reminisce about the day's adventures.

After dinner, head to the living room, where there are two plush sofas and a flat-screen TV which offers Netflix, Amazon Prime & Disney, perfect for relaxing in front of your favourite show.

When it's time for bed, choose from two beautifully decorated double bedrooms, each with hanging space for your belongings.

In the morning, whip up a hearty breakfast before preparing for the day in style with a refreshing shower in the large shower room.

Take a stroll around town and stop at The Golden Lion, The Castle Inn, The Royal Oak, Tides Kitchen & Wine Bar or Blas at Fronlas for a delicious meal, ideal for when you fancy a night off from the kitchen!

There is also a well-stocked convenience store and the charming Ty Twt Dolls' House and Toy Museum with an extensive collection on Market St. Newport and Parrog are the town's beautiful beaches, where you can relax on the sand with a good book and paddle the shores or if you are so inclined, why not play a round at the 18-hole Newport Golf Course, which overlooks the bay before a meal at the Cat Rock Cafe?!

If you're travelling with history buffs, don't worry: the fascinating Castell Henllys Iron Age Village and the iconic, picture-postcard perfect Neolithic Pentre Ifan Burial Chamber rest just on the outskirts of the town.

Continue to Fishguard, where you can walk along the water-front in pretty Lower Town, the location of Hollywood epics such as Gregory Peck's 'Moby Dick' and Dylan Thomas' 'Under Milk Wood', starring Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor!

Visit Fishguard Town Hall to view the incredible 'Last Invasion Tapestry', completed in 1997 on the 200th anniversary of the last invasion of Mainland Britain when Napoleonic France were repelled by Welsh heroine Jemima Nicholas and her famous pitchfork!

To get a taste of what Cardigan has to offer, visit Cardigan Castle, the birthplace of the Welsh Eisteddfod, Cardigan Guildhall Market and the Welsh Wildlife Centre at Cilgerran, which is located nearby.

Finally, don't forget to visit Britain's smallest city and marvel at the cathedral that was built in honour of Wales' patron saint, St David!

At Ty Owen, you can begin your journey to this awe-inspiring area of South Wales.
