“Had a lovely stay at bayside a fantastic location and a lovely property, we did have a few problems with the oil fired heating but the owners were prompt to respond with the engineer even visiting on Bank Holiday Monday.”

Wasn’t 100% clear where we could park a map would be useful. Nobody was in the other caravans when we stayed and not sure it would have been as nice if there had been. The property could do with some updating door lock on the main door, handrails, flooring, drainage in the shower and to be honest it isn’t perfect but it is perfectly serviceable and you can over look this for the very reasonable price. The only other bits I’d suggest would be to have some sharp knives, a general tidy up of ...

The property

This large beach front holiday property in Pendine, Carmarthenshire offers lots of living space and fabulous sea views from most of its rooms.

Pendine Sands stretch for 7 miles and as well as being a beautiful beach for relaxing and walking on, it has seen several world land speed records broken, from Sir Malcom Campbell in his car Bluebird in 1924, to Idris Elba's flying mile record in a Bentley Continental in 2015.

The village of Pendine has several shops (some seasonal), a pub and a restaurant.

The present owners' great grandfather built the house having fallen in love with the area when commissioned to build the sea wall.

About the location

PENDINE

Tenby 15 miles.

A delightful seaside village with a seven mile stretch of sandy beach, famous in its history for car racing and speed record attempts. The fateful car ‘Babs’, the driver of which was killed in one of the many speed record attempts, was buried in the sands for many years, but has now been dug up, restored and is often in the local museum for all to admire. Even the famous Amy Johnson used these perfect flat sands to take off on one of her many record flights. Steeped in history, these sands are perfect all year round, whether sunbathing, swimming and kite flying. With local pubs and restaurants serving good food, a café, a grocery shop and gift shops, Pendine is the perfect seaside village. Pendine is also home to the recently built Land of Speeds MUseum, which can be found on Pendine Promenade; the land speed record was actually broken on Pendine's beach, too! Nearby, the attractions range from Dylan Thomas' famous boathouse, where he penned so many of his literary masterpieces, castles, more sandy beaches, hidden coves and the vibrant seaside resort of Tenby, with Caldey Island and the majestic monastery a short boat trip away. A stunning location for exploring this beautiful part of Wales.
