Gwennol Cottage is one of three beautiful converted barns in Carmarthenshire enjoy an idyllic and peaceful location on a hillside with stunning views over the valley and beyond.
Golden Grove village is about 1 mile from the cottages and Llandeilo, the ancient market town, is about three and a half miles. Llandeilo is situated in the heart of the Towy Valley and has an interesting selection of individual shops, galleries and eateries.You can also enjoy a fabulous woodland walk straight from the front door or explore one of the many castles in the area.
Carmarthenshire is known as the Garden of Wales and the National Botanic Garden of Wales and Aberglasney (a garden lost in time) are just over 2 miles away. There is superb fishing in the area too with the river Towy providing excellent Salmon and Sewin (sea trout) fishing, whilst for those more active the cottages are located between several excellent mountain bike trails.
For nature lovers, the area abounds with wildlife, with red kites, owls, badgers and deer regularly seen from the barns. The Gower Peninsular has some wonderful beaches with great surfing, including Three Cliffs Bay which is less than 25 miles away. The Black Mountain and Brecon Beacons National Park (which is visible from the gardens) make an excellent day trip.
The owners keep rare breeds sheep on the surrounding farmland.
This really is a great location for exploring West Wales and these charming, well appointed cottages make an ideal base. Llandeilo is only 3 miles away and there you will find a whole host of nice pubs, cafes and delicatessens in which to eat.
Entrance is into the light and airy Kitchen/Dining Room with views over the valley.
The KITCHEN is fitted with a range of Oak units with a granite work top, it also has an electric oven with a ceramic hob, fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher, microwave oven and washing machine.
The DINING AREA has a dining table with 4 chairs.
There is also another entrance into the property which leads into the SITTING ROOM is L shaped and has an attractive arched window and exposed stone walls. It is furnished with a corner sofa unit and a comfy chair, coffee table and a 37" wall mounted plasma TV with DVD / CD player.
There are two en-suite bedrooms, both have 3' zip'n'link bed which when linked make a 6' super king size bed.
BEDROOM 1 is downstairs and has a super king size bed (please indicate if required as two singles), bedside tables, wardrobe, dressing chair and an EN-SUITE BATHROOM comprising a white suite of bath with shower over, WC, heated towel rail and wash hand basin.
BEDROOM 2 is approached by a flight of carpeted stairs from the sitting room and leads to a gallery area which in turn leads to the bedroom. It is furnished with 2 single beds (please indicate if the super king size is required), bedside tables, dressing chair and wardrobe.
There is an EN-SUITE SHOWER ROOM with shower cubicle, WC, heated towel rail and wash hand basin.
The grounds are open plan with attractive planting and lawned areas, not fenced off.
Each cottage has its own private patio to the fore of the cottage with lovely views and furnished with a sturdy picnic bench and a barbecue.
There is ample parking space for two cars.
There is oil fired central heating throughout, this is included from May to September and charged at a flat rate of £35 per week at all other times - please leave your payment in the cottage at the time of your holiday. Electricity is included.
A travel cot, highchair and stairgate are available.
Towels are included in the rental.
There is a shared laundry room with two washing machines and a tumble dryer.
One well behaved pet is welcome.
