We are delighted to welcome you to the 19th Century Grade 2 listed castellated Gatehouse Lodges at Picton Castle.
The lodges are situated either side of the grand main entrance to the 13th century castle which is set in 40 acres of spectacular woodland and grounds and make a great holiday base.
Picton is an enchanting fusion of formally landscaped lawns, walled gardens, maze and wild untouched woodland walks where ferns and wild flowers intermingle with Rhododendrons, Myrtles, Embothrium and Eucryphia.
The Walled Garden boasts fountains, rose strewn arches and medicinal herbs labelled with their remedies.
Picton hosts seasonal exhibitions, garden lectures and open air theatre.
There is also a secret owl garden in the bluebell wood.
The Courtyard is a hub of activity with children's art room, gift shop and delicious food at Maria's Mediterranean restaurant.
Both lodges have been renovated to the latest standards whilst retaining their historic appearance.
The East Lodge is a perfect romantic retreat for couples and West Lodge is ideal for two couples or small families looking to enjoy the peace that these gardens offer.
Guests staying at the Gatehouse Lodges enjoy a complimentary guided tour of the Castle as well as free access to the gardens throughout their stay and 'after hours' access to explore once everybody else has gone home.
Entrance is from the rear into the KITCHEN/DINING ROOM which has views over the garden, pretty painted cupboards, Welsh dresser, electric cooker, microwave oven and fridge with freezer compartment.
The dining area has a dining table and 3 chairs.
