Details

This comfortable former mill workers cottage is just a few minutes' walk from the beach and coastal path at Llangrannog and makes a perfect family holiday base.

Set in the pretty valley of the river Hawen, Llangrannog has two golden sandy beaches, two pubs (both serve good food and have occasional seasonal live music events), 2 cafes, a village shop and a weekly local producers market.

This small seaside village is situated between the towns of Cardigan and New Quay on the breath-taking Cardigan Bay coastline.

Dolphins are a regular sight along this stretch of coast between Mwnt and New Quay.

Holiday Accommodation

From the roadside a series of steps lead down to the property.

Entrance is via a porch into the open plan kitchen, sitting and dining room.

The KITCHEN has a good range of fitted shaker style units, electric oven and ceramic hob, dishwasher, microwave and a large fridge/freezer.

The DINING AREA has an extending dining table with 8 chairs.

The SITTING ROOM has an exposed stone fireplace, woodburning stove and oak floor.

It is furnished with a large comfortable leather sofa, 4 small armchairs, TV with freeview, DVD player and a good selection of DVDs and games are stored in one of the bedroom cupboards.

Off the sitting room is BEDROOM 1 which is perfect for older children.

There is a very steep ships ladder leading to a sleeping loft with limited headroom.

It has a single bed and a mattress on the floor bed beside.

Underneath the loft area is a sofa bed with a proper double mattress which provides a safer option if you don't like the ships ladder.

A chest of drawers and wardrobe are provided.

A cottage staircase leads from the sitting room to two further bedrooms.

BEDROOM 2 (the master bedroom) has a view of the valley and is furnished with a double bed, bedside tables, lamps, built in wardrobe and chest of drawers and vanity table.

BEDROOM 3 also has a double bed, bedside table, chest of drawers and chair.

The FAMILY SHOWER ROOM has a large walk in shower cubicle, WC and hand basin.

BEDROOM 4 is in a separate annexe next door.

Entrance is into the READING ROOM with comfortable cream sofa (converts into a bed for occasional use) and a welsh dresser. There is no WIFI in this room. 

A steep ships ladder staircase leads to the bedroom which has a double bed, bedside tables, chest of drawers, chair and wardrobe. 

Leading off this is an EN-SUITE SHOWER ROOM with shower, WC and hand basin.

This room is perfect for agile grandparents wishing to holiday with their family while maintaining a bit of peace and quiet.

Maximum 8 persons, although there are sofa bed spaces, please advise which you will require for your holiday.

There is another basic OUTSIDE SHOWER/STORE ROOM off the garden terrace with shower, WC and basin.

It makes a great place to rinse the sand off after a day at the beach and is also used to store sun loungers.

A further STORE SHED contains a washing machine and tumble dryer and has a stock of buckets, spades, wet suits and buoyancy aids which you may use (at your own risk) as long as they are returned in the same condition.

There is also a hard kayak stored on the first layer of garden which you are welcome to use with life jackets again at your risk.

Garden and Parking

There is one designated space for parking at the top of the steps.

More spaces are usually available in the layby nearby and if not there is a field car park (free) around the corner up the hill.

Just outside the cottage is a very sunny forecourt with a picnic table and seating, perfect for al-fresco breakfasts and suppers.

Folk staying in the cottages beyond have a right of way over this area.

There is a very steep terraced garden which is gated at the top level and has uneven slate steps and paths leading all the way down to the river Hawen.

While you are welcome to use the terraced areas, please remember they are not suitable for the very young or the infirm.
1 is the terrace and right of way for neighbouring cottages. 2 is a small lawn and shower/store. 3 is a slate area with seats. 4 is another small lawn with a path leading to a spot where you can see the waterfall. 5 shrubs, trees, grassy clearing and the river.

Other information

There are electric convector heaters throughout.

Electricity is included form May to September and charged for at a flat rate of £35 per week from October to April, payable when booking. A complimentary basket of logs is provided for your arrival and more can be purchased locally.

A travel cot, highchair, feeding chair and stairgate are available.

All the beds will be made up with fresh linen for your arrival.

A bath and hand towel are available to hire at £5 per guest.

WiFi enabled.

Pets are welcome but are not allowed upstairs or on the soft furnishings.

There is a large bean bag for dogs as well as a dog bed.

No smoking.
