This perfect holiday hide away, is a detached lime washed cottage in an idyllic setting at the head of the Gwaun Valley in Pembrokeshire, with lovely views of Carningli Mountain.
There are over 3 acres of grounds and a small lake for you to wander, to enjoy the scenery and wildlife which includes birds - 57 species of birds have been spotted so far, foxes, badgers and pond life including visiting otters catching fish.
There are some superb walks either up and around Carn Ingli Mountain or down the beautiful Gwaun Valley The Coastal Path can be joined 3 miles away at Newport, which offers a good selection of eateries, pubs, shops and galleries. There is a micro brewery just short walk from the cottage.
The Cottage has only recently been completely refurbished and offers a happy blend of contemporary and traditional features.
Entrance is via a stable door into the hallway and through to the:
Light and airy open-plan SITTING ROOM and KITCHEN/DINING ROOM. There is a high ceiling with Velux windows and exposed 'A' frame beams and a slate flagstone floor with underfloor heating throughout. There is a log burner on a slate hearth, leather corner sofa, wooden armchair, coffee table, colour TV with DVD and Freeview, a good selection of books and games and attractive accessories.
The KITCHEN is fitted with a range of cream Shaker style units with oak block worktop, integral ceramic hob, electric fan oven, microwave oven/grill, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and automatic washing machine.
The DINING AREA has an attractive modern round table with 4 chairs.
The hallway leads to the BEDROOM which has exposed beams, a high set window with a stained glass hanging and slate floor with underfloor heating and a rug. The room has views of Carningli Mountain and is furnished with twin beds (which can be pushed together if desired), TV, bedside tables, wardrobe and chest of drawers. The beds will be made up with fresh white bedding for your arrival.
The BATHROOM has a slate floor with underfloor heating and heated towel rail, a white suite, of bath, WC, wash hand basin, and separate shower cubicle.
There is a private garden for the cottage accessed from the main drive and via the double doors in the kitchen. The garden is mainly set to lawn, with a border of mature shrubs, some huge boulders, attractive planting and garden furniture.
There is parking space for 2 cars.
The oil fired underfloor heating is included in the rental from May to September. October to April is charged for at a flat rate of £25 per week, payable to the owner. An initial basket of logs is provided - thereafter available at cost from the owners, who live in the main house, or from the local shops.
A travel cot (with changing mat) and highchair are available by prior arrangement.
Towels are provided, however, please bring your own beach towels.
Regretfully, no pets.
There is a small BBQ and bike storage available.
The compact nature of the cottage makes it unsuitable for children, however in exceptional circumstances an infant could be accommodated.
