Bridgend 5 miles; Porthcawl 12 miles; Cardiff 25 miles

A friendly village in the borough of Bridgend in South Wales, just five miles north of the town itself. Blackmill has a lovely little village centre which boasts a petrol station with a shop, a café, a convenience store, a pub serving food and a pub with a Nepalese restaurant. The attractive town of Bridgend is close by, it provides an excellent range of high street shops, pubs and restaurants as well as some stunning castle ruins overlooking the town. A trip to the seaside is available nearby at the traditional town of Porthcawl, offering an amusement arcade, a beach and a lighthouse. Alternatively, enthusiasts of the outdoors can explore the Afan Forest Park or perhaps the wonderful Brecon Beacons National Park slightly further afield. Wales' capital, Cardiff is also within driving distance and is well worth a visit with its castle, Cardiff Bay, and much more to see and do.
