“Nice property in Central location and clear instruction for key collection and parking provided by owner.”

Three parties suffered numerous sever bites to thier legs and we noticed a significant number of ants in the living room, on the floor and dining table. When reported to the owner they were adamant no ants were found however, they were clelwry visible throughout our stay so not confident in the integrity of the owner.

We are very sorry this particular guest feels that our property should be rated so poorly when we pride ourselves on providing clean and comfortable facilities for all our guests as well as prompt and accurate communications. You will see from our other reviews that, aside from this rare negative feedback, cleanliness and comfort are consistently highly rated. This guest reported an issue with ants a full 7 hours after the end of their stay by which time it was too late for us to inspect and treat the problem to improve on this particular guest’s experience. By that time the property had also already been cleaned, no ants had been seen and the next guests had already arrived (who loved their stay). I returned to the property immediately upon notification by the guest but again found no ants in the location stated and therefore was unable to pinpoint the source of entry of the ants but as a precaution applied ants repellent where the guest had stated they had been seen. This was reported back promptly to the guest. The guest also complained of bites on 2, not 3, guests but explained that they went on long walks where they themselves suspected is where they may have got bitten. Finally the day after their departure the guest felt the need to warn us that since we were unable to acknowledge the presence of ants they would write a bad review. To clarify, we cannot accept nor deny the presence of ants during their stay since none were found due to the delay in the guests notifying us. We however took note of the information, treated the area in any case and stated that we would continue to spot check the property as we understand. We feel we have acted promptly and in the correct manner upon notification by the guest and communicated back with them politely and therefore their rating is surprisingly harsh and unfair but know that all our other reviews paint a much more positive and truer reflections of the pride we take in running our holiday let business. About the location

MONMOUTH

Ross-on-Wye 10 miles; Usk, 14.5 miles; Abergavenny 18.5 miles.

An intriguing market town on the border between Wales and England and close to the exceptional Offa’s Dyke, this wonderful town combines old and new, from the old castle ruins to the vibrant weekly market. Located at the confluence of 3 rivers – the Wye, the Monnow and the Trothy, it is an excellent base to enjoy river boating, scenic walks and a little shopping too, or to sit and relax on the edge of the river and watch the rowers who regularly race and practise their skills. Monmouth is most famous as the birthplace of Henry V and offers the opportunity to see historic buildings, the preserved medieval 13th century bridge over the river Monnow (the only one of its kind in Britain) and the famous Nelson Garden. This is truly a small town with a huge array of interesting sights to visit. The surrounding areas are steeped in history too and short drives will take you to nearby Usk, Abergavenny, Ross-on-Wye and even into the spectacular Brecon Beacons, Forest of Dean and Wye Valley. A perfect location with so much to see for all ages.
