“At first glance, the property seemed lovely & was nicely presented.”
However, the twin beds need replacing, not only are the bases ripped, the children (7 & 12) found them hugely uncomfortable due to the springs being very prominent. I had to take the quilt out of the cover & lay it inder the bottom sheet. The worktop in the kitchen is hugely unhygienic. At the join, it is split & lifting up. If, in your own home this is how you have it, that's personal choice, but not acceptable to your paying guests. It was clear it hasn't just happened either. Basically, it needs a lot of tlc ie.damaged furniture replacing. When getting cutlery out, several pieces were dirty, so we washed it all (including the tray which had a lot more than cutlery in it!) & one of the wine glasses had bright lipstick on it, consequently, we washed everything before using it as it made us dubious about anything being clean, which was a shame. The WiFi was intermittent which meant the telly lagged a lot, which was frustrating but probably easily solved, we noticed a few people had commented the same in the guest book. There was a huge empty telly box, Christmas decs, cleaning equipment (upright hoover, mop & bucket etc) & bits of cupboard/shelving & so on in the main wardrobe which was annoying as it took up a fair chunk of valuable space. Particularly when there was a locked cupboard, presumably for cleaning stuff where some of it could've been housed..
All that being said, the park was in a gorgeous location, was quiet in the evenings (but FYI, they are doing the park up/putting more lodges in etc so lots of heavy equipment going past the lodge at 8ish a
m, in case you didn't already know) & after a bit of money spent on replacing things the owners must already be aware of (lining on curtains or blinds as well) & more thoughtful reorganisation of their personal equipment, this lodge has the potential to be absolutely fantastic!
