“The cottage was warm, spacious, clean and perfectly located for us to enjoy the restaurants and cafes of Aberaeron every evening.”

It was also very quiet, despite its being sited so close to the harbour - which has just been restored and is now very tidy. When we visited (in early October) we never had any problem finding a parking space, usually very close to, or even right outside, the house. There were a few blown bulbs and sub-par appliances (toaster was a bit feeble), but nothing to detract in any way from a 5-star rating. We'll be hoping to book again for next year! Tip: If staying as two couples, when you go ...

Tip: If staying as two couples, when you go out for the day, use the keysafe box by the front door to store the key, as there's only one set provided and that way, if you're doing your own thing, whoever gets back first can always get into the house.

The property

Positioned just a stone's throw away from the harbour and seafront, this colourful, semi-detached cottage rests in the heart of Aberaeron, between the coastal sweep that joins Cardigan and Aberystwyth.

Bari is a cosy dwelling for families and friends looking to explore this beautiful region of Ceredigion.

Step straight into the hallway from the street and feel a warm welcome from inside.

Move through to the inviting sitting room and unwind from a day at the beach on the sofa.

The kitchen to the rear of the cottage is well-presented with double doors through to the dining room, where you can gather for a delicious, sociable dinner and catch up on the days' activities.

There is also a separate cloakroom/utility from the kitchen, with a handy washing machine, should you need to do any laundry during your stay.

Up the stairs is a split landing with a twin room and family a bathroom on one side, whilst the king-size double with its own en-suite followed by a double room.

You have access to a lovely patio area to the rear, a real sun trap with garden furniture for you to sit out and soak up the seaside atmosphere as you sip a well-earned glass of wine.

You can enjoy a scenic stroll to Llanerchaeron, the National Trust's elegant Georgian villa set in the Aeron Valley.

There are some fantastic beaches in the area, such as the mile of golden sands at the National Trust's Penbryn, one of Ceredigion's best-kept secrets.

You can also enjoy the secluded cove at Mwnt, which is framed by a luscious patchwork of green and jagged cliffs jutting out into the bay.

Spend some time exploring the villages of Cwmtydu, Llangrannog and Tresaith accessed via the Wales Coast Path, and journey over to New Quay to catch glimpses of dolphins gliding across the water.

If you venture north to Aberystwyth, you have the Funicular Railway and steam railway, suitable for all ages to enjoy, as well as the Royal Pier and promenade.

Further inland are the Cambrian Mountains and Cors Caron National Nature Reserve at Tregaron.

You can have whatever holiday you choose here at this delightful seafront cottage.

About the location

ABERAERON

Lampeter 13 miles; Aberystwyth 16 miles.

A pretty Georgian coastal town located between Cardigan and Aberystwyth with a lovely pebble beach and beautiful sea views. There is an abundance of shops with unusual gifts, great eating places and pubs, and a quiet little harbour to enjoy watching the boats come and go. Aberaeron is perfectly positioned to enjoy boat trips and watersports, or coastal and countryside walks and cycle rides. Short drives to Cardigan to the south, or Aberystwyth to the north offer more shops, craft centres, museums and cinema or theatre visits. A wonderful Mid Wales location all year round.
