“Normally feedback is an easy task and we have used Sykes several times and this is the first time I’ve felt the need to be negative.”

Bari is in a good location in the super little town of Aberaeron, with easy access to the A487 to get to other destinations easily on the Cardigan Coast. The property was clean and tidy inside. Unfortunately there are many issues that detract from being able to fully enjoy your holiday. So…. the small kitchen had 2 main spotlights out making it darker than it should be as very little natural lighting. Also, the under counter lights did not work and the light above the hob did not work ...

Also, the under counter lights did not work and the light above the hob did not work either. These were reported on day one, but not fixed. Just a note at this point is that there was no welcome pack and it is the first cottage over recent years where there hasn’t been. This is a relatively cheap but very appreciated touch. From the kitchen you exit into the back area which has a rusty table and chair set in the main part. However I had to weed the flags in this area before we could use it as some were a foot high. The rest of the garden further down is massively overgrown. Also, the neighbours kitchen directly overlooks this area , even if a makeshift screen has been put up, it is still intrusive and not private. The whole area is grotty and not relaxing to sit in at all. One further note on the “garden”, a low fence meant that a neighbouring dog was able to access our garden and worried and unnerved our 2 older dogs until it was chased off. Back inside, the bedroom light shade had been removed and was found broken in a wardrobe, the broken arms of the shade were left on the cable hanging from the ceiling. Add to this the loose toilet seat in the main bathroom. And finally, we knew it was on road parking before we arrived, but please be prepared to park up to 100+ yards away after you’ve been out for the day as it is limited. Without been able to relax in nice surroundings outside during the evening we sat in the small living room each night, we decided to leave early and vacated the property on the second to last day of our stay. Quite a bit of work needed here to make this an acceptable holiday home I’m afraid.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry there was no welcome pack the cleaner has said they forgot to put one in. We have had a lot of positive feedback from repeat customers over the 5 years Bari has been a holiday let , even the previous week to your stay the customer was having there third visit. after speaking with the cleaner / maintenance company we find your comments quite strange as they said you were " Happy as Larry" when they spoke with you Property Owner

The property

Positioned just a stone's throw away from the harbour and seafront, this colourful, semi-detached cottage rests in the heart of Aberaeron, between the coastal sweep that joins Cardigan and Aberystwyth.

Bari is a cosy dwelling for families and friends looking to explore this beautiful region of Ceredigion.

Step straight into the hallway from the street and feel a warm welcome from inside.

Move through to the inviting sitting room and unwind from a day at the beach on the sofa.

The kitchen to the rear of the cottage is well-presented with double doors through to the dining room, where you can gather for a delicious, sociable dinner and catch up on the days' activities.

There is also a separate cloakroom/utility from the kitchen, with a handy washing machine, should you need to do any laundry during your stay.

Up the stairs is a split landing with a twin room and family a bathroom on one side, whilst the king-size double with its own en-suite followed by a double room.

You have access to a lovely patio area to the rear, a real sun trap with garden furniture for you to sit out and soak up the seaside atmosphere as you sip a well-earned glass of wine.

You can enjoy a scenic stroll to Llanerchaeron, the National Trust's elegant Georgian villa set in the Aeron Valley.

There are some fantastic beaches in the area, such as the mile of golden sands at the National Trust's Penbryn, one of Ceredigion's best-kept secrets.

You can also enjoy the secluded cove at Mwnt, which is framed by a luscious patchwork of green and jagged cliffs jutting out into the bay.

Spend some time exploring the villages of Cwmtydu, Llangrannog and Tresaith accessed via the Wales Coast Path, and journey over to New Quay to catch glimpses of dolphins gliding across the water.

If you venture north to Aberystwyth, you have the Funicular Railway and steam railway, suitable for all ages to enjoy, as well as the Royal Pier and promenade.

Further inland are the Cambrian Mountains and Cors Caron National Nature Reserve at Tregaron.

You can have whatever holiday you choose here at this delightful seafront cottage.
