Me and my partner had an amazing stay at this property, the views were stunning, it was relaxing, the accomodation was brilliant.

It was so clean, very well equipped and everything you could ask for a comfortable, great stay away. The owner was fantastic and so welcoming, we honestly could not ask for more. 100% worth every penny and we will definately be back for another stay.

Beth has a truly amazing property,there was nothing to want for.

The views from the bedroom across the valley were breathtaking. Beth was very helpful,nothing was too much trouble. She provided eggs from her chickens, a cake that she made(delicious). There was milk, bottled water,tea coffee hot chocolate and chocolates. The cinema room was a very nice surprise,even popcorn was supplied. The king size bed every comfortable and the hot tub was very relaxing after a long day visiting some beautiful water falls. Will definitely be back.

Well where do I start, our stay was perfect from start to finish.

The retreat is beautiful and so cosy. It had everything and more to offer. Beth was so lovely and genuinely cared about making our stay so special and welcoming. The welcome pack and fresh eggs were a lovely gesture. Nothing was too much trouble and she went above and beyond to make our stay so memorable. The views from the retreat were stunning. I wouldn’t hesitate to return and would recommend staying there to anyone. You won’t be disappointed.

Great find, amazing place to stay with fabulous view - when sunny - although still a good view when not so sunny.

A number of places to visit in the region. Hot tub was a welcome way to relax. Cinema room is a good addition. Welcoming and helpful host - fresh eggs and welcome treats were lovely. Left fully refreshed and recharged - will be back.

Myself and my partner visited this lovely little cabin as a belated Valentines day treat, and it was beautiful and just what we needed!

Beth is a fantastic host, and the environment is the most peaceful and relaxing we've ever been in. Plenty of wood and fuel provided, many little treats, and the cinema room is loaded with as many DVDs as you can imagine. And the bed is the most comfortable we've ever slept on!

We had a lovely relaxing few nights at The Retreat with our dog.

It has the most stunning views and is in such a peaceful location. Loved the addition of the cinema room but unfortunately couldn’t use the hot tub due to the wet weather. Plenty of indoor heating to keep the chill off and a log burner too. Would definitely return.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Retreat, the photos don’t do it justice, the space you have is amazing, hot tub and patio area is so lovely and well maintained and those views in the morning are second to none!

The cinema room was fab with so many movies to choose from already stocked up and Beth was the most lovely welcoming host, nothing was too much trouble! Will definitely be back and recommend to all!

Beth was an amazing host, the welcome back was amazing and a fabulous touch.

Beth went above and beyond to ensure myself and my niece had the best time during a cold weather snap. I will definitely be returning at some point in the future and I have friends and family who have said they would like to stay also.

We loved our stay at The Retreat.

Beth was a wonderful host and we got to cuddle Lola the lab! The facilities on offer were fantastic. It was warm, cost, clean and with sweet little gestures such as the love spoon, fresh eggs and a home baked cake. We especially loved the hot tub, hammock and cinema room. We made sure we enjoyed everything we could, but can’t wait to go back!

We had an amazing stay at The Retreat last month.

Stayed for a week and would happily have stayed longer in this wonderfully equipped venue with the most fantastic countryside views. Everything you needed was there in terms of cooking, tv, wifi and heating options. Beth was a great host, very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The welcome pack was a very nice touch too. The wood fired hot tub was easy to get going and very enjoyable to use! Have to also mention the cinema room which was very romantic and a great experience watching dvds on the big screen with surround sound. In short, the Retreat is a perfect place for a thoroughly relaxing break and we can't wait to book again! Keith & Lynne

Just back from a lovely cozy week in the retreat!

Log fire, stunning views,and all the comforts of home whats not to love. Beth the owner was lovely and very welcoming and we would very much recommend a stay at the retreat

We have had the most amazing stay.

We booked this for our honeymoon and after a whirlwind of the planning and the day itself this was the most idealistic place to have a carefree and relaxing honeymoon. Beth from the start was amazing. With the most wonderful welcome with homemade cake, fresh eggs from her chickens, Welsh cakes, flowers from her mums garden and a wedding card. Not to mention the love spoon which will take pride of place in our home. We ventured out while we were here visiting Ffestiniog Railway, train to the Summit of Snowdon where the sun was shining and a visit to the waterfall. It’s been stunning. The views here are right up there with the best we have seen. Cinema room and hot tub were a lovely addition too. Both of which we used most days. We will definitely be back and will be recommending the retreat to any couple that need a well deserved relaxing break. Thank you! Nikki & Adam Lampard

What an absolutely amazing place to stay.

The accommodation was very comfortable with everything you need in one place and top all of it off. It has amazing views and a bonus cinema room. As a solo traveller, I like to stay somewhere peaceful and near to places to visit. Also, if you are a keen stargazer, this is the place for you there is no light pollution and you have amazing views I unfortunately didn’t get to meet Beth as she was on holiday, but I was left very clear instructions on how to get into the property and left very happy. Can’t wait to stay again

Beautiful, cottage with amazing views.

The property would benefit from some heating installed as it was very cold especially in the bathroom. The bed would benefit from a new mattress and upgrade of bed linen and towels.

Had a great time relaxing at the Retreat such a peaceful location Beth is a lovely Lady and very welcoming we would recommend the Retreat to everyone.

Where do we begin?

There are just so many nice things to comment on, hopefully I can include everything. Beth, the owner, is an amazing host. From the text message to say we'd missed the turning, the smile and wave when we got back to the gate, we knew we'd struck lucky. She walked us through the property and showed us how everything works and where everything was. She had left us homemade cake and a Welsh lovespoon as a welcome, and apologised for not getting flowers, but came back the day after with a bottle of prosecco for our 10th wedding anniversary. The property was out of this world. The cinema room with the hundreds of dvds and popcorn was so much nicer than the photos. The mahoosive sofa with throws to snuggle up under and the sound made it feel just like an exclusive cinema experience. The bedroom, with views to die for, was comfortable and welcoming. We loved the table by the window for that early morning cup of tea, while watching the occasional sheep and cows in the field right behind it. The bed was just so comfortable and ideal to lounge around in while looking at the view. The living room, with it's log burner, was homely with the Freesat TV. The kitchen was equipped with everything you could possibly need for your stay. With the welcome addition of a bottle of milk,water and jam/marmalade ready and waiting in the fridge. The seating areas outside were just perfect. Benches and a table were just by the front door, for those alfresco meals. And last but not least, the wood-burning hot-tub. This was just the absolute highlight of our visit(our first time in one) with a table and chairs right next to it, along with a barbecue and hammock. This area looked so pretty at night when we switched the fairy lights on. So pretty!

It really is a beautiful place, completely serene and the hot tub was wonderful.

We had an amazing three night stay at The Retreat - the weather was perfect and we came away having a proper restful break!

Really didn't want to leave, everything about the property was perfect. The hot tub, the cinema room, the views from the bedroom. All so wonderful, and we cannot wait to return. Beth was so so lovely as well - thanks so much!

The Retreat is the most beautiful place relaxing & peaceful set in rolling green hills & fields made all the more special by our hostess Beth who added lovely touches such as fresh flowers milk,eggs, barra brith,biscuits which was so appreciated everywhere is super clean & homely with absolutely everything you could want or need for your stay we had a wonderful few days celebrating my birthday and would recommend both Beth & her beautiful property 100%

A perfectly relaxing stay with views to die for.

Everything was great.

Beth (the property owner) was so lovely. We couldn't have hoped for a warmer welcome! The cottage really is a little home away from home. So comfy, and the views can't be beaten! It really was the perfect place for us to get away as a couple, and we loved every minute. The hot tub and the cinema room are great additions, we spent an entire week at the retreat and didn't even leave the cottage on some days, as it had everything we needed! Thank you so much Beth for having us, and we will definitely be back in the future.

Beth was super host !

Fresh eggs, freshly baked cake, two personal keepsakes, milk, bottled water and popcorn all provided to welcome us! The place was pristine and to see it in person is a pure wonder. There were sheep and baby lambs upon our arrival in our little garden area which we could view from our bedroom window and back garden seating area. The bed was so comfy and the hot tub was pure bliss after each day of long walks. There was a friendly horse out the front on the property as well as chickens and super friendly dogs that joyfully greeted us.we were even lucky enough to see bats having fun in the evenings. We had the most magical stay and can’t wait to come back :) x

This was a lovely stay, the owner is lovely so friendly and welcoming, nothing is too much.

We were in contact to let know of time of arrival and she offered to set the tub ready for our arrival as it was late November it was chilly but the hot tub was lovely and hot for our arrival. The cinema room is just incredible and all the DVDs and popcorn awaiting, along with a home made cake was such a delight. Set in the valleys with the largest waterfall not too far a drive and that was a lovely day out whilst there. It was such an incredible peaceful stay and although set in the owners grounds and close to house, you still feel very alone and left at peace. Amazing stay definitely have recommended for a peaceful stay in nature.

This is such a special place cant fault it at all , Beth the owner goes above and beyond with all the special attention to detail , we wanted for nothing .

We really enjoyed our stay at The Retreat.

It is clean and cosy with stunning views. Beth, the owner, is very friendly and helpful and provided fresh eggs from her chickens and milk on arrival, along with a lovely homemade Barra Brith. We didn't use the hot tub but would imagine it is amazing on warmer evenings. The bed and settee were both comfortable and the shower was nice and powerful. The patio/garden area is enclosed so very dog friendly. The Retreat is a great base for walks in the surrounding area, which is beautiful, and we would definitely return in the future.

Incredible place to stay.

Views are out of this world & the hosts were very accommodating. Would recommend here to anyone & everyone.. and no more than an hour away from some incredible places from Mountains to lakes. The only thing that could be improved is a better mattress. ( but then I am a larger guy who needs a firmer mattress ) Other than that is a 10/10.... in everyway! ☺️☺️ can't wait to go back in the future...

An absolutely beautiful place to stay.

Every little detail was thought about, such as popcorn in the cinema room. The hot tub was awesome, being sat outside late at night looking up at the stars was truly amazing. The host, Beth was so lovely made us feel so welcome and comfortable, even made us a beautiful cake. We will definitely come back

We had a lovely Short break at the Retreat.

Bev was wonderful and lovely. Very caring. We are already missing waking up to that lovely view and Fresh Eggs. Bill is already missing Ozzie and Lola and keeps looking for them.

We just came back from the most perfect and relaxing holiday.

Beth is absolutely amazing and such a wonderful host. The cottage has a lovely countryside charm with all the amenities you could wish for, even an air fryer! There is plenty of things to do around such as the waterfall, visit to the lake (short drive) and also Welshpool steam train but we opted for few days of doing nothing but sit outside and watch the sheep graze. It’s absolutely relaxing and a great escape from the busy city! We will be back!

fantastic position,views are amazing.

Cottage is great so cumfy,cinema room is great just like been in one .Bedroom has fantastic views and very cumfy bed .Ideal for both our dogs very safe for them they had a great time.Kitchen well equiped ,could just do with some sharper knifes.Bathroom nice and clean.The log burning hot tub is really nice but you need some patience with it ,needs about 2.5 hrs to warm up.Best supermarkets in Welshpool 30 mins away,if you want to go eat there the raven is really good eaten there quite a few times over the years.Will be booking to go back here its just great :)

What lovely place to stay !

Highly recommended this place. we were very well looked after. Home made cake and eggs fresh from the farm. And wow! What a view from accommodation ! Will definitely recommend this to my family and friends.

Every little detail was complete for this stay from a pint of milk in the fridge to plenty of fuel for the log burner which kept the property toasty warm.

The views are stunning. Bed really comfortable. The fencing kept my little dog in (he has kidney disease so has to go out for a wee about 2am most days). Internet was great for a rural area I had a tutorial at 9am Tuesday which was fine and a lecture 5.30-8pm Thursday where teams dropped out once. Watched a film in the cinema room which is a great add on. Most of all we have come home feeling really rested. Fantastic property and host.

Communication following our booking was easy, prompt and wonderfully warm. We felt welcomed before we even got there! The Retreat is a fantastic place, wonderful location, brilliant hosts and incredible views. Highly recommended for a “get away from it all” break. There really is everything you need in the property, the cinema room is a fantastic addition, and we may now need one in our house! Really wonderful from start to finish. Our host even went the extra mile to post something to us that we had forgotten - just so helpful. Thank you.

Home from home with everything you need for a peaceful break away.

Wonderful location with great views and local places to explore. Movie room is fab with added extras like popcorn and snuggle blankets. The owner Beth is lovely, we saw her on arrival then again as we left but she was always on hand if needed. Safe enclosed area for fur babies with bbq area and chimnea for romantic nights outdoors. Would definately reccomend a stay if you want to relax and recharge

What a lovely place .

Everything you need plus nice touches such as homemade cake and eggs on arrival .The views from the Retreat are beautiful.We had such a relaxing break and there are plenty things to do not far away .Beth was so nice and welcoming even showed us the other of her retreat ( Shepards hut ) and the new hot tub . Beth and Mike were the perfect hosts helpful but unobtrusive.

We were met and shown round every appliance was explained to us even how to make the log fire up, we spent the week when the heatwave happened in September. As we stepped into the bedroom the view from the windows took our breath away. To wake up up to that was a delight. the patio runs the length of the cottage. plenty of room for alfresco meals. The little touches such as the Welsh bread fresh eggs and flowers from the garden and enough bottled water and tea coffee and milk so you could sit outside straight away and enjoy the landscape. We will be returning!

The Retreat is just that, a great place to relax, take in the splendid views and ‘retreat’ from the busy world for a while.

A super place for two, everything you need and a bit more besides (a cinema room no less!) coupled with an owner who epitomises what being a welcoming host should be. Beth was on hand when we arrived to show us around and there when we left, always contactable but never intrusive. And because the cottage faces away from the main house you never feel as though you are intruding on them either which is really great. We very much much enjoyed and appreciated our stay, it was exactly what we hoped it would be. Highly recommended.

The Retreat is a little slice of heaven.

Calm & peaceful. The views are stunning & even on cloudy or rainy days the view is still breath taking & calming. Beth is an amazing host & nothing is too much trouble & she is on hand for any questions etc. However, she is very respectful of your privacy. The cake (thank you Beth) was amazing & the freshly laid eggs the best! The Retreat is well equipped & with the added extra of the cinema room. Lake Vyrnwy is a must! There is a short walk (20 mins at a pleasant pace) to the water fall which is well worth it. Llangollen village is another visit well worth a look. The river is stunning & the village quaint. There are horse drawn canal boat rides from there too. All in all a week just isn't enough to enjoy the tranquility of the Retreat & get out & see the beautiful sights all around you. The next time we come we will book both the Retreat & the Shepherds hut so we can share our experience with our family or friends.

This is a lovely Place wonderful to wake up to views over meadows with sheep and hills in the distance Beth is a great owner on hand if you have a problem and left treats all over.

Nice area to explore village nearby has a handy shop would recommend it best we have ever stayed at

What an amazing place!

Beautiful countryside and views. The retreat is up a short lane and overlooks the valley, very quiet all you hear is birds singing, plus sheep and cows occasionally. It is a good walk to the nearest village, with great country pubs and convenience shop. You do need a car to get further afield. Beth & Mike are fabulous hosts, nothing is too much trouble. We didn’t use the cinema room on this stay, as we spent a lot of time outdoors. The highest waterfall in wales is accessible from the village along a single track road.

A little slice of heaven with the most fantastic scenery, if you want peace and quiet with stunning views this is it, along with the most perfect hosts.

This place is a gem, Beth was lovely and made us feel very at home that we did not want to leave, The Retreat was a very cosy home from home ,we had treats left for us which were very welcome and went down well with a coffee sat on the bench set outside on the decking taking in the spectacular views Thank you Beth for a wonderful break Terry, Jo and Josh dog

What a lovely place in a lovely location and with such lovely helpful hosts.

An excellent place to stay, hosts really welcoming with cake and enough logs to keep the fire going the whole time we were away.

There are so many beautiful places to visit within a short drive, and we thoroughly recommend a visit to Harlech Castle, and also Erddig (National Trust). If one doesn't wish to travel any distance, then enjoy the views from the cottage which are stunning......food for the soul. Thanks again, Beth and Mike, for a unforgettable holiday experience.

The Retreat was exactly what we needed after some hectic times.

Beth gave us a warm welcome with a delicious homemade cake, chocolate chip cookies and freshly laid eggs from her free range chickens. The view from the windows were spectacular! Each day was special. We loved the tranquility and peace the surrounding hills exuded.

Beth and Mike made us feel like we were staying with friends.

Their nature made us feel like we were welcome in their home. They made us a cake and left biscuits and tea and coffee for our consumption. The accommodation was clean with everything you need for a break. The views are stunning and it’s a great base to explore the area. A superb let that we would recommend 100%.

Beth and Mike were excellent hosts, they make us feel very very welcome, we arrived early and they let us come in , they let us share their home and garden like it was our own.

The retreat views were amazing very relaxing. The cottage it’s self was very very cozy and comfortable it had everything and more in it than expected . Beth had baked us a cake to have on arrival there was also fresh eggs there and all the essentials like tea , coffee and milk in the fridge. The eggs were from her own garden chickens which I loved feeding. Our dog loved exploring there home and garden and was made very welcome. Beth and Mike were very knowledgeable about places to go and see and gave us little tips like free parking places

We arrived with a plan to be hermits for 5 days and recharge our batteries.

It was perfect. The views from the comfortable chairs in the bedroom allowed us to sit and gaze at the changing scenery and weather for hours. The facilities were very private and very comfortable. Beth welcomed us and then we were left to be hermits. Clean, well equipped and really appreciated the newly laid eggs and freshly made Bara Brith. A short walk to the bridge meant we watched a kingfisher flying around. We will be back.
