Clean, well equipped cottage with everything we needed!

Very quiet and peaceful with pleasant owners! The only problem we had as there was no opening downstairs window we had to leave patio doors open for some fresh air and our inquisitive dog escaped! That was only a minor problem and everything else was brilliant including the warm welcome! Thank you!

This is a little bit of paradise, there was nothing negative about this peaceful cottage.

It has been well thought out to use all available space with great quality furnishings. Sitting outside watching the sheep graze, with the lake glistening and birdsong was the best way to destress. The bed and sofa are very comfortable, shower is great, kitchen has everything you'd need. TV in lounge and bedroom with lots of storage. Thank you Mandy for the Welsh cakes, wine, milk and water and thank you for your welcome and being there to answer questions, great contact even the week before we arrived. We will be back, and it won't be just once, we've found a little bit of paradise. We also loved paddle boarding on Lake Vrynwy.

Accommodation was perfect for two people with everything we needed for a self catering stay.

A welcome pack of wine, Welsh cakes, milk and bottled water was an unexpected and much appreciated surprise. Although the owners lived on site they were visible but not intrusive. The area surrounding the accommodation is very scenic and quiet with plenty of walking available.

Absolutely gorgeous property and great value for the price we paid.

Exceptionally clean (probably the cleanest we have ever stayed in) Amazing views of the lake and total peace except for the birds and the woodpecker. Had a mixed bag of weather but still able to have some fabulous walks from the property. Only constructive criticism was the bed wasn’t for us (but this is personal really) and would be useful to have a tray to carry meals to the table. Certainly would stay again if we were to go to this area.

Beautifull and quiet, views were amazing, owners were friendly, helpful and a lovely family, highly recomended for a quiet getaway.

Lovely place everything you need good fan oven can easily make a full Sunday roast very clean place only thing is the matress so bad ob pressure points on your body back was terrible at the end wonderful older couple who own the place there is 3 cottages in a row old cart house sleeps 2 next door is lety dewi that's sleeps four and has a electric log burner then hen baid I think its called sleeps 2 to wake up every morning and look out over the lake was very special one day the lake was like a sheet of glass so peaceful here you won't be disappointed

The pictures of the exterior are somewhat misleading, as there are actually 3 cottages in the block, but the description doesn't make this clear.

The cottage itself is quite nice, with great views over the lake but given it's a self catering place, a few more utensils could be provided (such as a whisk and some sharp preparation knives). Oh, and a new frying pan is needed - the current one is dished so doesn't sit flat on the hob, therefore doesn't heat up properly across the base...

The owners very friendly and accommodating and the cottage had everything we needed for a great stay. The cottage was spotless with all mod cons. Did not want to leave!

The property was well maintained and clean and the facilities were of a good standard.

Glad we booked this one as there was plenty of storage. Wonderful view from the cottage, even when the weather was a bit inclement. Local shop was well stocked and owner was very friendly. Enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

I booked out the Old Cart House along with Llewy Dewy and Hen Blaid with all cottages having integrated doors which can be unlocked.

All cottages have great views of Lake Vyrnwy and can be booked out individually or as three. Llety Dewy sleeps 4 with Hen Blaid and the Old cart House sleeping 2 people. All three cottages allow 2 dogs in each. With having stayed in Hen Blaid last year 2024 I decided to book all three cottages for all the family this year. I would definitely recommend these cottages and most certainly will be returning for future holidays.

Fabulous break in a very well appointed property, some lovely touches, and one of the best views from a holiday home we have had.

Another great stay at The Old Cart House.

Lake Vyrnwy is such a beautiful, remote setting and the views of the lake from the cottage are perfect. The cottage itself is very thoughtfully designed and laid out, it’s really well looked after, and it’s clean and tidy—there were even a couple of welcome gifts for us, including local Welsh cakes. Be aware that the internet is slow and patchy (it’s rural Wales—it is what it is), but this is a good excuse to put your phone down and go out star gazing as we did on a beautiful clear night, or pull out one of the puzzles in the drawers.

Absolutely loved our stay here and have already started sharing the link to recommend to friends We had everything we would need , the cottage was spotless and we loved how the linen all smelt freshly washed .

It was cosy and the recliner sofa just added to the comfort . We even managed to cook a full roast dinner just like we would at home .the location is perfect and the views were amazing of my favourite place . Thank you so much to the owners for providing such fantastic accommodation.

Lovely little cottage.

Perfect view out of the glass doors across the lake from the sofa. Great dark skies at night with fantastic stars when the weather allows. So much wonderful countryside in the surrounding area. A walkers paradise. Clean, comfortable, plenty of hooks/storage, warm. A helpful welcome pack of tea/coffee/milk. Until the end of the week, the weather was suprisingly kind to us. Loved it.

The old cart house cottage is fantastic, a very picturesque, secluded location.

The property is extremely clean, comfortable, warm and cosy. Renovations are of a very high standard. The property is fully equipped with kitchen accessories, home from home .A welcome pack including tea. coffee. milk ,sugar ,cake and wine, was very much appreciated. I can not find fault with this dwelling , Thank you

Beautiful location and lovely clean comfortable cottage.

The view from the cottage is stunning. So many nice thoughtful touches. I had 2 dogs with me that needed to go on lead outside as there isn't a private enclosed garden but along the track and a short distance down a very quiet road was a lovely walk through the woods. A little waterproof shelter or box outside the door for muddy boots would have been appreciated. Thank you for providing us with a wonderful stay.

Was lovely looking over the lake. The only things I would say needs improving is the blind needs to be thicker as it let's light in and the bed is a little hard

Me & my partner have just spent a week here with are cockapoo, we came here for a little break before we have are son in a few months time.

Everything about this stay was pretty perfect! The place was beautiful, the views were beautiful! It was so quiet, cosy and homely. Everything you needed was there for you.. coffee, tea, sugar, kettle, microwave, oven, toaster, pans, hoover, brush, mop, Everything really. We shall definitely be booking again once are son arrives!

Had a lovely week on the Old Cart House,it was extremely comfortable, and exceptionally clean, everything we needed was there, the owners were friendly and offered advice on the surrounding area, the only thing we found missing was somewhere to rinse the dogs down after muddy outings The views from the old cart house are unbelievable

The cottage was beautiful, minimalistic with everything you could need.

It was spotlessly clean with views that just speak for themselves. The view was from the patio doors and the bedroom window. There was all the pots pans and crockery you could need, even an ironing board should you need. Leaflets and maps of local area and a couple of books on local history. The owners were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely return and will recommend to everyone. If your looking for total peace, views and walks this is ideal

Amazing stay!

Will be returning but for longer next time. Well worth the money, perfect for a cosy getaway as well as an amazing location with plenty of nature and walks a mere drive away! The cottage had everything you could imagine needing during your stay. Thankyou

The Old Cart House has a lovely view of the lake and is very peaceful.
