The cottage is in a lovely, peaceful location.

The containers of colourful flowers around the property were welcoming as were the cakes left in the kitchen. The standard of cleanliness was good. We enjoyed the hot tub and the bed was comfortable. However, there are a number of maintenance issues which need to be attended to. We could not lock the front door and could not open one of the two side gates. The other side gate also needs to be better maintained. The back fences are pealing paint. Immediately behind the cottage, there is what appears to be a dilapidated, former tennis court which is surrounded with rusting fences. The bathroom is extremely small and the shower has a very weak flow of water. The coat hook in the bathroom fell off when I hung my dressing-gown on it. The sofa in the living-room is painful to sit on for long periods as the springs appear to be broken. With more time and money spent on its upkeep, this cottage could be made into a special place in which to stay, given its ideal location.

This was our first visit this property.

It is a lovely place perfectly placed to visit the area of Welshpool and surrounding places. A very clean and comfortable place with the added bonus of a hot tub. Arwel (the owner) was very welcoming friendly and helpful too.

What a great place for a totally relaxing break Arwell was also a great help and gave us great advice on what to do and see in the area which was very helpful

First impressions, were that someone cares about the guest. The cakes that Mrs Jones had left were delicious and presented as if on Bake Off. Thanks... We had an amazing stay at Bwthyn Ty Newydd. (Tiny new house) Translated. When the weather is awful and you still have a great stay, that's says a lot about the accommodation. Whether you stock up on food essentials and don't go anywhere but relax here for your stay or if you like to explore further afield, this place is for you. Bwthyn Ty Newydd is amid miles of open countryside, very peaceful and very comfortable. The hot tub is well maintained and clean. There's a small decked patio area with table, chairs and even a gas BBQ. There are lovely hanging baskets and pots bursting with flowers all around the property. Inside we felt warm and cosy the central heating works well and the log burner was a treat on a cold night. The bed was comfortable. WiFi worked well and once we'd mastered the Freesat box the TV signal was good too. There's even a small selection of games. Arwel was always cheerful and welcoming and despite being one of the busiest men We've met, always had time to stop and talk. A real lovely chap. We'd love to return and hope to do so soon. We had a lovely stay in Y Bwthyn; Arwel was very welcoming.

It's a beautiful cottage & it's in a very peaceful setting. It's worth mentioning though that if you stay for a week you'll need to furnish yourself with a few extra dishwasher tablets and an extra toilet roll - small points but worth knowing in advance. As others have said, the provision of cakes & milk was a very thoughtful & kind touch.

We booked this cottage for my partners birthday and to get away to relax in the stunning Welsh countryside.

We did manage to achieve this, however we were disturbed by the adjacent cottage on two nights. You'd expect anyone getting away to the countryside to respect their surroundings and others around them, but unfortunately this wasn't the case. The first group who we were met with the first night of our stay were a nightmare. They were there to party, play loud music and drink. To his credit, I sent a text to Arwel during the night and by the next day he'd cut their stay short. They had trashed tje cottage and unfortunately Arwel had to clear it all up. I'd like to preface that none of the groups' behaviour is a reflection of Arwel at all. He was always on hand to help and always checked if we were okay, if we needed anything etc. We then had a blissful five days with no disturbances until the group on our last night arrived. Guests were very noisy in the pool and also a few of the guests were disruptive and shined their phone torches towards us and then took flash photos whilst we were trying to get some peace in the hot tub, which is really weird behaviour. This was gone 11pm, and unfortunately it put a dampener on what was otherwise a wonderful week away. We left early due to this as I wasn't comfortable with the ordeal. It seems we had a streak of bad luck, as judging from the other reviews the guests are usually respectful and quiet. I don't want this review to be all negative, because we had the best time despite the other guests. Everything else was absolutely perfect! The cottage was wonderful and can't fault it. The scenery was beautiful, there were lots of cows and sheep and green hills. Arwel always made sure we had everything we needed and asked if we had enough logs etc. The bed was the comfiest we'd slept in for ages, kitchen was well equipped and immaculate inside. We made a lovely roast dinner in it. Loved the hot tub, it was the best maintained one we've had! We had an amazing five nights and we seen a lot of beautiful sights including the nearby waterfall and lake. You could also see all the stars as there's zero light pollution in the area. Wales is truly stunning. Shame about the lack of privacy though. We would love come back and would hope that next time we get luckier with the guests we'd share the space with.

Lovely cottage with all the facilities you needed.

The hot tub and log burner made a cold autumnal Wales very cosy after a day of exploring. Mr Jones was a very helpful and hospitable host who couldn’t help enough. Lovely touch of leaving some welcoming cakes too. Would definitely recommended.

Such a lovely little cottage and so quiet and peaceful, If your looking for an idyllic quiet stay with just enough room for two this place is the right place.

The host was so friendly and welcoming, the cottage was beautiful with good amenities and all you could want in a holiday home. You can’t be afraid to do some small trips in the car or a good walk if you need to go to a shop or out for an evening but me and my husband traveled to two small shops in the area and all the staff were friendly, helpful and the shops themselves stocked with all you could possibly need. All in all in was a great way to spend our 10th wedding anniversary and I would absolutely recommend to someone else

We had a wonderful weekend at the cottage.

Beautiful place, very clean and cosy. We enjoyed the hot tub and the bbq. Hosts were great. We had a day out to powis Castle and another up to Chester zoo. Would definitely stay again, highly recommended

Upon arrival we were impressed by how clean and tidy the property was and the owner couldn't have been more helpful.

Unfortunately we were both quite ill and had to cut our stay short but again the owner couldn't be more obliging. Only one minor criticism of the property is that the sofa had sagged quite badly in the centre making it difficult to sit comfortably.

Absolutely perfect, peaceful and very accommodating hosts.

Went for my husbands birthday and was not at all disappointed. Very warm welcome, beautiful to have a wood burner for after a dip in the hot tub. We booked knowing its remote location, perfect for peace and quiet, also star gazing as no light pollution. An hour drive to some beautiful waterfalls and castle. Also a half hour dive to an Italian restaurant that is the best I have been to. The drives are longer then a xpected only because of the small country roads. We are coming back as soon as possible. They also have a very large properties door to accommodate a family get together, sleeps 15. You can hire both and have the little cottage to escape them all

Lovely welcoming cottage, enjoyed the log burner and hot tub very much, surrounded by nature and lovely views.

A warm welcome with a pint of milk and some delicious cakes when we arrived was much appreciated. Would I recommend? Definitely. Would I stay again? Definitely.

A lovely, relaxing property with lots of homely amenities included.

Beautiful landscape and a tranquil escape which is perfect for what we wanted. Isolated area but only a short drive away to some lovely days out. The hosts were lovely too - patient (as we were slightly late when we became a little lost as we'd missed a landmark) and very friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to visit again - maybe in colder months so we can take advantage of the log fire!

The cottage is lovely and Arwel is a fantastic host.

If you are looking for a much needed break away from the hustle and bustle of life, this is a perfect place to go. The hot tub is lovely and has great views across the fields, where you can watch the swallows dipping and diving overhead.

On arrival, my wife and I were met by the lovely owner who made us very welcome.

There were even fresh cakes and milk for us. Nothing was too much trouble. The property was immaculate with everything we needed. Very quiet surrounded by lovely countryside and the weather was fantastic. There were some great local tourist attractions a short drive away including the music festival in Meifod. I would highly recommend this property and will return.

We enjoyed using the hot tub, the log burner and the bbq and we’re lucky enough to get some Sun to enjoy lying on the sun lingers on the little lawn. We had a lovely day out at lake vyrwyny and a lovely local walk. I would definitely go again

The cottage was so cosy and homey.

Loved the log fire and the hot tub, perfect for the weather that we had. Great location for exploring Mach loop & Welshpool. Only thing I would suggest is to upgrade the shower head as its not very powerful and at times it was a trickle. Overrall our holiday was fab and cottage is great, we would stay again.

We had a lovely week at Bwthyn Ty Newydd which sits in a quiet and secluded location.

Easy to find, with the help of Google Maps, we were greeted with a warm welcome and a lovely selection of homemade cakes which went down well with a cuppa after our long journey (milk was in the fridge, too). All you could need is supplied in the accommodation, including a lovely roaring fire when we walked in which we kept going with the supplied logs. The kitchen is well equipped, the bed is comfy and the living room was cosy when nighttime arrived. In the garden, the hot tub is the perfect size for two and we enjoyed sitting out in the sun, watching the lambs enjoying their new freedom in the nearby fields. If peace and quiet are what you are after, this is the perfect location for it and clear night skies allowed for amazing star gazing. A lovely chapel can be found at the end of the road with a lake, waterfall and other walking routes a short drive away. You're also only a couple of hours away from the coast and Snowdonia isn't too far either. Welshpool and Newtown have a good selection of supermarkets and there are a few pubs around too. Lovely stay - highly recommended.

It was so lovely to walk in to the cottage to such a great warm atmosphere wood fire on heating blaring away!

We were snowed in for two days and the host Arwel was brilliant checking we were OK had enough food etc and there was always plenty of logs available. He even cleared the roads from snow so we could get out on the day we were due to leave!

After our original planned Break fell through via another booking site I luckily found this as a cancellation , to turn up and find that it was literally everything we could of possibly dream of for a break was a pure blessing, we were greeted by the Beautiful Del and shown around and how to work things such as the Hot Tub and the Log fire, then that was it, left to our pure peaceful solitude , it was amazing, the hot tub was running permanently, the place was pure luxury and perfect for us.

In arrival there was Milk; tea; coffee; sugar and a selection of thee most phenomenal cakes on a platter as a welcome feature, they didn't last long at all.... As much as I really wouldn't want the place to be too popular that we couldnt book a spot ourselves I can't help but sing the praises of our lovely hosts, we wanted for nothing , they absolutely beautiful People, We were humbled to stay in their beautiful Cottage x

Lovely chilled weekend had by myself and my partner.

Just what we needed. Property and facilities were great. Everything we needed. Owner was pleasant and helpful.

We had a lovely few days at the cottage over New Year.

The kitchen was equipped with everything you could possibly need, although salt, not a salt shaker 'would have been useful. The living area was beautiful and cosy with the addition of a log burner. The bedroom was beautifully decorated and the bed was comfy too. We didn't realise quite how isolated the cottage was and due to really bad weather didn't venture far at all. One thing I think I would have liked was a roof over the hot tub. Even just a simple open sided structure with a roof would have enabled us to use this facility during the wet weather!! Saying that we would go again and the owner and his wife were both friendly and helpful.

What an absolute gem this little cottage is, we spent Xmas 2022 here and loved it.

It has a well equipped kitchen and a beautiful living room. The log burner and hot tub are just what we needed on the chilly nights. The bedroom is well decorated and we had the best nights sleep ever in the amazingly comfy bed. The owner Arwel is friendly and helpful if needed but also happy to leave you to enjoy your time in the cottage alone. Perfect break.

It’s our second visit to the cottage it was a really nice stay !

The bed is so comfy! I would say a bigger pan was needed for what I was cooking but it’s plenty big enough for two ! Just I was making a risotto for first time and didn’t realise the recipe was for 4 people but it made plenty for dinner to lol. Hot tub was nice just didn’t use it much with the heatwave lol. Thank you for having us

We wanted for nothing, Cottage is very well equipped, clean with an extremely comfortable bed and to cap it all there was a mini heatwave while we were there. We had a very warm welcome from Mr and Mrs Jones and the delicious cakes left for us to have with our tea we're a very nice touch. Would fully recommend. For anyone wanting a peaceful break.

The owners have thought of everything, from logs for the wood burner to dishwasher pellets and a comprehensive system for recycling.

We had not visited that part of Wales before and were captivated by the beauty and variety of the scenery and lack of traffic.

A wonderful place to stay, would highly recommend!

Me and my partner were here for a week and would happily have stayed longer. We were given a lovely tour and provided with cakes when we arrived, it was overall very welcoming. The wood fire was lovely, and all of the amenities were excellent quality. The place does tend to creak a lot at night but if you bring earphones or ear-plugs it won't be an issue if you're a light sleeper like myself! We would love to come and stay again, thank you for a great time.

Hot tub was lovely after a long day walking and is provided with plenty of cover from the bigger house with a big parasol. So peaceful and quiet it was perfect. We only left yesterday and cant wait to make a return back!

Peace and quiet beautiful location in this lovely cottage on arrival we were meet by Arwell who showed us around the cottage and explained how everything works the garden is nice all fenced in and the hot tub was very nice as well oh and not to forget the lovely cakes that was given on arrival and the milk in fridge .

This one bedroom cottage shares the main grounds with a house which can sleep 15.

However, the house is sufficiently far enough away from the cottage that there is little noise, even when a large group is staying there. The grounds are well kept and full of flower beds and tubs which are tended to regularly by Del. The cottage itself is well equipped for self catering, boasting a gas oven and hob, which came in very useful when we experienced power cuts during our week's stay; and how blissful to be able to cook with gas!!! The main door opens straight into the lounge and dining area, boasting a high ceiling with stain glass window. The spacious bedroom is off this area and has a dressing table, two bedside cabinets and wardrobe, along with comfortable double bed. The well equipped kitchen is accessed through an open doorway from the lounge area, and as well as the gas oven and hob has dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and under counter fridge and freezer, and plenty of cupboard space, which is filled with crockery, pots and pans, cutlery and anything else you might need! The combined shower room and toilet, with sink, is situated off the kitchen. The back door opens onto a small patio area where there is are table and chairs for two, with parasol plus barbecue, leading to a lawned area and raised platform containing a two person hot-tub with large parasol. You can see the main house from this area, but it is sufficiently far enough away not to be intrusive. The owners, Arwell and Del are friendly and welcoming, making sure they were on hand when we arrived, and attending every day to see to the hot tub. Arwell kept us informed re the re-establishment of power and took pains to make sure we enjoyed our stay and Del provided us with cake and milk. We highly recommend Bwthen ty Newydd as a place to enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside, with plenty of places to visit and walks around the area; or somewhere just to stay and relax.

A great holiday house in a lovely location with lots of facilities.

We used the house as a base for walking the Glyndwr Way and to comply with current restrictions also booked the adjacent cottage. Both properties were very comfortable and the hot tubs were an added luxury after a day's walking. I should imagine these are ideal locations for family get togethers in the future

The cottage is the most well equipped we have stayed in.

The location is perfect for peace and tranquillity and birdsong. Perfection personified.

The place is idyllic, only the sound of birds for company, very warm and comfortable, the hotub a bonus and the lady host who met us was lovely, thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The only downfall was the hot tub think it needs to be a little covered, the house is overlooking and takes away the privacy. Also can't use it if raining due no cover over it

Great place, so peaceful, great owner, the only thing is I would let other guests know there is a big house accommodating 15 or 17 people, we were lucky the house was not booked out, if it had it would not of been so peaceful

Fantastic little cottage in a very quiet / rural location.

Hot tub was great, we spent at least 4 hours on both nights watching the stars with a glass or two of bubbly from the tub (Absolutely zero light pollution so the sky's where very clear on an evening). It had a gas BBQ/grill in the back garden which was a very nice touch, we made use of that during the 1st day of our stay as it was the perfect weather for it. Complementary home made muffins where in the kitchen on arrival which was also a very nice touch. I haven't got anything negative to say about the stay, very pleasant / relaxing overall.

Lovely weekend away in this fit for purpose cottage, it has everything you need, owner was going to have the fire lit for our arrival but we turned up earlier than expected.

Devine cake was left for us together with a pint of milk, lovely personal touch. Owner, Arwel, very helpful. Hot tub was lovely and hot for chilly nights. Lots of lovely walks and Llyn Efyrnwy approx 14 miles away, a visit there is highly recommended. Looking forward to returning.

Lovely little cottage, stayed a week here, kitchen is brilliant, plenty of utensils, unlike other places where you can barely make a dinner!

Extremely clean and lovely little hot tub to go with it! Owner was very helpful and offered assistance if needed! Only downside to the cottage for us was the shower as it lacked power a lot, and the bed, by the 5th night became quite uncomfortable but that could just be as as we like a firm bed! However would happily stay here again and would recommend to friends! Thankyou Arwel!

Everything was so beautifully maintained, inside the cottage was immaculate as was the outside spaces, flower baskets & garden so beautifully maintained that there were butterflies & bees all around.

The cottage and location are perfect and the hosts amazing Arwell Jones is the nicest man I have met.

The holiday was perfect.

The cottage is truly wonderful, such a wonderful surprise when we got there as photos do not do this cottage justice.

It was so clean and comfortable, had more then enough items especially the kitchen it was a home from home. What you cant get from photos is how beautiful the cottage smelt (odd comment i know, but i love my diffuses and it just adds to the welcome experience). Hot tub was amazing and perfect after a long day out. We never needed to use the log burner but im sure in the winter months it would be lovely. The owner Arwell was so helpful and was around if needed but never intrusive and the homemade cakes on arrival where so yummy after such a long drive. We would definitely stay here again. If your wanting a peaceful holiday away from it all, you definitely get it here. You do feel like your in the middle of nowhere which for me was heaven. Thank you Arwell, your place is a hidden gem.

Arwel was lovely bloke very welcoming but not in your face.

Cottage was as described, only thing that let it down for me was no bath and shower was not good pressure found it difficult to get enough power to wash your . Would def go back again tho .

Arwel is more than helpful and the cottage is kept to a very high standard. It's very remote but that is exactly what we wanted. 10 out of 10

location does not match the listing.

no facilities within 35 min drive. Wasps all over the cottage as a nest was on the outside of the building. could not have the windows open due to this. couldn't use the hot tub for same reason. lay in bed all you can here was buzzing coming through the wall from the nest and the house where WiFi was boosted from turned off at 7 so could not be used. arrived on Friday afternoon left on Sunday midday. owner was nice but just could not cope with the issues.

Lovely little cottage and very friendly owner.

We were unaware that the cottage was so near another large house with a lot of people in it. The hot tub is not screened from the other property when people are on the terrace which we found a little disconcerting. Beautiful quiet location.

Everything about the accommodation was excellent.

The neighbouring property was vacant at the time of visit and so there was complete and utter quiet. Owner was extremely helpful and attentive. Certainly would consider a return visit.

It was a perfect break, Mr Jones was very helpful and the cottage was very cosy with the beautiful log fire and the added bonus of outdoor patio with bbq and hot tub.

Hot tub great. Local farmhouse offering nice food at reasonable prices (10 minute walk from cottage). Owner very friendly. When people occupy big house next door maybe a screen or higher fence could be out up for a bit more privacy when in the hot tub. Woukd definitely recommend and go back for another visit. Didn't want to leave.

Just the break we needed. Hot tub a real bonus even with the hailstones. Special touches made the stay complete, milk and cakes awaiting for our arrival. Could not fault it.

Only one negative it didn't have a cover and if the cottage next door was taken you may have been overlooked. But it didn't spoil our holiday and would definitely recommend this cottage.. Stunning cottage.

Ideal for a break for the two of us. We got married on the 18/08/18. Booked the cottage at short notice. Sykes were very helpful in helping us find something where other companies had not been. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The only thing I could suggest would be the hot tub could be a little more private as it is overlooked by the large house slightly

The owner was very welcoming and left us to our holiday but was always there if you needed something. In a very quiet location with lovely views from all around, definitely a place to go if you just want to completely relax.

Excellent cottage.

Good size, well set out and very clean. Lovely for two people or as part of a bigger package if you book the large farm house on the same site. Jacuzzi and use of large garden to the rear, plenty of parking space. Beautiful area to explore.

Yes the owners make the holiday, you only facilitate.

Our host was friendly and checked up on us each day during the extreme weather as he did daily tests on the hot tub chlorine levels. Service beyond the norm was escorting us down to the main road when we left Thursday to beat the worst of the forecasted snow. His Landover made a path for us through the developing drifts and the grit in the back rescued us when stuck on a hill, along with other locals who mucked in to push and provide extra traction by leaning on the car wing over our driving wheels, and with a tow up the final shorter hill and a cautious no braking descent we reached the gritted main road safely. Thanking Arwell profusely he made light of it saying "It's just what we do round here" a holiday escape to remember!

We have stayed at Bwthyn Ty Newydd twice now over Christmas and have absolutely loved it.

The cottage is in a lovely quiet location with beautiful views all around. The owner, Mr.Jones is incredibly helpful and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. He filled the hot tub up every morning for us and we were never disturbed. What can I say about the cottage itself? Gorgeous and cosy, very clean, nice big comfy bed in a pretty bedroom, good size bathroom and shower cubicle, spacious kitchen with a washing machine, fridge, freezer and dishwasher, lovely private garden with a well looked after hot tub and you can park right outside the front door! Arriving to homemade cakes and milk in the fridge was a lovely little surprise after a 5 hour journey. The cottage is equipped really with everything you could possibly need. The leaflets in the living room are a great idea and helpful for planning a day out. There are so many things to do and see, it is such an ideal location. Just writing about it makes me want to go back again! We really did enjoy our stay and cannot wait to book for a third time, we're hoping to stay in the summer this year. We really can't recommend this cottage enough, all I can say is book a holiday and see for yourselves, you wont be disappointed. Thank you for another lovely peaceful Christmas holiday!

The cottage was beautiful and peaceful for our relaxing new year break.

Everything we needed was within the property. Mr and Mrs Jones were lovely and very welcoming. Lovely homemade cakes went down a treat and the hot tub was fantastic. The wood burner was brilliant. We loved the Christmas decorations they were stunning and made the cottage look even more beautiful. My boyfriend and I have said we definitely will stay again this year. Thank you to Mr and Mrs Jones for such a lovely stay.

What a fantastic little cottage!

This place was just perfect for a quiet, relaxing get away from it all for two. We stayed for four nights and enjoyed every single one! Upon arrival we were greeted by delicious home made scones, baked by Mrs Jones, which were most welcome after our long journey. We made use of the log burner and hot tub every evening, the perfect accompaniment to a bottle of bubbles! During the day time we explored the local town of Welshpool, we enjoyed a festive Christmas market & a meal at the Royal Oak hotel. We also took a trip over to the local National Trust property Powys Castle & then another day we visited the spectacular Lake Vrynwy for a nice long walk. So there is plenty to do if you feel like getting out & about. We felt very welcome during our stay & Mr Jones couldn't do enough for us! He even let us use the fantastic indoor swimming pool at the larger house next door, as it was vacant during our stay. We would absolutely love to come back next year & even bring friends to try out the larger house too!

Perhaps it would help others if you published that there aren't many amenities too close by so they can come prepared. or list the closest pubs and shops? Unless you have already done so and I missed it. Beautiful location, quiet and very relaxing.

A small remote cottage with small garden and lovely hot tub.

Very comfortable and looked after by a very nice owner/farmer who looked after everything. Great area for walking and touring.

The owners are extremely friendly and helpful. The cottage has everything you could need for a relaxing getaway, especially the hot tub. The views and the countryside around are breath taking. Will definately be returning.

Upon arrival Arwel introduced himself to us and was very helpful in explaining how everything worked.

Nothing was to much trouble and we felt at ease immediately. The cottage is in a lovely location and as stated in the advert, a good location for touring Wales. I wouldn't hesitate to book this cottage again in the future.
