Description

Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant 2 miles. Rhydygaled, a wonderful, detached cottage is tucked away in a secluded location near the village of Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant, boasting three acres of grounds and garden, plus four acres of paddocks.

Offering a home-away-from-home where families can enjoy spending quality time together, this retreat is the perfect base to return to each day.

Relax in the homely lounge in front of the inglenook fireplace, which houses a log burner to warm those cooler evenings. Exposed beams add a charming feel to the property, and the sense of character continues over to the beautiful dining room.

The back entrance hallway is most inviting, with its feature window welcoming natural light inside. This leads conveniently to a contemporary ground floor shower room/toilet and access to a large boot/cloakroom, ideal when returning from walks. A contemporary kitchen and a utility area complete the arrangement.

The downstairs also benefits from a ground floor king-size bedroom with wood burner and easy access to shower room and toilet. Take the stairs up to the diverse mix of rooms, where you will be spoilt for choice come nighttime; one bedroom with king-size bed and en-suite, one bedroom which can be changed from super-king-size to two single beds, and one double bedroom with built-in wardrobe.

Lastly, the family bathroom extends the attention to detail with its freestanding bath and stunning furnishings.

Private garden to rear, overlooking the Berwyn hills and idyllic private garden to the front of the cottage where you will find the heated swimming pool (private from the owner's viewing from last Bank Holiday in May to the second week of September) with ample patio furniture for your pleasure and even a summer house full of outdoor games for your use whilst enjoying the surroundings. There is also a decked area for that early evening barbecue.

To the right take a walk through the meadow and woodland which thrives with wildlife where you will come across the ponds (which are unfenced).

Llanrhaeadr Ym Mochnant is surrounded by lovely countryside, providing walking trails for all abilities including Berwyn Ridge Walk and a trail to the summit of the waterfall.

Discover lovely Lakes, Vyrnwy and Bala, Powys Castle and Gardens, medieval Shrewsbury, and Chester, not forgetting the wonderful Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park. All of this awaits at Rhydygaled.

This is a really beautiful cottage in a stunning location.

I don’t think I’ve seen more beautiful countryside. We have stayed at cottages all over Wales and i think this is in the most beautiful area. The cottage is located up. a short lane from the nearest road and this adds to the tranquility. It really is extremely peaceful. We enjoyed watching the birds from the kitchen window and having coffee at the front of the property which is real sun trap on good days. The owners are really accommodating and respond quickly if you need them. They live in the nextdoor property, they are really lovely, friendly and helpful. The cottage is very well equipped, lovely to have so Much kitchen equipment if you enjoy cooking, we really enjoyed the garden and pool. The nearby town is easy to get too and there are some beautiful sites to visit nearby. Thank you for letting us use your beautiful cottage Erica and Phil.

We stayed here at the end of August, a family of 8, as soon as we pulled up our hearts sank, the garden was unkept and we knew we were in for nothing good, The house had allegedly had a leak from a bathroom which we were told nothing about before our stay, kitchen utensils were dirty and we found mould in a kitchen bowl, also we found dog/cat poo around the pool which is not a private setting, the owners look directly into this with CCTV also in operation which is claimed are capped off when guests stay, NOT TRUE, the furniture and bedding had a feeling of dampness, not even any batteries in the remotes, we had to buy them, fire extinguishers are 26yrs old and are more than a risk than a help in case of fire also there is no distinguishing fire plan, Then there were the rats, 3 to 4 of them running around the rear garden so that was out of bounds.

Kitchen pans/bin were filthy, we stayed for 6 days as the children had looked forward to this holiday for over a year and we did not what to disappoint them,

Lovely peaceful location but the pool is overlooked by the owner’s home which felt a bit awkward when they had visitors.

The beds were comfy but found lots of dead spiders and cobwebs which had been there a while. The shower heads badly need descaling and the en-suite shower leaked into the downstairs bedroom. The kitchen is very well equipped but very narrow. The gardens around the cittage are very overgrown although the lawned area and paddock were well kept. The lanes up to the cottage had lots of deep potholes Overall we had a good holiday, really enjoyed watching the birds, especially the woodpeckers, the horses and sheep but particularly loved interacting with the farm cat. We all loved the pool but felt it should have been a little warmer as classed as heated. It did not stop the fun though. Phil and Erica are both lovely and helpful.
