The Granary

Thank you Eileen for al lovely holiday it was so relaxing Steph and Joe x

A wonderful cottage in the most peaceful of locations.

The Granary is incredibly well equipped and has everything you need and more. The views are incredible and everything is so well maintained. The owner is very accommodating and helps make for an even better holiday. Plenty to do around and about with some travelling and walks right from the cottage. Highly recommend The Granary.

This cottage is probably the best we have ever used!

The owner is the most friendly and helpful lady you could wish for. The cottage is set in beautiful surroundings and is equipped to the highest standard and is exceptionally clean. We were here for a week and really was sad to leave. It is a small cottage but with plenty of room and ample parking. The outside area was lovely to chill in when we got home from our many outings. Will definitely use this property again!!

The Granary is a really nice cottage, compact, but by no means cramped.

There was a generous welcome pack, home made cake etc.. The cottage was very thoughtfully and completely equipped, unlike some cottages we have stayed in. Eileen Jones is a thoroughly delightful and lively host, both on arrival and wishing us a safe journey home. We noticed in the visitors’ comment book a high number of returning visitors and we were not surprised.

The Granary is a delightful cottage in a beautiful location.

The sign on the wall saying Rest and Relax is exactly what you do. It’s without doubt the most peaceful place we have stayed in. Most of the time there was absolute silence save the birds tweeting. Sitting outside watching the sheep and birds or admiring the birds was just what was needed. Eileen is a fabulous host. The cottage was equipped with everything we needed and much more and it is a lovely size for 2. Should you need anything then Eileen is more than obliging. We really did have a wonderful stay.

A lovely elevated position with extensive views of the local countryside.

A lovely place to stay and unwind.

I had a wonderful stay at the very stylish Granary.

The setting is beautiful and very peaceful. Great host and great shower. Can't wait to come back.

5* accommodation and host

The Granary is a comfortable and spotlessly clean accommodation in beautiful surroundings.

Eileen the owner is an incredible lady who goes out of her way to make sure everything is just perfect. Always available if you need anything and super friendly, making you immediately feel relaxed and at home. The cottage and surrounding area a wonderful place to explore and enjoy a beautiful part of mid Wales .We had a wonderful break and would happily return . Thank you the perfect holiday retreat .

Mrs Jones, the owner could not have been more friendly or helpful.

She left various items of food (milk, cake, biscuits, tea, coffee sugar etc etc) for us. The place was immaculate and just what I needed.

The cottage was spotless and faultless so much provided for and more.

A lovely welcome with homemade bara brith cake, milk, tea, coffee and sugar, fresh eggs. I could go on listing as there was so many things provided. Eileen is a lovely lady and nothing is too much trouble even offering to do our washing. She is a very special person, kind, caring, friendly. This is an absolute hidden gem.

The cottage was spotlessly clean and very comfortable.

The host was a very friendly lady who gave us a warm welcome. Nothing was too much trouble for her. We would love to return.

We just spent 5 magical nights over Christmas at The Granary in Wales, and it was everything we hoped for and more.

From the moment we arrived, we felt instantly at home. Eileen is a lovely host and went above and beyond with a lovely welcome package, including a bottle of prosecco and essential items like milk and eggs. This thoughtful touch was so appreciated, especially during the busy holiday season! The cottage itself is charming, clean, and perfectly equipped for a relaxing break. We loved the peaceful location and warm hospitality. Thank you for making our Christmas so special!

Lovely cottage in a beautiful location - peaceful and relaxing.

Property was very clean and well equipped, a home from home. Owner is a lovely person and made us feel very welcome, thank you for the eggs and homemade cake! We very much enjoyed our short stay and hopefully will return in the New Year.

Stayed here twice and once next door.

The properties are super clean and comfortable. Everything you need on hand. And good internet considering it's rural location. Eileen is a star.

Simply lovely what a place this lady can't do enough for you the views are beautiful can't wait to go back everything you need everything is there very clean Thankyou looking to go back soon

Perfect in every way

The host Eileen is a complete gem.

Nothing is too much trouble. The cottage was immaculately clean (the cleanest cottage we have ever stayed in) and very well equipped. She even supplied items such as a slow cooker and an egg poacher! We will most certainly be returning in the near future.

Eileen made us very welcome as soon as we arrived at our beautiful accommodation.

Everything you could possibly need is offered, at top quality. Stunning scenery and so peaceful with only the sound of sheep in fields around the Granary. A wonderful, relaxing week, couldn’t have found better. Excellent in every way. 10/10 Gold star.

Eileen is the perfect host and the accommodation is second to none

Fantastic cottage and a wonderful host!

We will be back!

Eileen was a very welcoming and sociable host.

Nothing was too much trouble. The property had everything you could possibly need. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wholeheartedly recommend it. Looking forward to returning in the future.

The Granary was amazing!

Was so lovely and peaceful. It is everything you could want in a holiday cottage. It came with everything you would need for a self catering holiday. Eileen the host was just so attentive and friendly. Highly recommend this property and the owner. We will be back next year without a doubt!

A top notch cottage run by a top notch Lady.

Eileen goes above and beyond in what she has in the accommodation, and what she is willing to do for you.

Beautiful place to relax in or use as a base to explore. Even willing to share her Bara Brith recipe with the wife.

lovely barn conversion in very quiet spot.

warm welcome from owner who lives opposite. great few days away.

Wet well kept property with a lovely owner.

Impeccably clean and tidy.

Everything required for our stay to feel like 'home'. Greatly appreciated gift pack upon arrival for our festive break. Incredibly peaceful surroundings helped for a good night's rest. Local town not too distant with friendly people. Would definitely recommend and would definitely return if wanting to stay in the area again.

We had a very enjoyable week staying in the Granary.

The only complaint we could make is rained too much but the best property cannot control this. Eileen the owner went out of her way to try & ensure we had a happy time. There is a picture hanging on the wall in the living area that shows what the building looked like originally. The conversion to the present state has been carried out to the highest standard. It now offers all the necessary amenities, comfort & atmosphere to provide everything you could want.

This is one of the best cottage’s we have been to and we have been to a lot.

On arrival we were greeted by a lovely lady called Eileen who owns the cottage, she is so very nice. The cottage was lovely and clean throughout and all the furniture was so comfy, the bed was also very comfortable. The cottage was well equipped and a lovely welcome pack was left for us. We will definitely be booking this cottage again

This was a beautiful property and Eileen, the owner, made us feel so welcome.

Everything we needed was there including cake, eggs and milk! It was well situated with plenty of places to visit in the area.

The cottage was all we could have wished for when making our booking.

The cottage setting was perfect and very quiet and peaceful and within easy reach of Powis Castle the main reason for our visit. On top of this our host Eileen was wonderful and couldn't have been more helpful. Val and Andy.

A lovely, comfortable and very well equipped cottage in a very peaceful location surrounded by farmland and lovely scenery.

Reading the visitors book it is clear that many people have returned time and time again. It was easy to see why, the cottage is lovely and the owner could not have been more welcoming.

A spotless and well equipped property in a very quiet rural location but only a few miles from local facilities.

Eileen is a wonderful host - on hand if needed but otherwise unobtrusive. Provided with a lovely welcome pack of essentials plus a yummy home baked bara brith. Althogether an excellent place to stay for a restful week.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Granary!

Beautiful countryside, quiet, cosy and well presented, we had a lovely holiday and would definitely visit again. Eileen was a wonderful host and went above and beyond to help us, plus the homemade bara brith was delicious. Highly recommend!

The host Eileen met us on our arrival and is very welcoming and friendly.

The property is part of three properties formed from an old barn. It is superb condition and has everything you need for a relaxing stay. It is up a short track, off the access road at the top of a hill with beautiful views all around especially over to the west. There is plenty of parking with garden seating areas at the front to watch the sun set, or BBQ at the rear. It is such a lovely peaceful place to stay. We stayed a week and enjoyed exploring the hills and mountains in the area. We would love to return some time in the not too distant future.

The Granary is a beautiful cottage.

It is very well equipped with everything you need and more. It is located in a most scenic area of Mid Wales. The owner, Eileen, makes you feel at ease from the start and provides a very good welcoming pack, including a scrumptous home baked cake, which was much appreciated and enjoyed. I enjoyed a most restful and peaceful stay.

Eileen you have created the best cottage holiday yet.

The cottage and its environs absolutely stunning. It’s not just what you provide but how you provide it nothing is skimped - heating under our control - plenty of hot water . You could run a course for other owners on HOW TO DO IT. ps give our love to Nala Hopefully you’ll have us back in the near future

Beautiful cottage, very well equipped with all the essentials and more.

This cottage was spotlessly clean and very comfortable, with gorgeous views.

The host is kind and helpful.

What a beautiful cottage in a beautiful location with a host to match, we had a fantastic week stay in the “granary” and will be back, it’s so enjoyable to sit outside and only hear birds and sheep who provided hours of entertainment.

Over the years we have stayed in many holiday cottages and the granary is up there with the best.

Mine host Eileen is a wonderful baker.

A wonderful warm welcome from Eileen with a homemade cake, fresh eggs and milk in the fridge.

A beautiful cottage, so quiet and peaceful set in stunning scenery. Can't wait to go back.

Beautiful cottage with everything you could possibly need plus lots of thoughtful touches.

Lovely location and wonderful, caring and welcoming host in Eileen, even the weather was good.We will certainly return. Thank you Eileen for a very special holiday.

Cozy modern little barn conversion on a hill ideal for a winter time break, with a super view and helpful friendly owners across in the farm.

It was beautiful.

Eileen left us a lovely welcoming pack including a home made bara brith. The views were outstanding. I would recommend this property. We are also hoping to go again.

Eileen Jones could not be faulted on anything.

The Welcome, which lasted all week was exemplary. Views, sunsets ensured a real relaxed break. Our first visit, not our last. Thankyou Eileen so much. Jan n Gary.

Fabulous warm welcome from the host.

Lots of information in the cottage about places to visit. Stunning setting and fabulous clean comfortable cottage. Will definitely return.

Probably the best holiday cottage we have ever had, everything provided and the warmest welcome from Eileen, thank you for a lovely holiday.

We were greeted by the owner with a welcome pack.

. Bara brith especially welcome after a long journey. The experience was like home from home! Lovely and comfortable.

Had stayed at the Granary before pre lockdown and was really looking forward to visiting again.

We were not disappointed, Everything was as brilliant as it was first time.

Super property and lovely host.

lack of dishwasher was our only minor issue.

The Granary is a beautiful cottage in a wonderful setting, it is extremely well equipped and spotlessly clean and you can be sure of a wonderfully warm welcome from your host Mrs Eileen Jones in fact if ever there was an award for the best host I’m sure she would walk away with it!

Thank you Sykes for advertising this property and thank you Eileen for making our stay such a pleasure.

Lovely cottage in beautiful, peaceful surroundings.

It was comfortable, everything we could possibly have needed was provided. The welcome pack was generous, and the owner was delightful, extremely welcoming and helpful.

A superbly warm and friendly welcome with a much better than average welcome gift.

Including a home made Bara Brith which was delicious. Although the living area was on the small side it was comfortable and lacked for nothing. The whole Cottage was warm and welcoming and very well equipped. The views on all sides were magnificent. The Cottage was easy to find and has a very generous parking area.

The Granary was just perfect.

Everything we needed, and it was comfortable, warm, and very quiet. The scenery in the area is fabulous. Our host was friendly and helpful. Thank you!

A lovely cottage with the perfect welcome from the cottage owner.

Very impressed and would definitely recommend to others.

Beautiful scenery quietness breathtaking.

Accommodation perfect, clean, immaculate.

The owner was very welcoming and went over and above the usual service levels expected on a self catering holiday but without being intrusive, The cottage was superbly appointed with a high standard of workmanship and cleanliness.

the views were stunning and the patio areas were a veritable sun trap, a great base for exploring Mid Wales, probably the best stay we have experienced from many Sykes and other self catering holidays.

The Granary was perfect in every way although a king size bed would have been nice :-) Eileen is the perfect host and made us feel welcome and couldn't do enough to make our stay enjoyable.

Property was exceptionally clean and had everything you needed with beautiful views to enjoy. Location is perfect for exploring this beautiful area. Would highly recommend.

The Granary and indeed the hospitality of the owner were second to none.

The little personal touches were very much appreciated! The accommodation was warm, comfortable and had everything you could possibly need to enhance your stay wether having a quiet few days or using as a base from which to travel. We will hopefully be booking again soon!!

You could not hope for a more beautiful setting!

Far enough away from civilisation to be peaceful yet close enough to be practical. The cottage itself is stunning and your host during your stay, Mrs Jones, is fantastic and genuinely lovely. We have fallen in love with this place ❤.

We had a lovely, restful week at your cottage, just what we needed.

The snow on the Saturday made it magical. The cottage is beautiful with everything you could ever need provided. Very warm welcome from owner we hope to come back soon. Many thanks for a lovely week.

Lovely cottage with a warm welcome.

Highly recommended.

Wonderful cottage with beautiful views.

Everything that you could need was provided plus other little touches such as home made bara brith, milk and eggs waiting for us when we arrived. Outdoor furniture provided both at the front and rear of the cottage to enable you to sit with your drink and enjoy the peaceful location whilst watching the Red Kites flying over the nearby fields. The host, Mrs Jones, makes the holiday experience at this cottage complete, she is friendly, helpful and nothing is too much trouble.

The Granary was perfection, everything was better than the pictures promised.

The view from the cottage was idyllic and Mrs Jones was the perfect host and did everything to make our stay even more enjoyable. The memory of this weeks holiday will stay with us for a long time.

A very clean well appointed cottage that met all our needs.

Mrs Jones the owner provides many extras .....tea coffee cake and eggs from her hens. The location was peaceful and surrounded by farm land and lovely views. Lots to do and gardens to visit in the area or just soak up the sun in the garden if the weather is good. Getting there...from 458 Welshpool Road turn onto 495 Meiford road. ..Take the first turn left after Dolgeath Hall Caravan Park not sign posted and easy to miss and you will see the cottages sign on your right just up the lane.

The cottage is an absolutely amazing find that we stumbled upon whilst looking to come away.

Your family are so friendly and welcoming I just cant get over it. There were many little touches I was just not expecting like eggs and milk that just set you aside from other options. The cottage itself is homely and everything is beautiful a real home from home. Everything you need and more is there The scenery oh my goodness the veows are incredible we were lucky and had some very good weather which made exploring a great time. I cant beleive what good prices it was to stay with you we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to return soon. Rebecca Ashitey and Daniel Martin

outstanding accommodation with everything you could possibly need and much more.

with a exceptional proprietor and views and a short drive to all amenities. This is a excellent location

Eileen was very friendly and welcoming, and ensured that the cottage was comfortable and very clean for our arrival, with lots of little details such as milk, eggs, biscuits, tea, coffee and sugar in the kitchen, and robes to snuggle up in, in the bedroom.

There were lots of other thoughtful touches, such as a velour blanket in the lounge, which was great; I arrived at The Granary full of a cold and the first thing I wanted to do was relax on the reclining sofa and wrap myself up in the blanket! Thankfully the next day I felt a bit better and we started exploring some of the beautiful Mid Wales countryside, hills and coast. Even the weather was perfect for our 3 day break; having climbed Cadair Idris, visited Dolgellau, and been fascinated by the Centre for Alternative Technology, we strolled along Aberdovey beach and watched the fabulous sunset, wishing we could stay a bit longer. The views across the valley from the cottages are just lovely, and we were delighted to see red kites take off from one of the nearby fields, and hear owls hooting in the distance at night. Having had a lovely meal at the Goat Hotel (I recommend booking in advance!) in nearby Llanfair we ended a memorable evening standing in the back garden of The Granary watching a shooting star in a beautiful starry sky (very little light pollution!). We would definitely recommend staying at either the Granary, or Eileen's adjacent cottage The Stables, which is a little larger, and I am sure it would be just as perfect. We will definitely return!

The owner was extremely friendly and helpful.

She was very attentive and nothing was too much trouble.

This is a hidden gem of a holiday cottage !

! Far from any noise or traffic, it was a perfect place for our last minute getaway and perfect for couples who want a romantic break. The cottage was spotlessly clean and contained everything you would want, plus more. The owner is a lovely, friendly lady, for whom nothing is too much trouble and having milk, tea bags, welsh cakes etc. waiting for us on arrival was most welcoming. If you like piece & quiet and want to get away from it all - this is the perfect place, and we will definitely be returning.

Beautiful cottage that had everything we needed.

Very clean and comfortable. Host Eileen was very pleasant and helpful

Lovely cottage in a beautiful location.

Peaceful and quiet. Eileen, the owner, gave us a lovely welcome and we felt it was home from home!

The cottage was a gem, first class accommodation.

Couldn't fault anything. Eileen was a lovely lady the welcome pack was a lovely touch.

It is so easy to see why there are so many return visitors to this property.

You know you are going to need for nothing for a relaxing break.Eileen goes out of her way to make sure you have all the comforts to enjoy your stay.

Accommodation was lovely and we had a warm welcome from the owner.

Welcome pack was provided that included home baked Welsh cakes which were delicious. Views from the cottage across open countryside.

The cottage was warm, welcoming and exactly as the brochure depicted.

The length our host went to make sure our stay was memorable was exceptional. The preparation for the visitor and the attention to detail i.e.. milk, barabrith cake, bathrobes neatly laid out, the cleanliness of the property and the quality of the workmanship of the renovation, her warmth and desire to please all laid the foundation for a truly remarkable holiday. I am sure we will visit again

We booked last minute and were thrilled with our choice and we couldn't have wished for a more friendly or considerate host; Mrs Jones works extremely hard to provide her guests with everything they need - and there was a thoughtful welcome pack of goodies waiting for us when we arrived.

Sited high up on open farmland, the Granary had stunning views and had been beautifully converted. A perfect size for a couple, the cottage was spotlessly clean and well equipped; very comfortable bed and thoughtful extras such as bath robes - and a gas barbecue on the patio. Well-situated for exploring Mid Wales and the border area - we would heartily recommend.

We had many sykescottage this one was the best ,and the owner was very helpful.

.

The owner Eileen was so very friendly and welcoming.

There was a welcome home made cake and additional touches of all the basics needed such as Tea, coffee, condiments and a variety of other useful kitchen items. The fluffy white towelling dressing gowns were an added bonus to snuggle into at the end of a busy day sightseeing. Wonderful facilities and a lovely place to stay.

The Granary is an absolutely delightful place to stay, tastefully furnished, nicely equipped and very comfortable.

The views are stunning. The location is very convenient for touring through that area of Wales. Our host Eileen is a lovely lady who made us feel most welcome, just like we were visiting with friends. Her welcome pack complete with her home baked Bara Brith made our arrival just that little bit more special.
