The Farmhouse

The Farmhouse is extremely well thought through, from the house design to it's presentation.

If you are seeking a peaceful holiday in a wonderful location then this should fit the bill very nicely. Sited on the banks of the river in a wooded valley it was perfect for us - and the hot tub was a bonus. Fabulous.

Wonderfull accomodation; clean, bright, spacious and well appointed.

The location was also great; quiet, private and a delightful position next to the river.

The Farmhouse itself was spacious, comfortable and well equipped. The view of the river from the garden was an added bonus. We all enjoyed the large hot tub. In addition the host was incredibly helpful finding me a hairdresser as I attended my son's wedding nearby in Aberystwyth and kept in contact with me before and during my stay providing helpful information. I highly recommend the Farmhouse.

Lovely place for a quiet, relaxing, rural vacation.

Everything about ‘The Farmhouse’ was great for us as a family to spend quality time together and to meet up with friends who live in the local area. Would definitely return. Just beautiful!

We really enjoyed our stay and it was one of the nicest places we have stayed.

We really appreciated how well equipped it was. A couple of minor things were that the tumble dryer smelt very musty, we washed out the reservoir which improved this. The sofas and the double mattress weren't especially comfortable, perhaps they're nearing the end of their life. But generally it was great

The Farmhouse is fabulous, finished to a high quality and accommodation is excellent.

Provides all the facilities you need. The owners are very friendly. Positioned in a quiet area within easy reach to amenities and places to visit. The Rheidol Steam Railway & Devils Bridge are a must to visit with spectacular views. We had a fabulous week and all enjoyed the hot tub. The website does show there is a pub 1 mile away, but this has now closed down.

To find a more tranquil and beautiful spot would be hard to do.

The warm welcome to the Farmhouse and its excellent facilities was much appreciated. Very clean & tidy. Really worth a visit.

I stayed here over the May Bank Holiday weekend with two friends and it was wonderful!

The location is stunning with gorgeous views and so tranquil and quiet all you can hear is the nature around you! The layout of the house was perfect and it was super clean and tidy, all above our expectations! I would definitely consider visiting again and would love to come back with my family but we would need to be able to bring our dog and I don't think pets are allowed which is such a shame. I would highly recommend this house!

Another glorious stay.

We love the setting and the open-plan living. The shower is one of the best we’ve ever had in a rental and the hot tub is always a hit.

Lovely cottage and friendly owners.

The view is wonderful! The cottage is well finished and has a lovely feel/ Highlights are the kitchen, hot tub and space inside. Things to be aware of - the Wi-Fi does not connect tv apps or devices. The sofas are very low so getting up and down is a challenge, a cupboard or drawer for groceries would be useful and towels for the hot tub would help with some outside hooks.

Local to amenities and some lovely pubs. Owners were lovely and very friendly. Would definitely recommend to others!

Great stay and really nice cottage only 10 mins from the town centre.

Only issue was finding the cottage. On the map on sykescottages app, the location icon is completely off and had us lost for an hour trying to find the cottage. To make matters worse there is barely any service to look online or call anyone so a bit of a mess there. Other than the map needing updating with more accuracy the stay was 10/10

The house was lovely, had everything your needed and more would definitely recommend and we will certainly will go back

Everything you need for an amazing stay. Just a couple of comments, sharp knives in stand not sharp, not a big issue but may not have been aware. And a set of extra towels for hot tub would be nice. But that's all. Will ne back Thank you

We were enthusiastically welcomed by Elaine and Owen and all questions asked were answered quickly.

We were made to feel ‘at home’ which added to our happy and relaxed holiday at The Farmhouse. The property was roomy, immaculate and the equipment provided left nothing wanting. The Farmhouse sits in a beautiful area and there is no shortage of places to visit and things to do to keep visitors busy for a fortnight or longer.

Absolutely fabulous clean cottage with a very nice host in a lovely country.

The next bigger town (Aberystwyth) takes just over 10 minutes. The Hot-Tub was our highlight. Highly recommended.

Just the most relaxing accommodation you could wish for, superbly situated next to the river Rheidol with an amazing hot tub from which to appreciate the tranquility, Aberystwyth is a 10 minute drive away, and the amazing New Quay a 45 minute journey, local country walks are an option as situated in a lovely rural spot, overall we couldn't fault the whole experience of our break and will definitely be returning

Very clean, perfectly situated and great hosts. We've stayed in a few cottages in Wales and this is definitely one id recommend to anyone whether your adults alone or a family. The kids loved every minute and adults had time to relax and unwind. The views are absolutely amazing such a great location definitely due a return.

The property was absolutely stunning and completely exceeded our expectations.

The location is easy to get to and beautiful. The owners of the property as lovely and very helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wished we had booked for a longer period. We will definitely be back for sure! The only small feedback we would give was we were surprised the remaining 2 rooms both had 2 single beds. Which was absolutely fine for it being just the 2 of us, but if we were to bring other family members, one of the other rooms having a double bed would have been much more appealing.

Gorgeous location and very welcoming hosts.

This property is absolutely wonderful, everything you need is provided for. There is a river pool a few hundred meters from the end of the garden, where we swam daily, it is idyllic. Comfy beds, great showers and the hot tub was amazing. We visited local eateries recommended by the owners which did not disappoint. Aberystwyth was close by and we canoed on the sea and down the river. There is lots to do locally and the property is really outstanding. We will definitely return and continue our adventures.

Fabulous house with countryside all around. So relaxing and peaceful. Hot tub is amazing. Everything in the house, furniture, bedding, bathrooms etc first class. Lovely having a chat with the hosts again. So friendly and extremely helpful. It was much needed week of relaxation for us. Perfect!

What a fantastic place to switch off and unwind!

Inside, the house is modern, clean and comfortable. Outside is beautiful, green and peaceful. The hot tub was great after long walks, of which there are plenty nearby. The beds are incredibly comfortable, it felt like sleeping on a cloud. The showers are nice and powerful. The kitchen was very well equipped. Our son loved the river which is accessible via some steps a short stroll from the house. He spent hours paddling, skimming stones and searching for insects. The owners were friendly and helpful and not at all intrusive. The place feels so rural and yet you are only a very short drive away from Aberystwyth where there are some good restaurants, supermarket etc. This was undoubtedly one of the best properties we have stayed at and we certainly hope to be back!

The property was beautifully decorated and had everything that we needed. Elaine and her husband were on hand to help, not that we needed them. The hot tub set up with the pagoda and lights was great with relaxing views. Would highly recommend!

Beautiful property, wonderful owners, stunning location.

Very well equipped, comfortable furnishings, spacious and spotlessly clean. The hottub was divine, with amazing views of the valley and the Red Kites flying by. The River is crystal clear and has a pool nearby you can swim in. Lovely walks and lots to do with the family close by.

The farm house is lovely very warm with the underfloor heating.

We had a much needed fantastic and restful time over Christmas.

The house was clean, well equipped and cosy. The area is simply beautiful and the hot tub a huge bonus even when cold outside. The only improver would be on the WiFi but otherwise - it was perfect for us!

This property is just fabulous.

We have stayed in many holidays let’s before but this beats them hands down. It’s not just its fabulous picturesque location, yet still with amenities on the door step. It’s also its cleanliness, the attention to detail, no expense has been spared on making this place amazing!

My wife and I along with 2 friends spent 3 nights in this property and we couldn’t have asked for more.

The property itself was beautiful and clean with everything we could have asked for. We mentioned to the owners we had recently got married and they went out of their way to buy us champagne which we thought was a wonderful touch. This is a beautifully built and warm house, with great specifications,in an excellent location, The river views from the house are spectacular and ever changing with the amount of rainfall.

The area is one of outstanding beauty with lots of places to visit, all within a short distance. Watching the red kites feeding just down the road at Nant yr Arian was amazing. The house itself is very well equipped, and we coped easily with the diminished supply of crockery etc due to Covid 19. The hosts could not be more helpful, not intrusive but available if needed. I look forward to another holiday in this beautiful house.

Where to start, a beautiful setting for a truly wonderful cottage.

It was fab, everything you could wish for and more, the hot tub was excellent, perfect setting looking out onto the river. Nothing but complete praise for the lovely owners who made us feel extremely welcome and have created a lovely place to completely chill and relax. Had a couple of meals at the Halfway Inn, beautiful homemade food well worth the 'uphill' journey. Thank you again to Mr and Mrs E for being lovely hosts, we will be back

The property was nice and clean, several things had been removed inline with Covid guidelines including the loose sofa cushions which made it quite uncomfortable.

Also no hair dryer. We were a little disappointed at how difficult it was to access the beautiful river in front of the property. I was also a little surprised that the neighboring property was occupied by the owner with noisy dogs and and early morning noisy activity and not the additional holiday let as we had understood. We had to delay the start of our holiday due to track and trace and were advised by Sykes that we would receive a partial refunded or full if we chose to cancel. Very disappointed that neither the property owner, Sykes or Sykes holiday insurance were able to sort this even after their advice to the contrary.

This is a fabulous place to holiday, lots of pleasant walks from the doorstep, fabulous facilities in the house, superb COVID protection and processes, a wonderful relaxing break.

The owners next door were extremely accommodating, the farmhouse was beautiful inside and out with everything that you could possibly need, spacious and clean, kitchen was fully equipped as was the rest of the house, peaceful and scenic and the hot tub and the garden are a massive thumbs up, not too far from the town.

The house is really lovely with three generous sized bedrooms and two great bathrooms.

The hot tub is AMAZING with an incredible view. The roof over the top means it's great in all weathers. We loved our stay. Understandably due to covid restrictions, a lot of extras had to come out of the property - games, books etc - so take your own. Thank you to Elaine and family for a really great stay. The beds were super comfy,especially after full days of being out and about. The hot tub was a very welcome extra,and we all made full use of it. Peaceful location which is not too far from all amenities. Furnished to a high standard and spotlessly clean. The owner very welcoming. This is our second visit we love the area and the house. Cardigan Bay Area is naturally beautiful unspoiled location, there is everything you need lovely shops and places to eat, beautiful scenery and beaches and it hasn’t lost its quaintness, it’s like going back in time. We will be back.

Sitting in the hut tub listening to the river was a wonderful treat and one we won’t forget. The cottage had everything we needed and even during these strange COVID times we had a wonderful break. Lovely owners who were friendly and happy to give recommendations for local places.

The Farmhouse is a truly beautiful property.

.....built only 3 years ago and has a lovely feel both inside and out. Superb position in the Rheidol valley.....lovely views all around and the river running by at the bottom of the garden!! Internally the house is beautifully appointed and has everything you could wish for.....including a lovely large social living space which is great for a family or friends break. Hot tub with covered pergola and disco lights!! 5 mins drive into Aberystwyth to get provisions. 10 mins to the coast. 10 mins to the mountains. What's not to like?! And to top it all you will have the most caring and attentive hosts Elaine and Owen - you can feel their care and attention which has been put into this 'home away from home'. Highly recommended. ! The house it's self was fab a home from home really! Had everything you could want or need!! The hot tub was an added bonus and it was so lovely hearing the river go by whilst relaxing in the hot tub!! The views were beautiful and you had that from nearly every window you looked out!! I would recommend going to anybody who would love a relaxing holiday with plenty of views!!

Fantastic accommodation surrounded by beautiful scenery next to the river Rheidol and the icing on the cake was to be able to sit in the hot tub on a clear sky night and and look at the millions of stars in the night sky as there is no light pollution what so ever.

This property is one of the nicest holiday accommodations I have stayed in.

It’s in idilic spot, has everything you need, clean and comfortable and of high standard. The hot tub has a fantastic view of the river and pretty countryside. This area of wales is in our opinion the best area of wales, lots to do, don’t miss the dolphin boat, we saw the dolphins, the red kite feeding is also a must. Devils bridge if you can manage the 675 steps. The coast road down to Cardigan is a must too stopping off at all the stunning seaside towns new quay and arbeararon was our favourites, but try them all don’t miss Mwnt beach. The whole area is beautiful. If you want a relaxing holiday with lovely accommodation, stunning views and nice places to eat try here you won’t be disappointed.

We've been to many cottages, booked threw sykes and this was by far the best, The owners Elaine and owen were very helpful and friendly and they have finished there cottage to a very high standard for a holiday home.

A close drive away from the coast and local shops. We'll definitely be booking up again.

The property was fabulously finished inside and out. Warm and cozy. We really enjoyed our stay as we watched the river and the little lambs in the field. Hot tub was great for a relax on a night.
