Truly wonderful relaxing stay.

As other reviewers have said, the photos don't do it justice. Amazing views, we had sunny days and misty days which provided a different kind of wonderful view each day. Our dog can't walk far these days, Banty provided directions to the riverside walk which we drove to and there is a walk up the hill behind the cabin. We were immediately blown away by the facilities and decor of the cabin. But when you look more closely, you start to see even more beautiful items that the owners have clearly thought a lot about. Flowers, ornaments, paintings etc. So much has gone into making it look and feel very special. As for the bed, the photo makes it look smaller but it really is enormous and sumptuous. One of the white towels had some yellow marks on them. I was not even questioning their cleanliness, i just wondered if they had gone on some rust in transit etc. I messaged the owner about it and she explained it was clean but the washing machine had done something weird to it. I was more than happy with this answer, i just didn't want the owner to think i had marked the towel myself! She sent a new one to me anyway. So very responsive if you have a query. We absolutely cannot wait to visit this place again next year. Have recommended to all my friends.

The hosts were helpful, friendly and easy to communicate with. The lodge was perfect and the location ideal for walking, peace and relaxation. Everything about our holiday worked for us and we’ve returned home ready to continue our extremely busy lives. Thank you.

The welcome hamper was perfect, the views were magnificent, and the hot tub was huge, as was the bed! Soaking in the regal-looking bath before bed had me feeling like a Victorian aristocrat. All I was missing was someone feeding me grapes! You could tell the hosts had put so much thought and care into every detail of the property, which made the stay feel extra special. It was a much-needed break from the city, and waking up to those beautiful views every morning left us feeling inspired, refreshed, and rejuvenated. We had such a lovely stay and would happily return.

What a beautiful cabin with the most amazing views.

Home from home with the comfiest bed - it had everything we needed (don’t need the tv with views like that). So peaceful and the welcome hamper was a delight - so thoughtful Sitting in the hot tub with a glass of fizz just gazing out helped us get the r n r we def needed

A glorious place to relax, beautiful setting, wonderful views, peaceful, this cabin has everything you could need to chill.

The garden is totally and safely enclosed for dogs. We had to deal with enforced relaxation because of the heatwave in the first week and one of our dogs being quite a large chap and can’t think of anywhere we could have been that was better. The surrounding area has stunning scenery in every direction, no busy roads or crowded pavements anywhere we visited. The owners are delightful and although we had no problems whatsoever, am sure they would be there to help immediately… can’t recommend this enough.

We had the most wonderful stay at ystrad wen cabin.

From the moment we arrived, it felt like a true home away from home. The welcome pack was such a lovely touch and made us feel instantly settled in. Our dogs were so spoiled with their treats, and the secure yard was absolutely perfect for them to run free and enjoy themselves safely. Even though the weather started off cold and wet, it honestly didn’t matter because the cabin itself was so stunning, cosy, and beautifully presented. Waking up to the gorgeous views every morning was unforgettable and made the whole experience feel so peaceful and relaxing. The hot tub was an added bonus and so relaxing, especially after a day exploring the beautiful surroundings. Sitting in the warm bubbles while taking in the incredible views was definitely a highlight of our stay. Everything about our visit was perfect, and we left already wanting to come back again. Thank you for such a beautiful and memorable getaway!

A truly lovely and peaceful place — the perfect escape from the city.

We spent a long weekend here and couldn’t have asked for a better break. The cottage was spacious, beautifully maintained, and fully equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The quiet surroundings made it incredibly relaxing, and even our dog had an amazing time exploring and enjoying the fresh air. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a quiet and refreshing getaway!

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights.

We have stayed at a few places in Wales and the surrounding areas and I have to say this was up there with the best. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left our stay was sensational. All the facilities are as expected or better. The location is fantastic. It was easy to find although down a very small road. I would recommend this to any couple who love the countryside and peacefulness. Oh ye, and a hot tub. Just one last thing to mention..... On arrival we found freshly baked homemade brownies and some homemade strawberry jam from the owners. That's were scrumptious and very thoughtful. Also there was milk in the fridge and some bread and crisps etc in a small hamper. We will definitely be returning.

This cabin is amazing from the moment you walk through the door to the breathtaking views of the valley you can feel relaxed and comfortable.

The furnishings are to a high standard as is the kitchen equipment. It is so clean could easily enter "four in a bed" without any worries . The owners are on hand if needed and are so friendly and accommodating. will definitely be back next year.

This property has to be seen to be believed.

The location is stunning! Whether it is day or night, this is a beautiful, peaceful setting. The only noises heard are those of the birds and sheep. The night sky is equally as impressive. A must for any star gazer. The property itself is lovely. Clearly much thought has gone into the layout, decor and furnishings. It is comfortable, cosy and offers many home comforts whilst still offering those smaller touches that are often expected from a holiday let. The hot tub is ideally placed to take advantage of the stunning views and the welcome hamper of Welsh produce as well as homemade jam and brownies was an added bonus. The surrounding area is great for walking, cycling, bird watching (Red Kites in particular). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will certainly look to return in the future.

Upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised with the abundant welcome hamper which included extra thoughtful touches such as fresh fruit, homemade brownies and strawberry jam which were delicious. There was even a welcome hamper for our dogs! We were delighted with the location and the high standard of furnishings, the bed was extremely comfortable and everything was spotlessly clean. The cabin is in a stunning and peaceful location looking down the valley, we never got tired of the view. Everything is dog friendly with an enclosed garden and the hot tub an added bonus. Rachel’s correspondence was friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Rachel really has put together beautiful accommodation and has thought of everything that you would need for a comfortable stay. Rachel’s husband Banty was a gentleman and equally as friendly. Whilst the cabins were set in a field of their own, they are far enough away from each other to have privacy and we felt safe and secure at the location. All in all we highly recommend Ystrad Wen for a relaxing getaway, the cabin is the best holiday accommodation that we have stayed in by far! Can’t praise the cabin or Rachel and Banty enough, we will definitely be back again

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful cabin.

It's set in a remote, peaceful location surrounded by lush green scenery - perfect for a relaxing getaway. We especially loved the freestanding bathtub in the bedroom, where you can soak while enjoying the stunning views. The outdoor hot tub was another highlight - relaxing under the stars with such a gorgeous backdrop was unforgettable.The cabin itself is comfortable and tastefully decorated, with thoughtful touches throughout. We especially appreciated the lovely welcome basket for us and our dogs - it made us feel right at home. The whole area is quiet and serene, ideal for unwinding and reconnecting with nature. Highly recommended!

Possibly the best cottage we’ve ever stayed in!

Properly dog friendly with fenced off garden, and whilst there is an adjacent cabin (also fantastic) there is a good amount of space between them. There’s also dog treats and toys. Fantastic views, a tranquil setting, and a hot tub!! The cabin is really well appointed to a very high standard, the Welcome Tray is plentiful and thoughtful with some lovely little touches. Furniture is really comfortable, there’s lots of helpful information available too. It’s tucked away from the owners property but they are readily available should you need any help. They are also extremely helpful and friendly, nothing seems too much trouble. The whole thing has been so well thought out to ensure a perfect get away. Can’t praise it enough and we will definitely be going back.

The cottage is beautifully decorated and was well equipped with everything you needed. The views overlooking the countryside were absolutely incredible - a lot of wildlife spotting to be done! The bed was so comfortable and the hottub was truly the cherry on the cake! Would thoroughly recommend.

Absolutely stunning area, lovely and quiet, no traffic noise or street lights, the views from every room and hot tub were amazing, with the hot tub being covered it was great watching the weather change before you.

Well equipped cabin, lovely gesture giving our dog a ball treats towel, and pooh bags, owners very friendly.

The cabin and surroundings are stunning. A lovely welcome pack which included delicious homemade brownies and jam for us, and treats and a ball for our dog. The little extra things provided were thoughtful and much appreciated. The hosts were very welcoming, helpful and always available if needed. Wonderful views from the cabin and hot tub. Beautiful sunrises, and starry nights - we were very blessed with the weather! Perfect for complete relaxation or to access the many attractions of Mid Wales. Would not hesitate to recommend and we will definitely be returning.

This place is heaven.

Anything you could need is there. The view is on point watching the lambs run around is so entertaining. The welcome pack was a lovely touch as well.

Fantastic place!

Property owners are lovely, the cabin is amazing and the views are to die for! We had a perfect stay here, everything was clean and comfortable. The enclosed garden is great for the dogs plenty of space for a bit of a run about as well as great walks in the surrounding area.

We stayed for my 40th, The cabin was beautiful and the location was fantastic, the welcome pack was top notch with local produce, I meet banty one of the owner, we spoke about many things and had an enjoyable conversation.

i will go back in the future. I wouldn't of wanted to go anywhere else for the big 40. It's was a pleasure. Thank you.

What an impressive and outstanding location!

Peace and quiet washes over you, helping you put aside the everyday cares of life. The hot tub experience and view will take you over the edge into a place of tranquility like no other place we’ve ever been to before. Spotlessly clean, warm, with every need attended to by the friendly and most generous hosts by way of furnishings, comfort and special treats as a welcome pack to get your focus for peace and calm started. Would very highly recommend!

Nice cabin, with everything you need, the extra thought and touches by the owners made all the difference.

In a great rural location with spectacular views down the valley. We stayed over Christmas and the generous, friendly owners had provided festive touches to the cabin and a really nice welcome hamper pack. If your feeling fit take the dog on a lung bursting walk up onto the common. We will recommend to family and friends.

The owners went out of their way to make our stay totally unforgettable.

It was my wife's birthday on the day we arrived and the owners had left a beautiful bouquet of flowers and bottle of wine along with a birthday card for her. We decided to have a stroll down to the 'local pub' (highly recommended) and Banty even offered to give us a lift back later in the day. We highly recommend staying here and we will certainly be back. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

If you're considering booking this cabin, do it!

The cabin is gorgeous and the location is amazing! The real difference with Ystrad Wen is the attention to detail. Rachel hasn't overlooked anything when presenting this beautiful holiday cabin. Welcome basket on arrival for us and the dogs was a lovely touch and much appreciated. Won't go in to too much detail regarding the extra touches as to not spoil the delightful of realising how much careful thought went in to it. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants the perfect relaxing break. I would also suggest to anyone who does book to consider a day out around Elan Valley, stunning views of the dams and then lunch in Rhayader.

Had a lovely stay in the cabin and in the Welsh countryside.

Myself and my other half were impressed with everything. The bed was comfortable. The hot tub was the one of the best we’ve used. Lovely walking area. Would stay here again.

We really enjoyed our time here, it is lovely spot & the cabin is excellent.

The owners really do go the extra mile for a special welcoming feeling property. It is going to be the one by which all others will be judged. Thankyou for having us.

We spent an incredible week at Ystrad Wen and we couldn't been happier with our stay!

The cabin is simply gorgeous: spacious, stylish and full of thoughtful touches. It truly felt like a home away from home. Rachel and Bunty were extremely friendly and helpful and we loved the little welcome hamper they left us. One of the highlights was definitely the hot tub overlooking the stunning Welsh countryside – a perfect spot to relax after a day of walking and exploring. Our dog had the best time too and was really disappointed to go back to London! We can’t recommend this place enough and can’t wait to return!

Ystrad Wen is probably the best holiday property that we have rented and despite the inclement weather we had a very enjoyable stay.

The cabin (a description that understates the level of accommodation) was of the highest standard with everything thoughtfully provided. The location afforded the most fantastic views and the comfort and cleanliness of the property means that we look forward to returning.

Had a wonderful stay at Ystrad Wen.

There was a lovely welcome basket upon arriving, both for us and the dog. The cabin was really nicely kept and very clean throughout. There was also a welcome folder full of information regarding the property and local area, including places to eat and activities near by etc. It was very secluded and private with gorgeous views. Rachel and Banty were easy to get in touch with for anything we needed. We would definitely return! Thank you both for the great stay/getaway!

Beautiful setting, peaceful and secluded. Only the sounds of the sheep and nature. Rachel and Banty are very attentive hosts, willing to provide any assistance and local tips. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and will be booking again!

An exceptional property in a spectacular location, with high specification and quality throughout.

Amazing views from property and hot tub alongside abundance of wildlife ensures that you spend many hours watching, listening and enjoying the tranquility of nature. Look out for the hares, red kites and numerous birds. Fascinating to watch the sheep's routines and can set your clock by them! The owners provide the best welcome pack we have ever seen and tasted! Chocolate brownies were delicious. They make sure your stay is enjoyable and we really appreciated their advice on walks, places to visit and the history of their farm. Made a 60th birthday holiday very special with lasting memories. Dogs really enjoyed the garden and ability to walk around the local area safely.

We had a 4 night stay at Ystrad Wen in June and we absolutely loved it.

The cabin was spotless, and everything we needed was there. Our welcome hamper had some lovely treats (the homemade brownies fab!) and was one of may really nice touches, like the binoculars, the sketch pad and pencils and the fresh flowers. The Cabin is 1 of 2 set in a lovely meadow field which magnificent views, and even with the open views it felt very private. The hot tub was perfect too, fresh crystal clear water when we arrived, you can tell it is changed between guests, which is appreciated. The view from the tub is awesome too. It was great getting a text on the morning we were due to arrive to welcome us and let us know what time the cabin would be ready, and some tips on directions too, so we managed to get there early with no wrong turns. If you are considering Ystrad Wen, I would encourage you to book it! We are hoping to be able to return sometime soon.

Ystrad Wen Review We recently visited Ystrad Wen with my husband and our two dogs, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience.

The dogs loved it, and the beautiful scenery provided amazing views and the soothing sounds of nature. The bath and shower facilities were outstanding—so clean and well-maintained, also the hot tub was a great delight after long walks ,it was impressive. I accidentally left a personal item behind, and the kind staff promptly posted it back to me upon request, which I really appreciated. The area is stunning and secluded, making it a very romantic getaway. We fully enjoyed ourselves and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat. We were even treated to a surprise bottle of wine for my husband’s birthday from the owners ☺️ We will definitely be back and would recommend this cabin to anyone wanting a complete escape from the norm. Thanks for such a memorable time away xx

Absolutely loved our first time in Wales and the main part was how beautiful the cottage was it was everything we wanted and the views were amazing the hot tub was an amazing touch.

The owners made sure we arrived safely and if we needed anything else which was really kind however the way the Cottage was set up nothing else was needed. If I could put more stars I would however they only ask out of 5*. Will definatly planning on coming back to this property!! Definitely suggest the Red kite feeding as was spectacular site to see.

We had the most relaxing long weekend here.

The views are beautiful, we loved everything about the cabin. All the little touches made it even better, the owners had even thought of the dog! Our dog loved staying here and watching the sheep across the hillside. I'd recommend waking up early and watching the sunrise over the hillside in front of the cabin. 5 Stars! Hoping to book in another weekend soon!

WOW, loved it, loved it, loved it!

It exceeded our expectations! Stunning all round views, all you can hear is birds singing and little lambs bouncing about calling their mums , It really is very peaceful and quiet, we loved the accommodation, it was spotless and furnished to a high standard, it is huge for two people, the bed and the bedroom were the biggest we have ever stayed in, and the stand alone bath with the breath taking views was just stunning and so relaxing. The hot tub was just what we needed and big for just two people! And again the views, wow! We really appreciated the treats in the welcome basket. It was so perfect for our romantic getaway, we are so definitely going back! ❤️ Many thanks to the owners Banty, Rachel and family x
