What a lovely cottage!

It had everything we needed and much more. Beautiful throughout and ample space for our family including the dog! The thought put into the decor, facilities and all the little details was excellent. We loved our stay!

Quite simply, the best house we have ever stayed in. You have clearly put great effort into supplying everything for a relaxing stay. Excellently equipped kitchen - including a particularly generous welcome pack. The ice-maker on the freezer was particularly great to get us through the heat wave - as was the Dyson fan. Perfect modern bathrooms. Soap, shower gel and ample toilet roll included - along with fluffy towels. Good strong showers which were simple to use. Multiple areas in which to sit and relax: comfy sofas and chairs and a bench outside. A beautiful garden and space for a short walk in the woods. Information booklet shared in advance of arriving was a great touch and helped us with planning. Friendly, responsive owners.

It is absolutely stunning. Location is lovely and quiet, spotlessly clean, facilities amazing with very special touches. Grounds are well kept and nice little walk round the woods. We would book again without question. Thank you for our lovely stay.

Beautiful cottage.

Spacious, clean, well equipped. Response time and action to sort minor defect was fast and thorough - excellent!

It was a nice place, clean, comfy etc, but on the dear side, stayed at other sykes cottages at a fraction of the price.

Would return to the area but would have to look at other accommodation

A beautiful cottage in an idyllic setting.

The wooded area was most welcome with the heatwave…as were the fans provided by the owners! The cottage was very well equipped, plenty of room for 4 adults and a dog and the sofas and beds were very comfortable.. very important! We wouldn’t hesitate booking again.

This was our first ever Holiday away with Friends and all four of us agreed that we could not have picked a better cottage to stay in.

The Location, property and decor, the available amenities and the extra little touches could not be faulted. It was lovely to meet the owner and his wife who were readily avaliable if at all required, a very nice couple .Exceptional area for walks and a peaceful yet not to far retreat. We would all like to return to the area for a more extended stay and hopefully will do Sooner rather than Later !

An amazing property finished to a high quality in beautiful surroundings.

The dogs loved the woods. Loads of places to explore. Owners onhand if required but didn't need to call on them as everything was perfect. Brilliant hamper and fresh flowers waiting on arrival that was a lovely touch. Would highly recommend this property to anyone wanting a peaceful break away.

We had a fantastic weekend , the house is beautiful and such a relaxing space Your hosting was spot on, the welcome pack was so thoughtful and you made us feel welcome The highlight was the woodland and the wildlife, I definitely wasn’t expecting to see two deer from the window!

Tawny Cottage is an absolutely wonderful place to stay and we couldn’t have asked for a better family holiday in Wales.

From the moment we arrived, it was clear that Mike & Alison have thought about every little detail — everything in the cottage is finished to an exceptional standard and feels both luxurious and incredibly welcoming. It truly felt like a real home away from home. The calm surroundings and peaceful atmosphere made it the perfect escape. We loved spending cosy evenings together by the fireplace and relaxing out in the beautiful garden during the day. The cottage offers so many lovely spaces to gather, unwind and socialise, which worked perfectly for our family holiday with our son and his grandparents. We found ourselves making use of all the different areas throughout our stay, whether for meals, games, chats or simply relaxing together. Mike & Alison were amazing hosts and made us feel so welcome from start to finish. We would highly recommend Tawny Cottage to families looking for a fantastic trip to Wales — it truly is a special place.

Had a brilliant few days away in Tawny Cottage.

Property was absolutely immaculate and we were very appreciative of the hamper and everything else that was left for us. Very spacious downstairs and kitchen, and comfortable bedrooms. Loved the combination of old and new, especially the detail in the main bathroom. A perfect location to explore both Brecon Beacons and Wye Valley. Couldn't recommend enough, and very much hope to stay again!

We had a lovely, relaxing weekend at Tawny cottage.

We are 5 adults and there was lots of space for us to chill and spend quality family time away from the hustle and bustle of work etc. The cottage itself is of a very high standard and was exceptionally clean. The beds were very comfortable and the attention to detail, outstanding. Everything we needed was provided and as other previous guests have mentioned, the generous welcome hamper was fantastic and enjoyed by all. Mike the owner, was really helpful and kind and was on hand if we needed him. We appreciated the hello a little while after we arrived as this allowed us to unpack and have a cuppa first. If you have had a particularly long journey, this is helpful when everyone is thirsty or needs the loo! Mike was so kind he even promptly helped us when we left an item behind. We would highly recommend this cottage and hope to return in the future.

Fabulous cottage in a beautiful away from it all location.

Easy access to Monmouth and Abergavenny. The living accommodation is beautiful, large and cosy at the same time. Everything is of high quality with excellent bathrooms and fluffy towels, and a large fridge and freezer and dishwasher in the superb kitchen. We thoroughly enjoyed our break away and would love to return.

This was a beautiful property, in a lovely part of Wales.

We were only the second party to stay in Tawny and were very impressed with the furnishings, high spec finishes and overall design of this property. We were left the best welcome pack we’ve ever received in a holiday cottage and Michael, the host, was on hand with any queries and any issues iand support. The property was very dog friendly, which is very important to us, and the grounds were impeccable. Raglan was close and the Beaufort Hotel did superb meals, drinks and had wonderful ambience. Usk is a lovely place to visit and Abergavenny, Monmouth, Symonds Yat, Brecon, Ross on Wye and Tintern are all within easy reach. We will definitely be booking again.

What a fantastic find for our last minute holiday!

Gorgeous character cottage in lovely rural location. Tawny cottage has been renovated very thoughtful - while retaining period features - to a very high standard and is really well equipped with all mod cons, spotless clean and decorated with great attention to detail - for us the perfect mix of old and new. Enjoyed cooking in the fantastic kitchen, with everything you could possibly need in it, very easy to relax on the comfy sofas after a day exploring the area and the wood burning stove made it even cosier. Our dog loved the underfloor heating in the brilliant extension. The beds were well dressed and extremely comfortable. The bathrooms are great – loved the complimentary body wash. The WiFi connection is faultless and there is spacious off road parking available. I’m sure when you realise a stay in the summer it would be nice to enjoy the lovely garden area. Another big bonus was the generous welcome hamper – best we ever had in a holiday accommodation. Alison and Michael made us feel very welcome and are the perfect hosts. All in all one of the best presented holiday cottages we ever stayed in - in almost 30 years of travelling all over Great Britain. We will happily return in the future - already booked another stay - thank you so much for a memorable holiday!
