Very cozy accommodation, just as described.

We loved being able to hear the waves breaking on the shore.

Beach Retreat is in the perfect position over looking the beach which is easily accessible on foot.

The beach is sandy and gently shelving which makes it ideal for children and adults alike. There is an RNLI lifeguard on duty too. We had superb weather for our week so we mainly had trips out in the morning and spent the afternoon at the beach. There are some lovely places to visit in the area including several breweries and distilleries. The honey farm at New Quay was a real favourite. The isolated beach at Mwnt is a must see and the National wool museum was well worth visiting. This is a charming and unspoilt part of Wales.

Beach Retreat is a cosy property with everything you need for two.

The location is second to none, overlooking the beach, from which it is but a short walk. It is also very close to the local convenience shop, and a great cafe (Shibwns). The two main pub/restaurants and a fine fish and chip shop are also only ten minutes walk away, on the other side of the beach. We would recommend the Ship Inn, a short clifftop walk of about a 1 mile to the west, in nearby Tresaith (not to be confused with the Ship in Aberporth). We would highly recommend Beach Retreat.

This little cottage is part of a larger house with the same name which has been tastefully divided.

The loft bedroom/sitting room is accessible via stairs, these are quite steep as is typical of an old property of this type, but might make it difficult for less able guests. The house is nicely appointed and accurate to the listing description. You are overlooking the beach, and you will get the afternoon/evening sun through the upstairs windows. You have a parking space at the front. Bathroom and kitchen have everything you need. Plenty of hot water, and good water pressure from the shower. My husband and I found the only thing we missed was a little garden. We did take the outdoor chairs and table out to the front of the cottage but although the planting was beautiful, there wasn’t too much space. We found taking drinks out onto the public lawn area which overlooks the beach a better solution, there were quite a few dogs up there enjoying their holiday too.

Stunning views and lovely surroundings.

However the 2 single beds pushed together is uncomfortable as you cannot have a cuddle and this property is for 2 people. Had everything we needed but is a bit tired now with the paint work. Banister could have done with a good clean too. Utilised space well. I understand about bringing your own towels, but a hand towel would have been good. We used a tea towel.

Beach Retreat was a cosy holiday apartment.

Bed was really comfortable and shower was lovely and hot. It's position is the best part. Walk a few steps onto the village green with a coffee and you can see the whole beach and surrounding area. Lovely watching the tides and seeing dogs and their owners enjoying the beach and sea even at 5:30 in the morning! Lovely scenery and walks. The village had everything needed. Everyone we met residents and visitors alike were so friendly. Really enjoyed Aberporth. It would have been nice to have a small garden area and a radio or small TV in kitchen area but all in all loved it.

Lovely little place to stay.

Very quiet location looking out onto the beach which is a 2 minute walk away .Very cosy and the owner has thought of everything that you would need.Bed was very comfortable we even had sky tv. Will definatly be going back

A wonderful location and lovely property.

Very quiet place, good facilities and a comfortable bed. Our second stay here. Bumped my head going down the stairs to the loo a few times in the night, despite the warning label, otherwise a great place to stay. If you’re very elderly or infirm, the stairs might present a small problem. Would love to return here again.

Lovely small cottage with all that we needed.

Great coastal walks and lovely views. We have never been disappointed with Sykes' cottages.

We enjoyed our stay so much we have booked again for next year.

If I had to pick one thing it would be that the sofa was quite uncomfortable, but this did not by any means spoil anything about our stay. We have been going to aberporth for the last 20 years and this was our first time in this accommodation, it rained for most of the week but coming back to this cozy little place was great.

Due to oversights by the previous occupant (and the cleaner!

) we arrived to a dishwasher full of dirty dishes, which we were going to clean by hand as there were no dishwasher tablets. But resolved by a phone call to the cleaning company. An unfortunate start but things go wrong occasionally. On the plus side we were able to store our eBikes in the entrance passage, a real bonus for us. And it's a great area for cycling too. So may well return!

The cottage is lovely and has great views across the bay. It's quiet, comfortable and is very close to the beach, local shops and places to eat. It's a great place to relax and unwind and is the perfect base for adventures around Cardigan Bay.

Lovely property with beautiful views would definately stay here again.

It would be nice to have access to the garden at the rear of the main house.

The dining chairs in the kitchen are uncomfortable. Everything else is great!

We had such a lovely holiday in Beach Retreat.

A really comfortable, well-appointed apartment in a great location with splendid sea views. I loved the cottage decor in calming seaside colours and the attention to detail, with everything you would need anticipated. A welcome package of milk, Welsh cakes and crisps was much appreciated as was all the local information. It was such a treat to be able to walk in five minutes to a beautiful sandy beach, swim in the sea and come home to eat fish and chips overlooking the view. Great shower too. We will definitely come back.

A Perfect Property in a Beautiful Setting overlooking the Beach.

Ideal for families and couples. Convenience Stores and Post Office in close proximity. Together with a Cafe, Chinese Takeaway, Pub, and Indian Restaurant. All in All the Complete Package!

We had a comfortable and relaxing stay.

The Beach Retreat is beautifully situated, overlooking the village green and provides a wonderful vantage point to view the beach. The kitchen is very well equipped and we would recommend that visitors take time to read the provided information folder. It proved informative, particularly with regards to local restaurants and places to visit. It led us to some lovely restaurants in Cardigan, Tenby and Gwbert. We would highly recommend Sunday lunch at the restaurant at Cardigan Castle! Lovely food and excellent customer service. Our visit brought back many happy, family memories.

One of the best views seen from the numerous cottages booked over the years. Ideally situated for walks, the beach, local shops and eating out. Would book again, highly recommended.

We stayed recently at this property.

I contacted Skyes with photos showing the broken vent, flaking paint, and filth in several areas of the property. After chasing for a 3rd time they replied saying they are a letting agent, it is the landlord's responsibility to maintain a property. In my opinion, this property needs better maintenance and a thorough clean.

! Amazing location - can watch the sea all day long and perfect for a daily dip. Great having a parking space right outside too. Can also recommend the Ship - they serve great food and there's a very helpful corner shop just a few minutes walk away. Would just say - you need to bring towels - the information is contradictory on the website - but they weren't provided. Would love to come back here - in every season!.

This is a really comfortable and cosy place to stay.

It has a good kitchen and an excellent shower. The main living/bedroom is well lit and well provided. We really liked it and would stay again. It would get 11/10 if there had been a pint glass for my beer

We really enjoyed our stay at Beach Retreat.

It is in an excellent location only a short walk from the beach and the village facilities. We enjoyed exploring the lovely beaches and coves of this beautiful area. Aberporth has two very pleasant beaches - one with lifeguards, the other suitable for dogs. The cottage is very comfortable and well equipped. We will definitely be making a return visit.

Lovely cottage and the location was stunning only down side was the stairs only handle on one side felt unsafe especially if you needed the loo in the night.

Loads of cobwebs could do with a deep clean in between change over. There was still dishes in the dishwasher from previous couple and rubbish in bathroom bin. The change over time is ridiculous 4pm to get in vacate by 9am lose a day.

Perfect location and everything to hand in the property to make for a comfortable stay.

Falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the waves on the beach below is delightful.Have visited Aberporth and the surrounding area on many occasions,but never stayed in Aberporth itself.The wife and I will definitely return to this property in the near future.

A comfortable cottage, nice and warm, plenty of hot water, good shower, well equipped kitchen, ideal location, only downside was the stairs to the ground floor to the one and only toilet.

This property is not suitable for people with mobility problems. Bad stain on carpet from previous guests. Info on Sykes site say one bedroom with sitting room, this I class as 2 rooms. It should read 1 bedroom with sitting area, this is very MISLEADING. On returning one day we found the radiator in the bathroom was leaking, we spent one & half days mopping up the water with towels before the plumber came. This is not very good for people like us aged 80 years. This caused a lot of problems that we decided to come home 2 days early. The property was not very clean when we arrived there but it was left in a clean state on our departure.

The property was well equipped with plenty of utensils and dishes.

Some items in the bottom drawer had been put away dirty and needed to be washed. Trays in oven had not been cleaned properly by previous guests and were sticky with burnt on grease and were unusable. Ground floor has the utility room with separate fridge, freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave and toaster. Bathroom with toilet sink and walk in shower and also the kitchen with table and chairs. Stairs up to the bedroom/lounge area a bit steep and open on one side; you need to duck your head on way down if you are tall. Great views from the upstairs windows on both sides. The property was located at the end of a narrow road with a grassed area in front overlooking the beach cove below. Easy walk down to get to the beach. Beautiful location.

Only minus was the toilet being downstairs and bedroom upstairs.

The kitchen was very well equipped. There was lots of space for food and it was good to have both a freezer and fridge. The local shops were a short walk up the road and we had lovely views over Aberporth and the beaches from the upstairs windows. The bed and seating in the lounge were very comfortable and overall we had a very relaxing holiday.

The cottage is more spacious than shown in pics. Has everything you could possibly want. Comfy, large bed, plenty storage, good shower. Stunning views across the bay and good access to lovely walks. No parking problems . Such a lovely area to visit and hope to return to Beach Retreat.

Extremely comfortable and well equipped cottage.

We particularly enjoyed the powerful shower. Great to have a huge television complete with SKY, especially as the weather was rather stormy. We were cosy and warm whilst watching the waves crashing against the rocks in the bay. The bed was excellent too. A perfect winter break and we did get out and about between between the downpours.

Lovely place, lovely view from kitchen IF the hedges out the front were not in the way to spoil the view!

Toilet down stairs not good at night but managed. Was unable to get sky, it needed the owners password, phoned coast and country who said they would pass it over, heard nothing, then txt agent, then again no reply. Niggly things really, so would definately return to the beach retreat as it is a very beautiful place to unwind.

Perfect accommodation and perfect weather.

This is a fantastic cottage in a lovely area.

Ideal for walking but also just opposite two beaches. Aberporth is very relaxing and as soon as you arrive you feel so much better. The cottage has everything you need, and has a lovely comfy feel to it.

Fantastic stay, the views across to the bay are amazing and the accommodation was lovely, the bed was so comfy after a days walking it was much needed!

The only thing for me was no welcome pack, after a long drive it would of been nice to have milk, even just to make a cup of tea just lacked that finishing touch but apart from that it was perfect! We will definitely return.

Having walked past this property for many many years it was a pleasure to stay there.

It was extremely well equipped, comfortable and comfy. Met the owners and they were so friendly. Would certainly recommend this property. Within walking distance of everything the village of Aberporth has to offer and has amazing views across the bay from the upstairs windows.

Had a few issues with sky TV which owners fixed immediately. Couple of decent pubs in village and lots of nice coat walks. Saw dolphins and a few seals in the bay. Only negative is the ridiculous check in time of 6 and check out of 9. This is not needed and if extra time is needed for covid then you should stagger the cottages. I.e cottage with a late check in gets late check out !

Beach Retreat is ideal for a couple and has everything you need, including an excellent library!

It is well situated in a quiet but accessible part of the village.

Helped me regain a sense of normality after long pandemic with hard work and little peace for me. Particularly recommend the stone age settlement a few miles past Cardigan- fascinating.

Had a great week in this comfortable and well-equipped cottage, which was more spacious than we had anticipated.

The details on the website don't do it justice, as it's in just about the best location in Aberporth, at the end of the beach road with lovely views, and a footpath from the cottage winding down to the beach and the town. The perfect base for exploring this lovely coastline.

Beach retreat is exactly what it says and we felt relaxed from the moment we walked in. Very friendly locals too.

The location was great.

The accommodation was lovely. The wonderful weather meant we could sit on the benches conveniently just outside the property. I did bump my head a couple of times going up the stairs, but soon learned to duck a little. We enjoyed the tranquility of the location. Although the local restaurants/pubs weren’t open, the local takeaway was very reasonable. Met a few local people who were all very friendly. - A lovely place.

The cottage is in a great position, with the beach within an easy walk of a few minutes, and the coastal path round the corner with stunning views of Cardigan Bay.

The area has some lovely beaches and walks. We saw dolphins and a variety of seabirds. The cottage itself had everything we needed, was clean and everything as advertised. Due to Covid restrictions there was no literature about local places to eat etc. Maybe a page could be put online, although we realise, as we are only just coming out of lockdown, that the information will change over the coming months. Wifi was not great, as maybe expected in such a rural area, but as we needed a break maybe it was for the best. Thoroughly enjoyed being there, and would book again.

WiFi was slightly patchy at times and I felt official check in and out times should have been more like hotel times.

. 6pm and 9am are too extreme, especially for short breaks , and especially for the prices per night..but overall we really loved the cottage and thoroughly enjoyed our holiday there. It was so comfortable and warm and just an attractive space in a beautiful setting. The kitchen and utility room were extremely well equipped. Thank you.

Excellent location with sea views and very convenient car parking (for an average or small car).

Well equipped with fairly effective heating. The upstairs windows however are poor fitting and drafty so might not be ideal in very cold windy weather. The area is particularly good for easy access to some splendid parts of the Ceredigion coast.

All good and as described on Sykes website, (apart from the fact that there is no DVD player).

The situation of the cottage and the views overlooking the bay are superb. We will definitely return.
