Rose Cottage

We had a really lovely stay at Rose Cottage-thank you!

The cottage itself was wonderful and very clean and spacious. Great location- we thoroughly enjoyed St Dogmaels market on Tuesday and all the tasty goods that were on sale. Poppit sands was fab too (as was Cardigan town). Glebelands market garden also worth a visit for tasty fresh organic veg and very good value! I’m sure we will return again in the future!

What a great place to stay.

The house is better than its pictures and the owners have done a great job modernising it. Facilities are good with enough for 6 to 8 people to eat and cook for. Rooms are good although first floor double beds are just normal doubles. The bathroom is spacious and one bedroom has ensuite. Outside space is limited with a small back area and a roadside garden with seating to eat in the summer. May be a bit of a let down in summer but we went in snowy January! Overall would definitely recommend.

Beautiful cottage in fantastic condition.

Perfect for a group with a large, comfortable, communal sitting area and kitchen. Car park round the corner. Luxury bed linen and towels. Well equipped kitchen. Welcome box full of local delicacies.

This is our 3rd visit to Rose Cottage and we always love staying there.

Its comfortable and cosy warm. Very well equipped with everything you could need. Every time we have stayed there there has been a very generous welcome pack.....much appreciated after our journey! We hope to return in ghe new year.

A lovely property to stay in.

Convenient location. Everything you need and a thoughtful welcome pack. Beds could be bit more comfortable and a couple of coffee tables to put your drinks when relaxing in the evening would have been handy. Would definitely recommend.

A beautiful cottage in a lovely village.

Very well equipped cottage with everything you need while on a holiday including washing machine,dryer, ironing board and iron . Lovely fish and chip shop a minutes walk away and a short drive to a great dog friendly beach . A good holiday enjoyed by us all .

A lovely few days at Rose Cottage in the heart of St Dogmaels and on the Coast Path.

Very much appreciated the comfort of beds and carpets and the design of interior.

We had a 18 month boy with us who was super appreciative of the toys. The cottage was well appointed with outside shower and great use made of the small sunny front garden. Thank you, we enjoyed our stay in your cottage.

Dont worry about no back garden, front garden was lovely and had lovely afternoon sun

Lovely house in beautiful St Dogmaels We specially appreciated the outdoor shower for cleaning our sandy dog and our own sandy feet It would be good if the cleaning team would check the lights work okay, the top landing light was out (safety issue) and one of the bedside lights The toilet flush lever in the family bathroom was sheared off and fell off in our hand on the first flush and the utility washbasin tap broke on the second day and would not turn off.

Luckily we were able to turn off the valves to stop the waste of water and power Because it happened on our first two days we had to wait to contact Sykes but when we did we agreed that the plumbing problems could wait until the next changeover We were very quickly called back by Sykes after requesting a callback so all good

What a wonderful stay in Rose Cottage.

It has been thoughtfully renovated and furnished. It's location is great for exploring the area. We would particularly recommend walking to the Ferry Inn - great food and a warm welcome, then on to Poppit Sands or book a dolphin watching trip with A Bay to Remember from the wharf. We'll be back!

This is our second visit to Rose Cottage.

We love the cottage and its situation. We stayed for 4 nights over New Year and the cottage was decorated beautifully with a Christmas tree and decorated throughout with Christmas decorations. Our host brought around a lovely hamper for us.....so very generous

Rose Cottage is as perfect as we remember it from seven years ago!

We enjoyed our stay at Rose Cottage.

The house was well equipped and we enjoyed the welcome gifts (even the ones for the dogs). Ideally situated to visit New Quay, Tenby, Carmarthen to name a few towns we enjoyed all within a hours drive. Property was well stocked and exactly as described. Our only small issue was some of the cleanliness, the main shower we had to clean ourselves and there were lots of dust and cobwebs scattered about

Perfectly situated for us. Have visited the village many times over the years. It’s finding accommodation that fits us all in. A short walk from the car park £25 for a weeks stay. Lovely market at the abbey tues mornings selling local produce.

We all had a fantastic stay at Rose Cottage.

We were so impressed with how clean and tidy the rooms were and how well-equipped the kitchen and place in general was. We all had a great time and we will definitely be returning. I must apologise for the later check out from us - that was a total mistake on our side. But I must say a huge thank you for being so accommodating as I do appreciate that the error was on our part. Thank you very much for a great stay.

Just returned from an absolutely fabulous break at Rose Cottage St Dogmaels.

Such lovely accommodation! It was great to walk in to clean bright and airy kitchen lounge diner. Tastefully decorated. Kitchen well equipped and TV Netflix etc was a boon. I loved the bedrooms. Plenty of room for us very comfortable 3 doubles and a bunk room. The best thing was the river walk just a minute from the front door through car park and you are on the river Teifi. The beautiful Poppit sands a very short 5 min drive. We went there most days. Absolutely loved it and StDogmaels Also recommend the Tuesday local produce farmers market , set in the beautiful grounds of the Abbey. Also the great little chippy opposite and local pubs were a great asset! Would definitely go again!

Location was tricky to find there is another Rose Cottage up the road, which coursed a little confusion.

Rose Cottage was perfect for a four person 3 day writing retreat. The proximity of the river and open spaces was an added bonus.

It is a lovely property and we actually thought the photos don’t do it justice.

We found that there was everything we needed to enjoy our stay and couldn’t really fault it. Thanks

Beautiful cottage, in a lovely area.

Plenty of crockery and cutlery, nice soft furnishings and comfortable beds. We managed to watch Netflix and bbc iplayer but couldn’t get the free sat box to work or get normal channels, but that didn’t bother us. My only suggestion would be that it would have been nice to have had a couple of single beds instead of one of the double beds, and a wardrobe . Would definitely recommend and would love to return sometime x

It was extremely well equipped.... everything was thought of. The cottage was very comfortable and cosy. We stayed with our daughter and 3 grandchildren (& Leonard the dog!). They all want to stay again

Lot of dust around fire siround, tumble dryer not cleaned out before we arrived example water container full of water and caused water on floor.

Told to leave bins out on Thursday for collection and was told collection was every 3 weeks both not collected on both visits had to by tea spoons because there were only a couple No anti alagi pillows

The property is looking a bit tired.

We don't have dogs and the smell of dogs on the living room furniture and blankets was very strong. There is a lot of dust due to the large number of (lovely) knicknacks everywhere. The ensuite bathroom door doesn't shut and the boiler seems to switch on and off throughout the night. One set of bedding had bloodstains on the sheets and other stains on the duvet cover. The road is very noisy. Otherwise this is a large house with comfy beds, and ideal for a family who don't mind road noise and have dogs.

The cottage and area where very good, but cleanliness downstairs let it down, didn’t affect are stay .

Holiday cottage was excellent, had everything we needed.

Spacious enough with there only being two of us and two dogs, but a nice cosy feel about the cottage when we got back in the evenings after a days travelling/walking. Absolutely great location for exploring the West coast with Cardigan on the doorstep and Tenby/Fishguard/St. David’s all within 45mins drive. Village also had everything we needed, a local shop for supplies, a chip-shop, and two pubs within walking distance. The White Hart Community pub which is a 2min walk away served great food and there was a friendly atmosphere about the place. Would highly recommend the property.

We enjoyed our stay at Rose Cottage.

We appreciated that everything was provided. As we had small children and dogs the stair gates and baby equipment was very important. The house was to a very high spec and was clean and inviting. The location was quite central. There were local amenities if we ran out of anything. The Fish and Chip shop was to die for. Having not been to this particular location previously, I didn’t realise it is very picturesque. The beaches are nearby and clean and welcome dogs. I very much hope to return one day. It could have been cleaner to be fair.

We had to clean both showers to start as they were covered in the orange scum build up from soap etc. The rim at the bottom was black and the shower drain hadn’t been cleaned from hair for ages. My daughter found 2 little blue pills under her bed! Not good with a baby in the room. Living room and crockery and bed linen were clean. The black bin in the shed was overflowing. Our black bag wouldn’t fit in. Unsure when the “ private “ collection takes place. Also it says put glass bottles in bottle bank in car park. That’s no longer there. So glass had to go in general waste in car park which is a recycling shame. Kitchen scissors and a potato peeler would be useful in the kitchen drawer. These are only small things but may be helpful comments. We did have a lovely stay though and would recommend and return.

Great clean house/ great location /great holiday

Great spacious property, immaculately clean, had everything required.

Made a good base for exploring local beaches esp. Poppit sands and Mwnt. Particularly good kitchen which was great as places to eat out were tricky to find.

What a gem of a cottage and a lovely area.

Perfect for our family of 3 generations and a dog. Light and airy, spacious living space, well equipped kitchen and the bonus of a utility room and downstairs loo. Sunny front garden. Comfy beds, great showers and lovely bath. Stair gates were great for keeping the toddlers safe and limiting the dog to downstairs. We would definitely book the cottage again.

A lovely clean cottage.

It is well maintained and is in an excellent location. It was a lovely gesture and pleasant Easter surprise for the owners to leave us hot cross buns, daffodils and chocolates on the pillows. Our grandson was in his element collecting them all and did share one or two!! We had a lovely stay and am sure we will return sometime. St Dogmaels was a quiet, picturesque place. The staff at the Coach House and White Hart were very welcoming and friendly. The food was excellent in both places. All in all we all had a relaxing break.

Very conveniently situated right next to the coastal path, great for taking the dog out in the mornings etc.

A very spacious cottage with ample space for the four of us. Well equipped and tastefully decorated. Cardigan very close by.

Beautiful cottage, very comfortable and clean, had everything you need and more, our only negative was the cleaning cupboard under the stairs could have been more organised, with two dogs we had to clean the floors every day.

Also the courtyard was very small for two dogs, but the area had some great walks along the estuary and on the beach. Supermarket was very well stocked just a few doors away and the Community Pub where they make you very welcome (dogs included). We had amazing food on New Year’s Eve in the Ferry Inn where dogs are also welcome. We had a great time and will definitely be returning to cardigan.

Rose cottage location was fabulous, however damp in the upstairs bedroom meant we couldn’t use it !

The whole house is full of nic nacs that really need sorting with Covid it would make the cleaning so much easier as there is stuff shoved in cupboards and drawers everywhere and so the cleaning isn’t as it should be! No wardrobes , if some of the old large furniture was removed it would make space to hang stuff rather then on hooks! We found food left in freezer, recycling bins full from previous guests, very dusty everywhere , dehumidifier was full in the top room we couldn’t use, but our main issue was the en-suite, NO DOOR on it so if you sat on the toilet you were in full view of not just the occupants of the bedroom but also the house across the road! On saying that we had a lovely stay great watching the world go by in the front, everything you need for cooking ( when you finally find what your looking for ), right on the coastal path, The ferry Inn down the road was great atmosphere, location and food, farmers market on the Tuesday worth a visit as was the Farm shop down the road along with lots of other things including the chippy!

If you want to stay in high quality holiday cottage accommodation, then Rose Cottage is for you !

From roadside appears small but Tardis like, is a lot bigger inside , where every available inch of space is put to good use. Tastefully furnished and nicely decorated , put simply , we all felt we could live there !!!!!

It was a lovely property, and the area itself was nice with friendly people in the village.

Shame that it rained such a lot as otherwise we would have explored the area more.

Rose Cottage is in a lovely part of Wales in a beautiful little, everyone in the village are friendly and welcoming, the fish and chip shop always as a queue outside and they are really tasty especially the cod - Rose Cottage was spotless on arrival - well equipped with everything you could need, the downstairs is open plan and very spacious- the bedrooms light and airy, a big American fridge freezer to stock up if you want, a wonderful stay and look forward to going back again

Fantastic cottage in a fantastic location - out of the way, friendly village but near enough to activities.

What a pleasure it was to come back to this home from home each night and curl up on the sofas. Wales is simply beautiful and this home put the icing on the cake.

The facilities in this house were fabulous and had everything you could possibly need for everyone from babies to elderly parents. If you came away and forgot anything you could be sure to find it in the house somewhere, so we’ll thought out. Thank you for a great stay. It was a perfect place to stay and enjoy some quality time as a family.

Rose cottage was absolutely beautiful ,what a great place st dogmaels is ,people are so friendly, the area of cardigan have stunning views and fabulous beaches, cant wait to return .

just found our bed really hard.poppit sands one of the nicest beaches we've been on.

I know its difficult to suit everybody but the mattresses on the beds were very hard, this was something noticed by everybody.

A dvd player would be a welcome addition but this is only a minor gripe. Otherwise everything was great. Many thanks

Had a great break in Rose Cottage.

Facilities were really good for our family of 5 adults, 3 children and one dog with plenty of space for all. The cottage was warm and comfortable and everything had been thought of to make it complete. The sunny front garden was a lovely place to sit and the locals in the village are really friendly. There is a weekly Tuesday market selling home baked bread, cakes etc. and vegetables together with crafts. St. Dogmaels is a real homely village with a riverside walk to the Ferry Inn which has a riverside decked area. There is a small playground in the village for young children too. The chip shop portions were a little small but on the whole the quality was ok but not the best we've had. There is an old water mill that gives guided tours and the ancient Abbey ruins are worth a look. Poppit Sands which has dunes is a short drive. The beach and walks at Mwnt (Nat. Trust) are a good place to spot dolphins and seals. All in all plenty to see and do. Tenby is one hours drive away. Would fully recommend Rose Cottage.

The cottage was very well appointed and conveniently located to access the many attractions in the area.

The High Street may be narrow outside the cottage ( no parking possible ) but any inconvenience is offset by the nearby car park. There are numerous walks to be enjoyed in the area, as well as some beautiful beaches and stunning countryside. It's impossible to take a bad photograph! Cardigan is only 1 mile away with all facilities . Most importantly the local residents were very friendly and welcoming. We would have no hesitation in returning to the cottage.

fantastic cottage!

A fabulous cottage well suited for a larger party of guests.

Everything we needed was there including a vast array of toys which our grandson loved playing with. The kitchen was well stocked with every utensil and pan we could ever need and everything was spotlessly clean throughout. The four bedrooms all beautifully decorated with fresh, crisp linen on the beds and attention to detail was evident in all rooms. Brilliant shower and a huge bath again all spotlessly clean. The owners also left wine and chocolates for my husband as it was a special birthday for him - this was much appreciated. All in all a lovely cottage in a great area very near the beach and some great places to visit nearby . Excellent pubs too. Highly recommend a visit to Rose Cottage.

The cream sofas in the cottage were not comfortable to sit on.

The majority of the beds were also very hard, which made sleeping a challenge. Beds are easily rectified with a memory foam mattress topper. In the top bedroom there is no blind so light floods in in the morning. What is disappointing is that requests for a blind in there have been in the visitor's book in the lounge for over a year so it doesn't appear that the owners are listening to feedback. The bath was the most amazing bath I have been in. So deep and it fit my 6foot hustband in with room to spare. He never has a bath but was loving this one. Good selection of toys for the bath too although I would recommend the owners bin the squishy ones as they have black bacteria in them. It was grim to have it squirted on to me by my child on the first night. The other toys and books on offer in the lounge were a great addition. The location was really good. There were some lovely walks to do with the dogs and we ventured to Poppit Sands often. Food wise there is a lovely chippy over the road for first night tea. There is an Aldi and Tesco a short drive away. There is a Premier shop 2mins walk up the road for essentials. We also went into Cardigan and ate at Pizza Tipi and El Salsa. Both had a street food vibe but the food was amazing and would highly recommend. Our favourite place to visit was the Shire Horse farm. We got there for 11ish and got to experience everything in about 4 and a half hours. My little boy loved it. All in all we loved our holiday house and whilst I have made suggestions for improvement that is to help with the customer experience.

The cottage was lovely and was very well catered for all our needs.

Loved the cottage and its facilities and really enjoyed our holiday with my 80 year old parents.

We had a severely leaking kettle when we arrived but this was dealt very quickly by the owners to which we were very satisfied with. However I didn't find it as clean as it could have been. Underneath the sofas had toe nails, toy cars, lego and a lot of hair therefore clearly hadn't been cleaned before our arrival and should have been checked. I'd really recommend this beautiful cottage as its in a lovely spot, the people are very friendly. 2 lovely pubs that serve food and on the whole a very dog friendly place. The Ferry Inn our favourite for meals and The White Heart just down the road for drinks. Lots of shops in cardigan are dog friendly too. I would have given 4/5 * but cleanliness is the absolute basics for me.

We had a fantastic stay here.

The cottage was in a perfect location for trips out to Cardigan, Pembrokeshire and Poppit Sands. It had everythign we needed for a comfortable stay, in a beautiful spot. There's a shop just up the road for any essentials and the bus stops right outside the house for anyone wanting a break from driving. There's a pub and a chip shop on the same road and we had a really interesting tour of the local mill which is definitely worth a visit. The rooms were beautiful and everyone noted that they hadn't missed their home comforts while staying there. There was even a pint of milk on arrival! We would definitely stay again and could ahve easily stayed for another week. A great family holiday spot.

Superb location.

No hassle parking and reasonable price. Fantastic range oven and gas hob, loved cooking on and in this. The Tuesday produce market was superb. So friendly in the pub down the road, the White Hart. Superb food. Lovely people. Also really friendly and especially dog friendly at the Ferry Inn. Did not eat there but it looked really good. Lovely walks out of the back door. Poppit Sands was superb for dogs to the right. We were blessed with superb weather. The neighbours were lovely and so friendly. Happy to have a chat and pet our dogs. Lovely to sit out in the front garden and watch the world go by.

We had a great family time with 6 adults and 5 children aged 6 and below.

The house was just right for our needs and is situated in a particularly wonderful part of Wales with great access to beaches and places to walk with children. we were blessed with very good weather which certainly helped.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and plenty to do and see some lovely walks and the beaches were fab.

Great location in the centre of the village with numerous great walks from the doorstep.

Side door was a godsend to dry the dog and keep the mess to a minimum. House was very nice with every home comfort. The local pub ( The white hart).was very friendly with excellent food. Overall a great stay, would definitely recommend.

The gorgeous cottage it had everything you could think of even a pint of Milk and bar of chocolate wating for us.

Brilliant location in a very pretty village within walking distance of pubs beach shops at Cardigan loved it.

Beautiful and homely cottage!

We all felt at home, warm and had plenty of space for the eight of us. The location is on one of my favourite parts of Wales, with plenty to do in the area, I loved being able to walk in to Cardigan and poppit sands.

Wow what a wonderful find this cottage was like a 5 star hotel with everything you could need, we absolutely loved it and well placed for Abbey,Poppit Sands Cardigan and many more places

Standard of cleanliness was excellent .

The cottage was home from home . Kitchen so well equipped . Beds were so comfy . We all loved it .
