Oak Cottage
Description
Oak Cottage are pleased to announce that the woods are now open to guests and their canine companions!
We are pleased to be able to offer access to this lovely woodland. You will find both native and other species of trees, together with various seasonal fungi and lichens. We often have young buzzards in the woods. If you are lucky, you may see them either feeding from the woodland floor or flying between the trees. There are also rabbits and other woodland creatures.
The woodland is enclosed all around with stock-proof wire fencing. It should be safe for your pooch to be let off the lead unless you know they are likely to jump out! From time to time there may well be stock in the surrounding fields.
For your safety, please be aware that there are multiple ‘hazards’ to be found in this woodland. Tree stumps, hidden dips and rabbit holes, low branches, fallen debris etc. Guests are welcome to enjoy walking in these woods, but at their own risk! We ask that guests please respect the woodland area and bag all dog waste and place in the bin provided by the gates. This former barn has been converted into an end-terrace cosy cottage with an enclosed private garden and hot tub plus a large balcony providing elevated views across the valley to the Preselli hills. There's two bedrooms at this lovely barn, a double and a single room, as well as a compact shower room. Downstairs is an open plan living area with a kitchen, dining and seating areas and the added bonus of a conservatory with comfy seating. This is a delightful getaway for couples or a small group, looking for a peaceful base to explore the local area while having plenty of space in and around the cottage to make the most of relaxation time. Note: This cottage can be booked with Refs. 943680 and 943687, together they sleep 11.

What guests are saying
Great cottage and hot tub, good location to local amenities.
And the wood to exercise dogs was excellent.
Oak cottage was like a home from home, everything we needed was there, the hosts Les & Leslie were friendly & welcoming, the basket of essentials that was there on our arrival was very much appreciated.
The welcome pack had all the information required regarding places of interest to visit, plus places to eat out. Anyone contemplating visiting this part of Wales I would have no qualms in recommending Oak cottage as a base to explore the area.
Another lovely week at Oak Cottage, our favourite in mid-Wales.
Always spotlessly clean when we arrive. Owners live on site and are always friendly and available but never intrusive. The new woodland walk is a great addition - dog-proof fencing means they can run around off the lead whilst I have a quiet, mindful sit and get immersed in nature. The hot tub is also welcome, after a day out it's great to sit and be gently massaged. The nearby town of Newcastle Emlyn has everything you might need. The Grapes is dog-friendly and has nice meals. Pleasant, easy walk around the castle where the last Welsh dragon was slain. Shortish drive to beaches, our favourite is Poppit Sands where you can find a resting place among the sand dunes. Crwst by the car park does tasty snacks to eat there or on the beach. All in all, a great relaxing week and I can't wait to go back again next year. Thank you Les and Lesley!
