The spa town of Llandrindod Wells is close by, as well as the beautiful Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons).

Why not take a day trip to Hay-on-Wye, famous for books and has nearly 40 book shops as well as characterful antique shops and cafes.

The famous Hay Festival of Literature and Arts is held here annually.

There is also Builth Wells Royal Welsh Show ground, with events all year round.
