Rose cottage is such a lovely little place to stay.

It is compact but has everything you might need. It was exceptionally clean and tidy and the bed was the most comfortable I've ever slept in. It was so lovely and quiet at the cottage and we slept very well. One small complaint is that the shower is not well thought out. It's impossible to stand under the shower because of the position of the bath. It also runs hot then freezing. The one thing you really want after a day's walking is a good shower. One other observation is that the signs around the cottage are written in quite a threatening tone, guests are happy to be respectful and careful without being threatened with extra cleaning costs and being reported to Sykes Cottages! Instructions could be reworded to make guests feel welcomed. Beautiful cottage though and we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday.

The Rose Cottage is a fabulous place to stay and we would definitely go back.

The house is very comfortable and wonderfully secluded. Only minor notes are the floor is very creaky and the shower is hard to use for tall guests but there’s a lovely bath so not a problem if you are happy to use that instead! Very worth a 5 star review, we had an amazing stay!

The property is pleasantly decorated.

Very comfortable. A lot of thought has gone into making it work. Beautiful spot with splendid views to the Black Mountains. There is no broadband, and mobile phone coverage is variable depending on your provider. Road access is a single track lane with few passing places, so be prepared to reverse some distances. We enjoyed our week there.
