Just a short drive from the charming town of Llandeilo, this lovely semi-detached cottage is perfectly placed near the picturesque village of Golden Grove, right in the heart of Carmarthenshire. Surrounded by peaceful countryside and with breathtaking views stretching across the valley towards the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons), it offers a truly special setting for a relaxing Welsh getaway.

Part of a small and welcoming complex of three barn conversions, with the owners close by, this cottage makes a wonderful base for families or friends looking to spend quality time together while exploring the very best of West Wales – from coast to countryside.

Inside, the cottage has a warm and homely feel, with a well-equipped kitchen that’s perfect for preparing everything from lazy breakfasts to hearty evening meals. The dining table is a lovely spot to gather, share good food and plan the next day’s adventures. The inviting sitting room is full of character, featuring an exposed stone wall and a cosy electric log burner, creating a relaxing space to unwind. Large patio doors frame the stunning countryside views, making it the perfect place to curl up with a book or enjoy a quiet evening in front of the Smart TV.

Step outside and you’ll find yourself fully immersed in the beauty of the surrounding landscape. The outdoor space is ideal for making the most of the peaceful setting, whether you’re enjoying a morning coffee, dining al fresco, or sinking into the hot tub for a soothing soak while taking in those far-reaching views.

The ground floor hosts a luxurious master bedroom with a super king-size bed and its own en-suite shower room, offering a calm and comfortable retreat. Upstairs, the second bedroom provides flexible zip-and-link twin beds (which can be made into a super king on request), along with its own en-suite, making it perfect for families or friends sharing. When you’re ready to explore, the nearby town of Llandeilo offers a wonderful mix of independent shops, galleries, and inviting places to eat, while the historic town of Carmarthen provides even more to discover. Known as the Garden of Wales, the surrounding area is rich in natural beauty, with highlights including the National Botanic Garden of Wales and the enchanting Aberglasney Gardens. For those who love the outdoors, there’s no shortage of adventure on offer – from cycling through Brechfa Forest and fishing along the River Towy, to spotting wildlife such as red kites, owls, badgers and deer. The stunning beaches of the Gower Peninsula, including Three Cliffs Bay and Rhossili Bay, are within easy reach for memorable days by the sea, while the nearby Black Mountain and Brecon Beacons National Park offer incredible walking opportunities. Set within the magnificent Towy Valley, this charming cottage is the perfect place to relax, explore and create lasting holiday memories in one of Wales’ most beautiful regions.

We really enjoyed our October break recently at the Gwennol Cottage, hosted by Kev and Mandy.

The cottage has incredible views, internally the property has everything you could need, the landscaping of the grounds are well thought out and toasting marshmallows at the lit up Pergola made our stay amazing. The 2 folders compiled by the owners are exceptional in their detail and information that leaves very room for any unanswered questions or expectation of what comes with the cottage. We really appreciated how clean it was, the gifts on entry, the robes, all the kitchen essentials, WiFi, the 2 shower rooms with really nice overhead boiler fed showers and finding the cottage was easy enough. We would very much recommend this to a couple or a small family for a laid back, peaceful stay to enjoy the surroundings and have fun in the cottage and the surrounding cottage grounds.

A lovely week at a special cottage.

It was well equipped and had everything needed to have a comfortable stay. Mandy and Kev were great hosts and had lots of local knowledge of the area. It was a little remote with a single track road leading up to it but there wasn’t much traffic so it didn’t cause a problem.

A really wonderful cottage which is furnished, equipped and finished so thoughtfully and beautifully that it feels more like ‘a home from home’ than a holiday cottage.

Especially comfortable sofa and beds! The kitchen was great with everything you need (and we were grateful for the most delicious Welsh cakes and beautiful flowers on arrival!) The hot tub was divine and we enjoyed sitting it in and admiring the stunning view of the valley. Mandy and Kev are responsive and kind whilst also being completely unobtrusive (also we fell in love with their dogs!) There are three cottages which would be great for a larger family group who wanted to spend time together. We had a lovely time and would highly recommend Gwennol Cottage.
