Y Cwlwm - The Celtic Knot

We spent a long weekend in the lovely roundhouse and had a thoroughly relaxing stay.

The property was exceptionally comfortable and equipped with automatic Velux windows that added to the stay. From the house we could watch red kites overhead and horses peacefully grazing nearby, making it easy to switch off and enjoy the surroundings. On a clear night, once we moved away from the solar lamps, we got a view of the Milky Way, which was a change coming from a big city as we do! Nicola was an excellent host. She got in touch to make sure we had arrived safely and to check that everything was going well. The welcome pack was also greatly appreciated. The location was perfect for exploring the area with the coast not too far away. We would recommend a visit to the Harbourmaster in Aberaeron for excellent food and atmosphere, and The Moody Cow restaurant was another great dining experience. We left feeling refreshed and would happily return in the future.

Had a weeks stay at Y Cwlwm.

Beautiful surroundings and accommodation. The round house has everything you would need for a week away. Welcome packs for both human and four legged guests. The air conditioning in the bedroom, was a god send in the warmer weather in early August. The automated Velux windows in the roof make for easy ventilation and the ability to leave them open, knowing they will close if it rains was a help in cooling the rooms too. The outlook over the fields of horses and the red kites in the sky make for a relaxing and soothing place to be. The location is good for access to the towns of Cardigan, Carmarthen, Aberaeron and Aberystwyth amongst others. Good local history on the doorstep too. One of the best short stay breaks we have had in a long time. Highly recommend this cottage.

From the very first moment when we pulled up in our car we were instantly struck by how beautiful and peaceful the round house was.

We felt instant at home and relaxed, including our pooch who always takes a few days to settle down. The inside of the house exceeded our expectations and it was clear that it had been finished to a high standard, where everything had been thought of! The welcome pack for us and our pooch, with the lovely hand written card was so thoughtful and made our arrival even more special. Nicola was always on hand if we needed her and even recommended a local food festival which was amazing. Waking up to the horses in the field was an added bonus that added to the magic of the round house. We felt so sad to leave and we definitely miss the unspoilt peace and beauty of Maes Celts. We would come back here again and it definitely has a special place in our hearts! PS - the outside bath was a genius idea which we loved!

We had an amazing stay at Y Cwlwm in July.

The roundhouse was beautiful, finished to a high standard & furnished with everything you could possibly need. The air conditioning in the bedroom was a life saver as it was so hot during our visit. We didn’t explore as much as we had planned (too hot for the dog, although mornings at the beach were fantastic) and so spent a lot of time at Y Cwlwm. The outside space was great, with stunning scenery: there were horses in the field below, and cows in the distance. It was so peaceful being surrounded by nature, with evenings outside by the fire pit - our dog absolutely loved chilling in the garden with us too! We will definitely return for an autumn break so we can explore more of the surrounding area with the dog, in cooler weather!

Wow – what an amazing place!

I spent a few days here with my puppy for some much-needed me time to reset and unwind, and it was absolutely perfect. The Roundhouse has been beautifully renovated and has everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. The bed was incredibly comfy, and the towels and dressing gowns were a lovely touch – with gowns that are actually a great size for us curvy women! The air conditioning was an absolute lifesaver during the current heatwave. There were thoughtful touches for my puppy too, including throws, dog bowls, and treats, which made us both feel so welcome. The welcome pack was also greatly appreciated, with delicious local waffles, cookies, crisps, and milk waiting for us on arrival. I spent hours simply relaxing and watching the red kites soaring overhead and the beautiful horses grazing in the field the property overlooks. It was so peaceful and exactly the escape I needed. A wonderfully comfortable, tranquil stay, and I can't wait to come back. Highly recommended!

Everything we needed to enjoy a week of peace and tranquillity as we topped up our souls, reconnected, and enjoyed some down time together.

The perfect house for a relaxing week. Nicola was helpful and supportive from the outset, in regular contact to ensure we arrived safely, and interesting and knowledgeable about her local area, giving super recommendations for walks, restaurants and visits. The house was immaculate, with everything we needed. It truly was a home-from-home. The addition of air con in the bedroom was extremely valuable given the temperatures, and the outdoor bathing area was private yet also embedded in the natural environment. Dog-friendly, our Labrador settled well enjoying places to roam in the security of the garden. Local walks ensured her energy was burned off daily. The doggie welcoming pack was a thoughtful and considerate touch that we really appreciated. We really hope this is the first of many visits to Y Cwlwm! An outstanding property in a gorgeous area, with everything you need to relax fully and switch off.

Quite simply the nicest property we have stayed in whilst on holiday.

Great design concept, very professionally built, and with fixtures, fittings, and finishes all of a very high standard. Perfect for us humans. A lovely mix of slabs, stone, short grass, and long grass provided a great secure playground for our two senior huskies for the week, and they thoroughly enjoyed the freedom. As our arrival coincided with the start of the June heatwave, all four holiday makers (furry and non-furry) were very, very grateful for the air-conditioning. Fortunately, our hosts were of equal calibre to our accommodation, and we simply could not find fault with our stay. Highly recommended.

Really lovely surroundings. Incredibly quiet with only the sound of birdsong in the background. The generous windows are such a perk. Everything was of superb quality. Owners are friendly and attentive. Highly recommend booking here. We hope to return!

We had a lovely, relaxing few days at The Celtic Knot.

The weather wasn't great (although we still did a couple of coastal walks from Aberaeron, visited Lampeter and walked up to see the wonderful views from the fort behind the property) but the weather didn't matter as the accommodation felt so special. Beautiful views from all the windows and deep relaxing baths helped us to unwind and just soak up the beauty of the accommodation and its surroundings.

It was incredibly comfy and cosy, and offered a truly peaceful, tranquil break from everyday life. The setting was so relaxing, and everything we needed was thoughtfully provided. Our dogs had a wonderful time too and clearly felt just as at home as we did. We're leaving feeling refreshed and very grateful for this special place.

Peaceful Autumn Getaway My husband and I spent our annual autumn break in this lovely round house and couldn’t have asked for a better escape.

The setting is wonderfully remote and peaceful — surrounded by nature and perfect for slowing down and unwinding. The house itself is spotless, comfortable, everything we could need for our stay , full of charm, with a unique circular design that makes it feel extra special. With lovely special touches . We left feeling completely refreshed and already planning our next visit.
