Rebecca was very helpful ,house was great all mod cons were more than happy to recommend best property we stayed at by a mile would stay again,only draw back was stairs for me due to COPD ,haven’t had a home with stairs for over 23 years but still managed to do the stairs ,it’s a beautiful home could not fault

An absolutely beautiful cottage with everything that you needed.

A superb large garden with several seating areas and tables. Rebecca was extremely helpful and attentive. After a few days she texted to ensure that we were ok and asked if there was anything that we needed. The next door neighbour was very friendly and considerate. She had grandchildren over one day, who had music on, playing very loudly when we returned from a day out. As soon as she realised we were home, she told them to turn it down. Unfortunately we had to leave a few days early as my mum had taken ill.

The cottage was beautifully maintained.

Due to weather we were unable to make use of the garden facilities which would have been wonderful in good weather. We used the property as base to sèe the Brecon Beacons and for this purpose it was great. We had many lovely drives and explored some lovely villages. The property was very comfortable, wo needful views and perfectly equiped for a weeks stay. Parking was ample and off road.

Pondfield Gate is a wonderful cottage with absolutely everything you could possibly want or need!

It has a glorious spacious garden with plenty of outside seating. Rebecca is a super host and made us very welcome. The goodies left for us were much appreciated! We hope to visit again. Thank you so much Rebecca

What a wonderful find!

Clean and comfy, we felt right at home from the moment we arrived. Rebecca was an excellent host. The garden was beautiful and peaceful. The cottage is perfectly located for mountains, beautiful beaches and lovely towns.

A super cottage excellent place to stay

We have stayed in several Sykes properties, usually in the 4.

7 to 4.9 range of ratings, and they have all been good and lived up to expectations. This property exceeds them all and can only be described as outstanding. Rebecca the Host, was extremely helpful , and went over and above to ensure we were settled and comfortable. The property was extremely well equipped, spotlessly clean and in a great location. Without a doubt we intend to stay there in the future.

Lovely cottage!

Very clean, comfortable, spacious - a really good size for 4 people, plus a very large garden backing onto fields and hills. This is one of the few self catering properties I've stayed in that has everything you need in terms of utensils, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, cloths etc. There was even a large jar of bird food so that you can feed the robins, blackbirds, sparrows and collared doves that visited every day. The owner was very helpful and directed us to the best places for walking etc. We would definitely recommend Pondfield Gate cottage.

Pondfield Cottage was absolutely beautiful and was so much better in real life than the photos!

We had some very thoughtful welcome gifts and Rebecca was so kind and welcoming. If we needed anything at all, she was there. The property was extremely clean and tidy and they really had thought of everything. The beds were super comfortable and the children had hours of fun in the garden. Would love to stay here again, thank you for a wonderful stay

The house is beautiful and very well equipped with evrything you need.

It is in a lovely location within easy access to great places to visit. The host is lovely and extremley thoughtful, halloween crafts were left for my daughter. I would definatley reccomend.

A pleasant and comfortable cottage, well fitted out.

Patio. kitchen and dining area first class and a lovely welcome basket. A couple of small niggles (i e. needs privacy lock on upstairs loo and creaky stairs would give any interloper a heart attack) but overall very much enjoyed our stay and a communicative landlady who met our needs.

This was a long journey to South Wales.

But was well worth it. Rebecca the owner was in touch with us before we set off and in touch with us up to our arrival. The Cottage was outstanding in layout,amenities and comfort. Very spacious,we only used the one bedroom for sleeping. This was amazing,slept so well. The garden and patio area was well maintained bathroom shower was incredible. Large cooking range ideal for 4 people. The welcome gifts were well received. At our request,Rebecca called to see us and was a delight to meet with. Would recommend this property. Would not hesitate to return.

A really lovely cottage with everything you could possibly need.

The beds were so comfortable with the highest quality duvets and pillows. The cottage is set in a beautiful garden with plenty of outside furniture. A well equipped kitchen with an easy to use range type cooker. Two lovely lounges. Rebecca was very helpful and left a lovely welcome pack.

This is the second Sykes holiday we have had we didn’t think you could better the one in Castle Douglas but this Pondfield Gate is the best every thing we needed was there TOP marks Ray and Rosemary Topping

We had a great stay.

Our son loved the garden. 2 fridges so enough space for food for the whole week! Air fryer and microwave in addition to wide oven. Nice neighbour with cute little dogs. While the description says stream on the property, don't let this put you off as it is the other side of a fence and it was dry when we stayed.

A great cottage to stay in very comfortable and very well equipped the owners and great hosts would definitely stay again.

Everything you could want in a holiday let and more. We have stayed here on a number of holidays and we are never disappointed. Beautiful, huge garden. The owner is very helpful and we always feel at home when we are there.

We love how Rebecca asked if we got there safely and when we went back home.

I place was so homely and quiet we could have stayed there longer. The wildlife came in to the garden and I got some coconut feeders plus monkey nuts for squirrels and birds. Brilliant time visiting my family and friends also showing where I spent my youth in the area.

The cottage and garden are lovely. Already planing on going back A.S.A.P. This is such a restful place but so close to the wonderful Brecon Beacons.

This is a beautiful cottage set in a vast, beautifully kept garden.

The accommodation has everything you could need. Very clean and comfortable. The owners are very welcoming . We are already planning our next stay.

We loved our stay and Rebecca really has thought of everything to make the stay perfect and is a super holiday home host!

The house is lovely and so many nice little touches! The garden and wildlife that visit were the icing on the cake for our stay and wound definitely recommend a stay here.

She went out of her way to help. The property fully deserves 5 stars. Rebecca gets six. The location suited us well. With a car, the hills, the sea, castles, caves, railways, gardens, Swansea, and more, are in easy reach. Our only disappointment - we were unlucky with the weather, which discouraged us from making the most of the garden and patio.

A beautifully presented cottage.

Everything looks like it has been done with care. Kitchen facilities and equipment is great. Lovely comfortable nights sleep. It is a really good central point for exploring the coast and the mountains.

Will be booking again ASAP. This place is a real gem. The owner are very attentive to your needs. Lovely welcome basket. I can't really list all the things I love about this cottage and setting as it would take to long. It is ideally place. So close to the Black Mountains and an easy drive to all amenities. We just love it.

Pond field Gate was immaculate and went beyond expectations in the furnishings , white goods and equipment.

The kitchen and dining areas were pleasant, looking over the attractive garden and patio. The owner was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a lovely comfortable holiday.

A beautiful property nestled in the lower Brecon Beacons, Plenty to do for everyone, Close to the counryside and not far from Swansea.

Fantastic cottage perfectly situated between the brecons and the gower which allowed us to stretch our legs or chill on the beach.

The cottage was a home from home with great kitchen, with all the utensils you could ask for. The kitchen diner opened up with double fresh doors to a great garden with a nice view. Wet room was perfect and the 2 separate toilet were spotless and never a queue for a wee. The main living room was nice to chill in the evening and with a guest netflix account allowed us to watch a few movies. I can highly recommend this as a base for a multi activity holiday with so much within a 30 min drive north east south or west

We had an incredible week here and would highly recommend this property to others.

The garden was amazing, huge and covered in lush green grass, beautifully edged by large mature trees. Detached property which provided privacy but felt connected enough to neighbours to not feel alone. The kitchen/diner was a huge plus point to the property as was the utility room and wet room - these all made the property extremely convenient for us as a family. We had incredibly hot weather which certainly helped, but every morning we enjoyed opening the double set of patio doors and eating outdoors listening to the birds and admiring the views. The owners are lovely people, who genuinely care about their property and the people who stay there. We are grateful to have stumbled across Pondfield Gate and would love to return.

This house was one of the best we have had.

It provided all our requirements both in comfort and cleanliness.The garden was beautiful with two patios one for sitting and the other with a barbeque, I would highly recommend this house.

The cottage and its location , the well kept, lawned garden with the beck and open fields behind, added peace and serenity making this an idyllic place to stay.

The cottage had been carefully restored and extended and was only minutes drive from the town centre and facilities. Our host provided us with a warm welcome and everything we needed!

My family and I had such a fabulous week, the weather was perfect, the cottage outstanding.

Pondfield Gate was a wonderful property, which had clearly been carefully planned by the owners, who had invested care, love and attention in the property.

The house was clean and tidy, and beautifully appointed; in fact there were very many extras that my wife and I agreed that Pondfield Gate offered some of the best facilities we have ever found in a home away from home. It was impossible not to feel relaxed and comfortable. As a base Pondfield Gate is perfect for exploring a wide area of South Wales. We roamed across the Brecon Beacons, and out to the coast, and the proximity of the property to good transport links made getting about easy to do. Pondfield Gate exceeded out expectations, and gave us a holiday that we shall remember for a very long time. Thank you.

A lovely cottage.

Very clean so I felt relaxed and comfortable. Three year old daughter settled straight in. Beautiful garden and a superb hostess who was there for all our needs but quietly in the background so we could enjoy the cottage as if it were our own. Only downside was coming back to our own kitchen, because that one was very special.

It is situated close to the Brecon Beacons and about an hour from the coast, so plenty of things to do in the area. A lovely house.

Very well equipped and very cosy. The cakes, milk and wine are nice after a long journey. Very easy to find, the directions were good. All amenities are a few miles away. The bird feeder in the garden is visited by lots of birds, which was great to watch whilst having our breakfast. Bird food was supplied, which is a lovely touch. We had a very comfortable stay and will try to go back.

It was lovely to sit outside and eat dinner listening to the leaves rustling in the trees. We had a warm welcome from the owner, she made sure we had everything we needed and provided some much appreciated goodies on our arrival! I think if you have tea and cake, it makes a house feel like home. Thank you very much for the gate lock and tarpaulin for the motorbike. It made his holiday having his baby with him, made my holiday having a happy other half! We all felt very spoiled at the end of the week.

This is one of the best houses we've stayed in - and there have been a few.

Massive kitchen- you could easily entertain 6 adults if you have visitors. The two separate living rooms are a godsend. The snug afforded us peace and quiet to read whilst the kids watched tv in the other room. The only down side was that it was a little way away from the action. About 7 mins drive to a large Tesco and swimming pool but nothing really within walking distance. It was fine for us because we had the car - a really great house!

We were given a warm welcome, good information about the property and ideas for exploring the area. The home-baking, tea and prosecco on arrival was lovely touch! We had everything we needed for a great cottage holiday.

Wonderful cottage in Wales - close to Swansea and the Gower, which we know well, but also close to the Brecon Beacons, which encouraged us to explore a new part of the country!

The cottage was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The owner gave us a very warm welcome, along with delicious homemade cakes! We will be going back.

Pondfield Gate is a great example of what a holiday cottage should be.

The renovation and extension of the original building has been very well done. The furnishings and decor are quite exceptional and the cottage comes with all the equipment that you need. The owner met us with a friendly and informative greeting and was available should we have needed her during the holiday. Wet weather kept us indoors on several occasions but this was not a problem in such nice accommodation. There is little to commend the village of Cymgors itself except that it is a convenient base for visits to Cardiff, Swansea, the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons, all within an hour's drive. We also visited the National Trust properties at Aberdulais (40 minutes), Dinefwr (30 minutes) and Rhosilli (60 minutes). It was a good holiday only marred by too much liquid sunshine!
