Meadowlands
Description
Meadowlands is a charming stone semi-detached cottage located in the hamlet of Iet y Bontpren, Dinas Cross, nestled between the seaside towns of Newport and Fishguard. Retaining some of its original features, parts of this traditionally furnished cottage are over 400 years old.
On the ground floor, you will find a well-equipped kitchen/dining area that leads through to a large wooden conservatory, along with a bathroom, utility room, and cozy lounge with an open fire. The second floor features an en-suite master bedroom with a king-size bed, a double bedroom, and a twin bedroom.
The cottage sits in half an acre of grounds, which include a stream, a natural spring, an enclosed fish pond, woodland shrubbery, and a grass lawn area. The grounds also have a picnic table, perfect for enjoying an alfresco meal or a 'Teddy bears Picnic.'
Modern amenities include oil central heating, an electric hob, built-in oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, 32” TV, video, a well-stocked bookshelf, and WiFi. Fuel and power are included in the rent. Please note that Meadowlands does not have a charge point for electric vehicles, and charging from within the property is prohibited. Bed linen and towels are provided, but guests are asked to bring their own cot linen and beach towels. A cot is available on request, though there is no high chair. The property offers off-road parking for two cars.
The Pembrokeshire Coast Path can be joined nearby, offering superb views and the chance to spot seals, birds, dolphins, or porpoises. A short drive from the property are the two coves of Pwll Gwaelod and Cwm yr Eglwys. The public service bus and the local coastal bus can both be caught a short walk from the property.
Nearby attractions include Dinas Island, Strumble Head, Newport Sands, and the charming towns of Newport and Fishguard, both of which host weekly farmers markets and offer plenty of galleries, individual shops, eateries, and pubs. Meadowlands is part of a group of three individual cottages within 50 yards of each other, making it an ideal location for larger groups or families looking to stay close together.

What guests are saying
Very clean, very comfortable, very spacious, well equipped and slightly quirky.
The garden provided a pleasant outlook to the rear. The front of the property is only just off the main road but we were not unduly troubled by any occasional traffic noise provided the front windows were closed. We thought the property was strictly no pets but notes & reviews suggest this may be incorrect. We didn't experience any other suggestion the property may be pet friendly. A larger party should still be able find a good balance between communal and private space within this accommodation. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Meadowlands.
The road outside is undeniably busy and noisy, but this quirky cottage helps you forget that.
Comfortable, spacious yet cosy, well equipped, clean. With a very nice conservatory and back garden - we were lucky to have stayed there whilst the houses on either side were unoccupied, and I'm not sure I would have felt the same if I had to share the space with random strangers - one of the houses is VERY close (i.e. caravan park spacing). By the way, if spiders bother you much, this is maybe not an ideal place - we were removing four or five cellar spiders (small bodies, long thin legs) a day. Minimal doggy smell, despite the place being 'pet friendly'.
We absolutely loved our time at Meadowlands, it was brilliant!
:) I personally don't think the photos do it justice it looked much better in real life for me. There was plenty of room and space for us all, and as previously said everything you need to make great meals. Everything was lovely and clean spotless! My grandchildren loved house and garden and made the absolute most of being together. We did have bit problem with hot water but got it sorted. We would love to come back again a great base for visiting beautiful Fishguard, Pembroke Castel, Newport beach, Tenby, The British Birds of Prey Conservation Centre, St Davids and finally the Iron Age Settlement on our way home, very very sad to be leaving! :(
